I would give no stars if I could. They claim to have a "Cali burrito".. it was very disappointing. Not Cali at all and I'm from Cali. I do not recommend eating here.Pros: conveniently located on base.Cons: The cashier was slow and did not know her own menu.Overpriced for the quality and quantity. The loco burrito was skimpy and flat. Loaded with 90% fries and 10% meat. The burrito was barely warm. The carnitas was bland and lacking in flavor. The tasted like they were frozen and microwaved before. The hot sauce was far from hot.

I feel so sorry for people without base access. Loco Lowe's is a JBPHH gem! As long as they're here, I strongly advise you to gain base access someway, somehow... But legally of course! My coworkers & I try to plan lunch get-togethers at this spot, but with our ever changing work schedules, it can be difficult. Anyway, enough of the backstory that you all don't care about... I was debating between the protein bowl and frybread taco. I can be quite indecisive, so it was no surprise that I couldn't make up my mind. I asked what they would suggest I order and they told me the frybread, which they mentioned it being very unique in comparison to other options on the menu not only for them, but for other establishments too. Since it's "no calorie Friday", the Friday where calories don't count, I figured I might as well get that frybread! I chose carne asada and got sour cream and guac, and their spicy salsa/sauce on the side (really good, but I can go spicier ). I didn't know what to expect because I didn't turn to yelp beforehand & there wasn't any pictures posted on the truck. So I guess you can say I was being very adventurous. An adventure I would go on again, I might add.We got there at about 130, well after the lunch rush & I am so glad about that! We waited no longer than 5 minutes for our food, which was fantastic! When I opened up the plate, my jaw dropped. The frybread looked amazing. I couldn't wait to dig in, but I had to wait because I had to figure out my plan of attack. It was huge! Was I gonna eat it like a pizza? Use a knife & fork? Fold it like a taco or chalupa? I ended up eating it like a pizza, but it was so much food... My hands got tired Hahhaha. I ended up using the knife & fork! I def think this meal coulda fed two people, but honestly... I finished the whole frybread on my own! No regrets! The frybread was fried nice and golden, crunchy outside & soft & pillow-like inside. It was topped with refried beans, tomatoes, carne asada (which was nicely marinated & tender), & the guac, salsa, & sour cream. Loco Lowe's is amazing. Friendly service & delicious food. It's even just a nice place to make new friends. Go there ASAP. Do yourself a favor, eat a whole frybread or share it with someone you love & enjoy it!!!

This place has been open for a few months now and I finally got to try their California Mexican style food. I lived in San Diego for 7 years and can tell you that this stuff is legit. Carne asada is nicely seasoned, grilled and moist to perfection. Street tacos are awesome and they are $2 on Tuesdays. There was a line when we got there so the food took longer to prepare. Lets face it, would you rather eat at a restaurant that's empty or full of customers? Stop complaining about wait time, this is quality food not fast food. Owners, of you guys can find Coke in glass bottles, I will add another star.

Do you want to know what's worse than not having food trucks near by for lunch? Having a food truck within walking distance of your house that's seemingly never open.Since this truck has moved into the shopette parking lot, my husband and I try to visit this truck at various times during their listed hours, several times a week. I would say our success rate for them actually being open is somewhere around 10% of our visits. So... This tacos are good. If the owner bothers to open or stay open.

It was tricky trying to figure out when Loco Lowe's was open. One day I went and they were finally open. The menu is pretty straight forward. As a Cali girl I ordered the California burrito. I had to take out some of the ingredients to make it vegan, so it didn't have a lot of flavor. It was a huge burrito though and wasn't bad, it's just missing some seasoning. It does take a little long as they make it all fresh. The staff was super nice.

New Food Truck!Calling all military personnel: If youre looking to get your fix of mexican food, look no further. Loco Lowe's is where its at. I'm stationed on Pearl Harbor so its just a hop skip away. They are located on Hickam AFB next to Burger King. They do provide ample outdoor seating and enough shade to make your dining experience enjoyable.I ordered their Loco Fries, which for those like myself who are from Cali, Carne Asada Fries, and it was GOOD. I know a lot of vendors who can't seem to this part right, especially with food trucks, the fries usually come out soggy. Loco Lowes however got it right. Fries were crispy and the combination with the meats textures along with the right amount of cheese made for a sure fire meal. Loco Lowes have an outpouring of people eating come lunch time when all the servicemembers are free, and although they are new, they seem to have their chemistry downpacked you would've thought they were a seasoned food truck vendor. Line moves fairly quick and the food comes out fresh and ready at a reasonable time. Mahalo nui loa to Loco Lowes for the ono grinds and good luck on your future endeavors.Shoots \m/

Best food truck on JBPHH! Loco Lowe's is a family ran business who makes some amazing Tex-Mex. My only complaint is the wait these days due to Loco Lowe's becoming so popular.

Good Mexican food is hard to find on the island, especially close to the airport and base! I've had the carne asada tacos, fry bread w/ground beef, nachos w/pork carnitas, and chips and guac... it's all really good!! My kids love the cinnamon sugar fry bread as well. And the owners are awesome, you can tell they love what they do! I definitely recommend y'all try it out!
