Not sure if I caught them on a bad day, so first I'll say the coffee is good! But be prepared to wait 5x longer than you would anywhere else. I am sympathetic to how much hard work goes into the service industry, but the girls behind the counter genuinely seemed like they didn't want to be there, and that attitude was affecting the entire operation. It took 20 minutes for a black coffee! The staff was not communicating well with one another and I saw several orders announced incorrectly or not at all, adding to confusion. I think if they took order names it would run more smoothly. To have a bad attitude on top of clunky service made me not want to go back there.

Local Joe is a coffee shop located on the edge of Chinatown on Smith and Marin. It's a pretty popular spot, and there's limited parking available on the street or in a paid lot. The cafe itself is kind of small so there are a few tables indoors and outdoors; I visited on a weekend morning and it was pretty packed, so wasn't able to find an open spot.I placed an online order for a turkey pesto sandwich and Thai latte with oat milk, and took a bit to be noticed by staff. I told them I was there to pick up my order placed 30 minutes ago, and then they started making my order (which took around 15-20 minutes). Then the owner (I believe) as he gave me my order mentioned they replaced the oat milk with macadamia milk, which I'm allergic to. I asked for it to be remade, which took a bit of time; it would have been nice if they asked me first before making the substitution, esp since I was waiting right there! When I did dig into my order, the Thai latte was too sweet imo and I felt that the coffee wasn't strong enough. The turkey pesto sandwich was ok!Overall was a little frustrated with the online ordering process and wasn't a fan of their drinks, but would be willing to go back to try their sandwiches!

Local Joe is a cute and quaint coffee shop tucked away on Marin Street in Downtown Honolulu. They are serving up amazing cold brews and delicious turkey bacon breakfast burritos. Their guacamole salsa is the cherry on top of this perfect meal! The service is always quick and efficient. They have a small outdoor dining space and a few barstools at the indoor window counter for you to enjoy your breakfast there. We've been coming to this spot for years and it never disappoints our weekend breakfast cravings!

We came here two days in a row because it was a short walk from where we were staying. The specialty coffees were very good! The staff was helpful and allowed us to substitute ingredients in the breakfast burrito. It was nice that it came with avocado and salsa on the side. The breakfast croissant was tasty too and the croissant was flaky. We came back the next day and ordered an avocado bagel with cream cheese and bacon. Those were pre made and sitting in a glass container which I thought was odd. When I got it, it was very hot and I wasn't expecting the avocado and cream cheese being very hot. There was not a lot of cream cheese and I did not like having the items hot. I couldn't finish it which was disappointing. The ambiance inside is very cute and chill. The service was ok. I would still recommend coming here, but not for the abc bagel.

Definitely needed a pick me up first thing in the morning after a long night and was just stumbled upon this local gem right by the water! They've got an in house roastery and it definitely showed its flavors when I grabbed their Vietnamese Coffee! Cute little patio to enjoy the drink and get some work done as well, definitely had a great time with friends!

Came here for breakfast and coffee before my shift. It's a cute little shop with good food!!!Majority of the eateries in Chinatown open at 11am. I was in luck when I found this place!!! I came around 0830 in the morning LOCATION: Right next to the Marin Tower on Marin Street (runs parallel to Nimitz Hwy). Marin Street runs between Smith Street and Nuuanu AvePARKING: They don't have their own parking lot, however, there's a huge paid parking lot right across Marin St. There's also a lot of street parking on Nuuanu Ave and Smith Street. SERVICE: The workers here are lively and friendly! We were greeted with a smile and our coffee and food came out quick. A small line built up, but they were quick to serve everyone.FOOD: I noticed they had a lot of Vegan options! I'm not vegan, but my best friend is so I'll have to bring her here one day. I ordered their Turkey Bacon burrito. I really enjoyed their breakfast burrito. I was amazed at how delicious it was. The size of the burrito was pretty big too! My friend helped me finish it all. I'd like to come back and try their other menu items. As for their coffee, I had the Vietnamese cold brew. Meh..... I should've stuck to my normal black coffee. The sweetened condensed milk was appealing to me. However, I'm not a sweets kind of person. AMBIANCE: Their whole vibe in there is pretty cool! Great music, aesthetically pleasing decor, the fresh baked bread smells...... so good! The perfect early in the morning vibe to start your day off right. There are a few tables outside to enjoy your breakfast at and a few counter type seats inside of their shop. I'll definitely be back to try their other menu items.

The area is really small but the inside is a vibe! I ordered the hot Hawaiian mamakai tea since they were out of the kombucha & it just tasted like boiling hot water. There was no taste to it at all. Would like to try the coffee next time, but would defs not recommend the tea

Friend and I got the white chocolate mocha and cold brew Vietnamese coffee (not pictured). The drinks had good flavor but were very sweet (sweeter than Starbucks coffee). Had little coffee flavor (likely because of all the sugar added). If you like sweeter coffee drinks I would recommend this place, but if you want something stronger I would try another drink (with espresso) or go elsewhere. Ambiance was nice and the servers were very polite. Seating is primarily outside with 3-4 seats inside.
