Lobster King has been around for years but we went for the first time last night. We were blessed to be invited to a dinner there and the hosts ordered the meal for 10 people. There were various waitresses serving our table which was nice. Our teapots were always filled and dishes were taken away promptly. The only downfall was that they did not fill our cups of water the entire time we were there. My daughter drank all of her water so I shared mine with her.The dishes came out one after another and their presentation is very nice. The lobster was cut up into different size pieces and it was difficult to eat its. They give you some scissors and other implements but it still was hard to get the meat out of some pieces. Everything was delicious and pretty fancy! It was the first time I had an abalone dish. Parking is in the back off of Keeaumoku. I would suggest making reservations because it was pretty busy on a Sunday night.

The last time I came here was when they first opened. We had a dinner for 10 people so I made reservations in advance. It was a Monday so it wasn't too busy. I saw that they had a premade menu for parties of 10 people so decided to go with that and added on a few other plates that wasn't on the menu so I didn't have to worry about what to get. We got the $560 menu.Everything that came out was tasty, service was great, food came out fairly quick. Our server Kevin was very helpful and kept checking on us & very accommodating. I was surprised at how fresh the oysters were. The abalone was very good as well. Our guests all enjoyed the food as well. I will be back and definitely recommend.

What the heck -- 5 stars! I've driven past Lobster King on King Street countless times, always meaning to stop but never finding the time. For my birthday dinner, I finally decided to give it a try, and it exceeded all expectations. We ordered three whole crabs, three whole lobsters, and about six other dishes to complement the seafood. The ambience is that classic Chinese restaurant vibe, complete with live seafood tanks that sparked a bit of nostalgia. They even bring the seafood to your table for inspection before cooking, which is a nice touchThe food was amazing. Our favorite dish by far was the golden lobster--it was cooked to perfection with a sauce that was just the right blend of savory and sweet. The Pei Pa Tofu was also something special, with a delicate texture and rich flavor that stood out among the dishes. Even the simple plates like beef chow fun and fried rice were exceptional, bursting with flavor and cooked just rightThe only letdown was the garlic fish. It was battered and deep-fried with garlic chips on top, but it wasn't very flavorful and was overly breaded, making it quite oily. Despite that, the overall experience was fantastic. The prices were extremely reasonable for the quality and quantity of food we got. I can't speak highly enough of this place and will definitely be back, bringing my parents along to share in the experience

The food was very tasty, especially the whole lobster in XO sauce, peipa tofu, and eggplant with pork. The ginger garlic noodles were good but a little dry, and the fried shrimp wasn't super crispy (to eat with the shell on, as recommended). The service was speedy, though, and the staff was friendly and helpful in making suggestions.

Recently went to Lobster King for my grandma's birthday. We had a really friendly waitress that recommended some delicious items. We had crab and fish maw soup it was delicious, crab both fried and butter style, Peking duck, kau yuk, noodles, fried pork chop, rice noodles and vegetables. Everything was delicious and they provided scissors to cut the crab. They even gave us complimentary fried shrimp that was amazing. We enjoyed our dinner and the service was excellent thank you.

Old school Cantonese restaurant. Staff speaks Cantonese. Food came out fast but the service was on the slower side side since there was around 3 servers for the whole restaurant at evening. The food was good and I really liked the salt and pepper lobster. Lobster was fresh. Fried rice has the wok flavor and had dried salted fish. The ginger and onion sauce was tasty and fresh. The chicken itself is a little bland. Overall pretty good and legit Chinese food!

Have heard so much about this place finally had the chance to visit after two-years on the island. Always wondering..."how do they get so many lobsters on this island?" Staffs were mixture of Chinese and Korean speaking crew. Few things in common...not a lot of smiles on their game face, but they sure move fast and swift. Typical and familiar style of cooking, heavy on the sauce and noticeable wok hay...remind me so much of those Chinatown seafood restaurants on the east coast. Place were buzzing and got packed real quick. Guess it truly takes some street creds to dome the name king.

This is one of our go to restaurants for family celebrations and we were here this evening for a birthday. The service is usually good, although when they're very busy it can be a bit chaotic, and the food is consistently above average. We had our favorites like the fried tofu, a crispy delight with yummy sauce and Mongolian beef with tender slices of slightly spicy beef and lots of onions and bamboo shoots. Tried the chicken and salted fish fried rice which was ok but not wow and the Choi sum which was all stems and a tad tough. Our other dishes were tasty.

I was the oddball. On a recent state holiday I met up with my foodie friends where we usually get together on holidays for breakfast or lunch. It was determined we go to Lobster King (LK), a Chinese and Korean-Chinese restaurant, that has been in operation since 2010. I've heard and read mixed reviews of this place where it wasn't a priority to try here. But as we sat down at our round table and reviewed the menu, it was revealed that I was the only one who hasn't eaten at LK. Upon arrival shortly before noon, it was impressive that the parking lot from the Keeaumoku St entrance was full so I parked on the other side. As I walked to the entrance, I noticed a group of Korean tourists exit a taxi and came here for lunch. Upon entry, the restaurant was quite full with mixed conversations going on in English, Korean, Mandarin and Cantonese. I pretty much knew what I was ordering for lunch as I've witnessed many, many postings by Judy C., with her raving overthe XO Sauce Prawns with Look Funn. When I realized LK also has Korean-Chinese offerings, I also thought about switching to Jyajeongmen or Jjamppong. But no deviation on this visit as I just had to investigate Judy's go to dish here. It was quite amusing and coincidental that all 7 of us ordered different items, most from their lunch menu specials. The restaurant was quite busy and we utilized our wait time catching up with new businesses in town and recent Yelp events. It was impressive that our food was delivered to our table pretty much at the same time. Although we were not dining family style, we placed our food on the lazy susan and snapped away with our cell phones. After taking the pictures, it was finally time to eat.THE VERDICT:The XO look funn was visually an impressive bowl of noodles with a generous portion. There were about 10 decent sized shrimp cooked perfectly with bright green Chinese peas and carrots. I first tried the broth which was flavorful but lacked heat so I asked for "chili oil." But when the staff repeatedly my request with "chili sauce", I then repeated chili oil in Cantonese "辣椒油". She immediately brought me a serving of chili oil where after adding some of it into my bowl of noodles, I was now a happy camper. Personally, my noodles were just okay and nothing spectacular. I'm glad I finally tried it and will order something else next time. When speaking with my dining mates, the consensus was the food was either just okay or underwhelming. Visually, the char siu pork and roast duck both didn't look appetizing at all. Lacked freshness? The oyster sauce chicken cake noodle special was impressive in volume but the noodles look questionable. Another friend commented the mushy won ton skins and hard char siu, again food quality subpar. On a brighter note, several commented on generous portions but food quality and taste were second tier. Service was above average with multiple staff on the floor who are bilingual. They refilled our water glasses and tea pots multiple occasions, checked up on us and brought containers for those with leftovers to take home. LK ambiance and interior exceeded my expectations as I had low standards after reading some reviews. We did witness and heard the electric fly traps go off. LK acknowledges a fly issue and has taken action on addressing that. It was startling at first when some of us heard that first "zap" go off. In my mind, electrical wiring issue crossed my head until I saw fly traps on the wall. Overall, I'm glad that I finally tried LK and game for a return visit. Witnessing multiple Korean speaking patrons has me wanting to try Korean-Chinese cuisine, as well as trying fresh seafood (crab and lobsters). I wasn't impressed with the food quality but fortunate to have spent a great time with friends who elevated this dining experience. NOTE: While dining at LK, a former colleague stopped by our table as he as leaving the restaurant. We worked together over 30 years ago and recall him having a refined palate. LK seems promising and perhaps we just ordered the wrong dishes as the food didn't impress us.
