We just had our Roosevelt High School Class of '68 55th Class Reunion Dinner in Honolulu on 10/28 - as the primary organizer, it was my responsibility to make arrangements for our dinner. Living in California added a challenge to this task! I found this company here on Yelp and decided on them based on reviews. And I was NOT DISAPPOINTED!Our group was 80 older individuals local to Hawaii and they all RAVED about the food! It was abundant, nicely presented, and YUMMY! I am an absolute cheerleader for Laverne's! Travis was most accommodating - ordering was easy - delivery was on time and set up for our event - I can't say enough good things!

I ordered for my son's graduation. I love that they provided free delivery and paper. Good with the package I purchased. The food was Ono. Miami disappointment was that they got there 30 minutes late. They did call to advise me though. I would recommend ordering from them as the food was very very worthy.

Catered for our baby's first birthday for about 100 ppl. It was a hit!We got their Hawaiian Deluxe Package, came with lots of ono foods, plates, napkins, and forks. It was more than enough for our party. The squid luau was definitely the highlight. We were very happy with the food.Communication was easy and delivered a little early, which was really helpful. Price was reasonable for the quality! I would book with them again.

8-6-2020 Since the beginning of the pandemic, we've been pretty cautious about take out. My friend shared they picked up food from here so... this was Our first experience with this food truck parked on the left of Petco by the Malasada wagon at the Waikele Premium Outlets.Checked out the Yelp photos first before ordering. My mixed plate choices were Kalua pig and beef stew. Gotta say it's the best take out beef stew I've tasted.The sauce is good, not sweet, and very tasty. Each beef piece was cooked perfectly. Soft, tender without falling apart stringy- ness. The next time I may order only the beef stew and rice. Why? The macaroni salad had heavy handed mayo, one taste and that was it for me. The Kalua pig looked good and generous but had a slight after taste to me. The stew and rice were excellent, even the one piece of carrot and one piece of potato were yummy, not hard or mushy, just right.Hubs said he'll never order the spareribs again because it was not sweet sour, it was sour. And this is coming from a guy who loves spareribs and pork n general.My dad's nickname was Stew. I'm sure if he could taste this he'd love it too.

Good food to eat .Fast & fully satisfied.Convenient & easy to go.Highly recommendable.

Staff went above and beyond I called in while on vacation in West Virginia to fill my take out order for Molokai Hoe

Food was not as good as it was last year. Chicken long rice was salty and kalua pig was too " smoky" and in clumps.

Catered my Granddaughters Graduation party with Lavern's and the food was still the best. Everyone asking where the food was catered from cause it was so ono. Especially her squad luau. I remember when my son Graduated in 1999 I catered through Lavern's .Still great quality & price is good too. Thank you so much Lavern's!

I honestly haven't eaten at the restaurant although I've heard the food is excellent! I did and do, however indulge and love their cakes, particularly the lemon crunch cake and strawberry crunch cake! I occasionally drive from Kapolei to Aiea for special occasions like birthdays, Mother's/Father's Day, and holidays just for the cakes-yup it's that good and so worth it! It's perfection in a cake-light, airy, moist, perfect sweetness, perfect frosting/filling to cake portions! It's so good sometimes (most times if I'm being honest) I literally have to fight with myself and debate with the voice in my head on whether I should leave the cake at home (so I can have it all to myself with unlimited helpings) or take it to the gathering/party (LOL)!

I go to Laverne's Catering wagons every so often and the food is usually pretty good. I usually go to their Aiea location but this time I stopped by their Waipahu Wagon in Waikele Shopping Center. I usually order the same items; Pastele or Beef Stew, Chopped Steak, Smoked Meat and Squid Luau. I may change it up a bit but these are the staples I usually order. The portions have decreased quite a bit and the food was not as good at this location that day? The Pastele Stew was okay but the Chopped Steak and especially the Smoked Meat were not up to their usual standards. Even my wife made a comment when she tasted the food and said it wasn't the same! The Squid Luau was mostly luau, not much squid with this order!My main reason for the 3 stars is the customer service. Whenever I stop by either location I get the feeling that I'm not wanted and they don't appreciate my business? They seem pretty standoffish and are not very friendly! It's as if they're doing me a favor by being there and selling me food? I'll probably stop by again but not any time soon. There are definitely other places that sell the same kind of food but with better customer service.
