I've tried a few different Puerto Rican places on island, but this food truck serves up some Ono food! They do some pre-order pickups/pop ups and events. My coworkers and I were lucky to have her parked across of workplace today. I ordered the pastele stew plate with gandule rice and cornbread. The pastele stew punches your tastebuds with flavor! So delicious! The gandule rice is great and flavorful on its own, but with the pastele stew smothered on top it's next level good! The surprise hit was also the cornbread! Like wow! It was buttery, sweet but not overly sweet, and the texture was great!Can't wait until her next event or pop up!

I finally found a day and location that I could make her pop up. I ordered online 2 pastele bowls with gandule rice. Lumpia's, empanadas, and cornbread. Let me tell you her cornbread is the best I've eaten! Soft, moist and mouthwatering good! Now for the stew. I don't know what happened but it was not as good as when I previously ordered. When I tasted it, it just did not taste as good as I remember. It lacked the flavor and depth of flavor I remembered. I was disappointed. The rice had this after taste I could not figure out. I was bummed not only with the flavors but the wait even though I pre ordered.

I hesitated long enough with writing this review, it really isn't easy...Most recent order was disappointing.2 extra stars given because she is the sweetest lady, and portions are generous.This time I was able to pre-order, usually it's FCFS so I rushed to the rare opportunity and ordered 3 pastele plates, and 4 pastele musubi's. Pick up few days later, cost $50.EVERYTHING - NO FLAVOR!Pastele musubi's (gondule rice, pastele in the middle, wrapped in nori) were HUGE!! Honestly 2 people can share. Looks delicious, nice color, not greasy, but tasteless.The pastele, no flavor, only 2 pieces of pork was found but it was dry and tasteless. Gondule rice was dried out, no flavor, bland.She has a huge fan base that loves her food, not for me. I loved it the first couple of times. She gained tons of customers real fast.I believe she is a great cook, but perhaps the orders are too much for her small business? She does a great job trying her best to accommodate, but now lacking those wonderful flavors her food use to have.#nolongerchasing#unfollowedonIG

AMAZING!!!!i found out about latina's kitchen via yelp, i remembered the day i bookmarked it. today it became a reality, i finally got to try it. i decided to add them on IG and make an order via text. Very fast response from the owner. She was also very friendly. i got 4 pasteles and 2 gandule rice. came out to $32. it's definitely worth every penny! if you haven't tried it yet, you gotta go! check their IG: latinas_kitchen for more updates on which location she's at!

Pastele and gandule rice is amazing ! I had the plate in the past and loved it ! So flavorful and delicious ! I also had this dessert puertorican rice pudding " Arroz con dulce" which was so ono I didn't want to share lol! 5 months ago I started my " vegan journey " and I no longer eat meat so latinas kitchens VEGAN pastele stew and gandule rice bowl for $10 it was such a treat! The flavors in the rice just explode with every bite and the pastele stew is very filling and flavorful as well ! packed with bell pepper purple sweet potato tofu and other veggies it had my tastebuds going off , must try!

Been following this truck for about 6 or more mths now since my aunty introduced me to them. I've been fortunate enough to stop by their numerous locations and events over the mths but have always been out of luck w the pastele musubi. I was told it normally sell out fast like with in the 1st 15 mins fast. Today I saw them at the kapolei Target 10 yr anniversary celebration and finally got a chance to try their pastele musubi...yumm.Their cornbread reminds me almost of my mom's cornbread which is my fav.I have still yet to try the pastele bcuz everytime I go and wana get it I end up getting the pastele stew instead, next time. No joke the line forms quick and gets long fast, I was 9th in line, they weren't open yt but the line kept growing. Get their early sheesh grab your umbrella from your car if gota lol.Follow them on fb or Instagram. I think they post more on Instagram tho.

I've followed Latina's kitchen on IG for months but only recently was able to try her food. We exchanged messages and I was able to drive down to Waipahu and pick up my order. I ordered 4 containers of pastele stew. It was so good that I ate it for dinner every night for about 4 nights straight! As I ate I remember thinking "wow, she really didn't skimp on the pork in this" as there were big chunks of pork throughout the stew. Most places will put only a few pieces of meat but not Latina's kitchen..nope. Lot's of meat in there.I can't wait to try her other dishes as well, especially her vegetarian dishes:)

Food truck at its finest! They have Puerto Rican food with an island twist. The have the standard pastele plate and stew but they also have pastele musubi and pastele stew lumpia. Prices are good and not too long of a wait.

Omgoodness, where have you been all my life?! I have grown up eating pastele and pastele stew. Coming from the Big Island I haven't found anything close to what I am used to. I saw it was destiny for me to come across them on Instagram. I recently decided to do a challenge with my co-workers on a vegan kick. They had extra VEGAN pastele stew "advertised" on their page. I needed something good, vegan isn't easy as I love meat. Not to mention, eating options are much slimmer then what I have done my entire life.I was able to pick up in Waipahu/Kunia. *bonus* it's close to home for me. They only had spicy left; I'm not the best with spicy but my family does. Ok so I ate both bowl all by myself! It was sooooo good! A good spice, excellent flavor! I can't wait to come back for more, I seriously could eat this everyday! I've referred my co-workers too! Excellent cooking' Latina's Kitchen!

This is the best thing I've eaten in a while. Being a plant based eater, this is as good as any Puerto Rican food out there, HANDS DOWN!!! Is wonderful knowing places like this exist, offering Vegan alternatives to foods we love. Something I've been craving for a while. I will definitely be a regular customer...no doubt. Latinas Kitchen is a God Send. Thanks for the delicious food.
