Latin Dance Hawaii

They call it Latin dancing for a reason. It should be taught by Latinos. Not Caucasians. Would you want to learn anything cultural by people other than their own culture? That's called cultural appropriation and it's borderline racist. Imagine learning a Native American dance by someone not Native American? Can you even imagine that? Or lei making and hula dancing from someone not from the Islands? I paid for the entire package absolutely sure that I was going to be taught by actual Latinos, as is the custom. They are Caucasians appropriating Latin culture and profiting from it. It's a shame. They didn't even give me my money back even though they knew that this offended me and that I only went to 2 classes. They should have given me the money back for the classes that I did not attend, no matter the reason. If you don't eat a taco because you don't like it for whatever reason, you get your money back for it. So they basically pocketed my money. I understand that my feelings are my feelings and I choose to feel this way. That's on me but I didn't like the class and I choose not to go back. So I should not have to pay for it and that's that! I should not have to have my money stolen from me. And I was polite about asking for my money back. I am not being polite anymore and I will not take down this review! Cultural appropriation is offensive to a lot of people. And I understand that some people don't get it. But if you don't like something for whatever reason, no matter what that reason is, then you shouldn't have to pay for it. You don't get a service provided, then you should get your money back! Not a good way to do business.

Stefan and Andrea are awesome! They teach very well and can break down everything simply enough for even people starting off with bad rhythm to be able to dance well. Started dancing in their class back in January 2024 and will be dancing with them for the foreseeable future. Highly recommend.

Great customer service! They show so much Aloha and patience. Very thorough in the teaching trust you will learn here. The instruction is clear and the Instructors take their time with you.
