Let's be honest, this is no Kapolei Commons so don't expect it BUT I appreciate that we have this little theatre so we have the option of staying close to home(I live on the NS). Yes, they could do a little updating but I'm not coming here expecting to recline in luxury sipping on champagne *get real* Their prices are comparable to theaters in town but sometimes I don't want to pay $20 gas and would rather use that on dinner instead. This movie theatre is GREAT and offers great options for all in the family. If you're wanting to watch an adult R movie this is not the place for you LOL. GRATEFUL for business owners who make a difference in our community. This little mom & pop theatre offers so much to our community and I'm grateful for that. Thank you for keeping this theatre going for all of us on the North Shore who don't always want to drive into town.

Thanks for bringing the true story of the Spirt of the Game, the Mormon Yankee to Hawaii. Great movie, but a bit confusing at times of who's who. Anyways I stayed awake!

Laie Palms CinemaKeep your money, buy a bus ticket round trip to any of the theaters in Honolulu and enjoy a real movie. There used to be a commercial before some of the movies in Dole at least - had big action screens going on in the screen and then the picture got smaller and smaller til the size of a phone - with a tag line of go big or go home. Here is why you watch some movies like a Star Wars/ Star Trek or Pearl Harbor- ON the Big SCREEN. Action! I get it a Michael Moore film or English Patient or a documentary on dung beetles or library studies can be done on any screen. I don't think the place is clean at all. Part of the reason I go to the movies is the 'illusion' of things being better than my own house. The front lobby- I think is horrible. People are maybe friendlier than other places but that is to be expected. Less people served= less problems in general. I suggest going to a bigger theater.

The northern side of the island offers only one cinema option. This formerly chain-owned theater, was closed but reopened as a family business. It is located in a strip mall that was probably built in a he 1980s. It only has two screens, so you won't get a wide selection of films to choose from, but the theater has been updated with modern sound and projection systems. I saw Dunkirk and was impressed with the quality of the sound. The screen was a bit small, but the seats were comfortable. We had hoped to buy hot dogs, but were told they were out of them. We then quickly ran to get a something to eat at one of the fast food restaurants in the strip mall. We got back in time to buy popcorn. This was another disappointment - as they but way too much butter on it. Glad to support an independent movie theater, but I have to knock off a star for the food issues.

Yesterday 11/11/19 I went to the theater to just purchase buttered popcorn at 3:30pm. Got home to eat it and discovered that the popcorn was stale! I know they use real butter but still the popcorn was stale. Don't know when they freshly pop it, since this was for the first movie showing! I love popcorn and know the difference between freshly popped and old stale popcorn!

Darin O. is correct, this is not a large chain movie theater, nor are they trying to be!They pride themselves on providing a more friendly small town theater experience. If you are looking for huge screens in a typical chain movie theater you will need travel a good hour or so into the city. But, if you are looking for a family fun, local, and intimate movie experience there is no better place in all of Oahu.

This theatre has improved a million times over. I remember coming here years ago. It wasn't wasn't at all, the smell and sticky floors were horrible. But since the new owner had taken. It's defiantly a place to bring the family. It's clean (a huge plus) and very friendly. The staff seems always ready to assist you for anything. It's nice and simple and close might I add! Super happy with this place and hopeIt stays around forever!!!

Laie is a small community, so don't expect to be spoiled with fancy amenities like recliner chairs. This is a family owned business and they do a good job to keep the theaters going. Most of the time I don't want to drive to town just to watch a movie. Yes, there's only two screens but it is rarely crowded. The family is always nice. The popcorn is delicious. They still offer military and student discounts. I do think it could use some updating but I am okay with the way it is now!

The Palms has by far the best popcorn on the planet. Sometimes I think of going to other theaters for a more modern feel yet the popcorn is never the same. They use real butter on fresh popcorn. The prices are good and the atmosphere is nice and friendly. While there are only two movies at a time they usually have good picks. The owners are often in the front to great the patrons with a smile and they take the time to thank you and to help you enjoy the experience. The layout inside the actual theaters is unique but it provides a good viewing area of the screen and there is room for the family. The popcorn and the people are what make this place special. I feel safe bringing my children here as there are never huge crowds or delinquents hanging outside like you might see at other theaters.
