We stopped by on a Monday (holiday) since we were in the area grabbing lunch. The shop was very clean and had lots of delicious pastries and bread on display. I grabbed the mango sugar lavosh ($7) and a bag of 3 baguettes ($5). The cashier gave us a free pastry which is their chocolate croissant doughnuts. The owner? manager ? said he really liked it and it wasn't too sweet. I think I like the likikoi sugar lavosh better than the mango. The baguettes are so delicious especially when you heat them up. I put mine in the air fryer and spread butter on it. Finally the chocolate croissant doughnut was also super good! As promised it was not overly sweet. My husband and I really enjoyed it.

La Tour Bakehouse and La Tour Cafe are just a few doors apart. Don't get confused. The Bakehouse offers only baked items such as bread, buns, and cookies. La Tour Cafe serves sandwiches and drinks. We had lunch at Tanaka Saimin, my wife decided to go to the Bakehouse. We picked up raisin bread, cinnamon rolls, and butter flake buns. Typical of other Japanese bakeries. The interior was spacious, and items were neatly dispdisplayed. The service was cordial from the Japanese worker. Enjoy

Since we bought some things from la tour cafe a few doors down, thought we would come by here to see what kind of bakery items they would have like breads, etc. There was only one worker, did not acknowledge us when we walked in. She just looked at us, but said nothing. Very awkward. Bakery is very clean and has a lot of breads, ready made sandwiches and some cute little cakes. We ended up not purchasing anything, was weirded out so we just walked out. Hopefully next time we can get something as everything looked pretty fresh.

Five stars because all sales are being donated to a good cause. I'm a fan of this bakery's bread and Lavosh so I figured since I was next door enjoying a ginormous bowl of saimin I'd stop and see what they had in the new bakehouse. The first things that caught my eye were the almond croissants.....almond and chocolate almond. At $5 each I wanted to try however I wasn't impressed 3/5 stars. I like my croissants more buttery and these just didn't make the grade, dry imho, I think the 12pk from Costco (plain) are by far a better made choice. Also tried the Taro pastry (think manju) and the Sweet potato pastry. I liked them more than the croissants but there just wasn't much flavor 3.5/5 stars. Got a round of their organic Sourdough bread....winner 5/5 stars. Heated it wrapped in foil and served with softened butter and the entire loaf was gone along with the shrimp curry dinner! The Manapua was a freebie, I chose pork, and it was different. The pork was a small puck with rice threads and chives mixed in and half a small hard boiled egg on top then wrapped in steamed dough. Not what I was expecting. It was flavorful but I don't think I would buy it. 3/5 stars. The shop itself is small but the space is well utilized. The cashier was very helpful and told me if I spent $40 I could get the canvas tote at no charge...since I was already at $34 I trapped those Taro & Sweet potato pastries. Love the bag 5/5 stars! Parking is fronting the Bakehouse and right next door to Party City on Nimitz. I'll be back for more of their sourdough bread...lately I just haven't been able to find a tasty sourdough but the product sold here was delicious. They also had pumpernickel which is hard to find so next time I'm getting a loaf of that to try.

Oh my dough! Today felt like a carb needed day so we ventured to the bake house so we can stock up for the week! As a pillsbury doughboy lover, I giggled in delight with the wide variety of goods here, along with the current promo of spending $40 to get a big tote bag + Manapua! Thank you fellow Yelpers Irene, Nadine, Jackie for reviewing first! Congrats on your grand opening! I have frequented the cafe and bought some bread from Costco before so I know I love their products. We got a variety of goods: croissant loaf $8, pumpernickel rye loaf $8, kalamata olive loaf $8, lilikoi lavosh $7, brioche buns $5, onion hoagies $5 for a grand total of only $41! What a haul! Love the complimentary adorable tote bag and free Manapua too! My favorites were the croissant toast, pumpernickel rye, and onion hoagies. The pork and sweet potato Manapua were yummy! I love that all proceeds will be donated to the Hawaii community foundation until the end of November. What a generous way to support our community and eat some delicious dough! A side note is that they do not take cash, so bring your card to pay! The perfect gifts to share with your friends, family, and neighbors. Will definitely be back!

Shout out to Nadine C. and Donna O. I've been wanting to check La Tour Bakehouse during the grand opening. I love that 100% of its sales from July 26, 2024 through November 30, 2024, will be donated to the Hawaii Community Foundation (HCF). HFC's mission states: "We inspire generosity, advocate for equity, forge connections and invest in community to create a better Hawai'i."Website: www.hawaiicommunityfoundation.orgAs you enter the Bakehouse, you will see racks and racks of baked goodies. The interior is brightly lit and clean. There was one employee present at the time of our visit. She was friendly and helpful to us. Service: 5/5 stars. I picked up sweet bread rolls, palmiers, lilikoi lavosh, raisin bread, double chocolate, guava and macadamia nut cookies for a grand total of $42.00! My Dad will enjoy the bread and our island visitors will get the cookies! We are keeping the raisin bread, lavosh and palmiers. I tried the palmiers and it was delicious! Light, crispy and slightly sweet. Perfect! 5/5 stars. My dad tried the sweet bread roll and he enjoyed it. I took a piece to try and it was lightly sweet and a little on the dry side. I think jelly or a light toast would be great. 4/5 stars. The Liliko'i Lavosh tasted yummy and had that expected crunch. Not sure about any Liliko'i taste, but there was a sweetness to it. 4/5 stars. We have tried the cookies in the past and know the cookies are very popular and tasty. The raisin bread has a Japanese white bread chewy texture and the raisins are plentiful. Very tasty just as is and without toasting or butter. Next time I want to try the cinnamon raisin bread. Today's mochi was sweet potato at $3.50 for 3 pieces. A great deal. There are refrigerated items also for sale. Great to visit now and give back to the community. Everything is reasonably priced and tasty. And yes, I got the adorable canvas bag!

Shopping in Honolulu, Hawaii...Every time I pass the "Grand Opening" sign on Nimitz Highway, I tell myself I'm going to stop in one day... and I did!La Tour Bakehouse is located between 7-Eleven and Tanaka Saimin at La Tour Plaza. The free shared parking is much appreciated!Air conditioning inside the shop was very pleasant! The shelves are covered with all kinds of breads and cookies. The table in the middle was filled with different types of scones, cinnamon rolls, almond croissants, and pastries. I saw the cute tote bag on the wall and noted that it was free with a purchase of $40 or more. I got a lot of gifts: a box of cookies a cinnamon rollan almond croissant Two chocolate almond croissants a package of garlic crispsTwo containers of mochi (peanut butter and sweet potato)It was challenging to reach $40 because everything was so reasonably priced! I wanted to get a ham and cheese sandwich on Japanese bread, but it was only $3.50, and I was going to go to dinner soon...I gave the mochi to my friend's children - they loved it and exclaimed that $3.50 per container is such a good deal!I gave 3 pastries to our sacristan at church and told her that the owner's sons graduated from my alma mater!I had a chocolate almond croissant for lunch - yummy! The filling wasn't too sweet!I had some garlic crisps... they're crunchy, flavorful, and addicting! The cashier was very efficient and friendly!I even received a free manapua from her!I want to return because the proceeds go to charity! (Hawaii Community Foundation until 11-30-24)

Baked goodness...What we all have seen at the various local Farmers Market has it's very own retail shop just a few doors down from their restaurant is right here at La Tour Bakehouse. You can find just about everything but the Macarons from cookies, scones, and even manapua. The variety of baked goods they have is impossible to mention them all but know that they have it all here at our convenience without waiting for the specific market that we usually find them in.The lady here was very lovely and friendly mentioned the different cookies they have along with the sandwiches which is only$3.50 (ham or turkey) using their Japanese bread with lettuce and American cheese I just couldn't resist and got one for an after work snack. I also got a loaf of the croissant toast as i know a friend who loves croissant and is going through a rough time which i though would cheer her up and loves toast as well which is a win win choice for sure. The lady gave me a pork and egg manapua as well which was so thoughtful and was thinking of getting it but was afraid if i didn't like it but now will definitely give it a try and will be back for more bread now that i know I can easily find them here in one spot.Thank you!
