The Good, awesome bacon and eggs breakfast with 4 slices of bacon. Customer service is okay not too friendly.The Bad, don't order any deluxe for your sandwiches. Terrible terrible very thinly sliced tomato and only one slice. The iceberg lettuce one small piece barely cover the bun. The round onion very thinly sliced tomato slice too. Not worth the extra $$.The cashier asked if I wanted my receipt, " I said No, use it for the lettuce that's how thin the deluxe sides are ridiculously paper thin. I'll go back for only breakfast for me.

Right after we checked out the botanical garden, L&R Drive Inn was right at the exit. So we pulled in and decided to grab a quick bite.L&R is a combination of Hawaii food, with a Chinese twist. Great combination! The menu is extensive so there's something for everyone. Take your time going through the menu.I went with the half garlic chicken/half beef & broccoli combo. It was delicious! You can definitely taste the wok flavor, which means the heat was high. That's exactly what I look for in Chinese cooking. The chicken was tender, filled with roasted garlic. The beef and brocolli was amazing. I was very impressed! My fiancee got the short rib plate and it was cooked to perfection. The meat was charred and marinated very well, it was super tender. Overall, we were blown away by the taste and quality of the food! Highly recommended if you're in the area. We will definitely come back next time!

A really put together & clean whole in the wall restaurant. Decided to grab dinner here since the hubs works nearby, we used to come here religiously for dinner but stopped coming for awhile. Just got dinner recently and wow they upgraded their menus! So high tech and fancy now. They offer all types of different varieties of plate lunches, burgers, saimins, etc. My go to is usually the bbq chicken or chicken katsu. I decided to try something different and tried out their sweet sour spareribs. The spareribs was really good I wish it was a little more tender but overall taste was good! I love their katsu sauce it's sweet, tangy & peppery. I always get French fries at drive inn's because I love the crinkle fries, but this one seemed to have the shoestring fries. No complaints because they cook it fresh & it was PIPING hot when I got it. Food portions are HUGE and for the price? Dang can't beat. I feel like this is a family owned business and I love supporting small and local business owners. The cashier much older Asian lady was really nice and helpful. My husband is a very very picky eater but he seems to love this place more than L&L or other plate lunch restaurants. I'll be coming back to try their other food items on their menu. I highly recommend giving them a try. You can't beat good prices, good food & good service!

Solid plate lunch! Been coming here for years when I lived in Kaneohe. Now that I had a son, I had to show him the classics! Ordered a mix plate with beef stew, chicken katsu curry, and the mapo tofu! Huge plates and good prices! Quick with the food and off I went! Everyone loved it and was stuffed! A must stop if you're looking for a classic Hawaii plate lunch!

First time here after living in the mainland,for 43years,small corner restaurant, busy small parking lot. About 8 dine in tables. Good size menu, they also do catering.Lots of variety for any taste @ occasion. Ordered their chicken katsu, from the friendly lady out front. Waited about 10 minutes for this order to go, box of goodness! Steady customers about 12:30 pmmostly take out, with a couple dining in. Took home & opened up to a full box of 2 scoops of white rice, one scoop of Mac salad & a generous portion of perfectly breaded and fried chicken katsu, comes with dipping sauce. A nice lunch & happy & satisfied returning customer!

I love L&R. So far my most favorite place to grab a plate lunch. I haven't been here in almost a year so there was a bit of a change to their menu. I tried their combination plate of BBQ short ribs & Beef Broccoli today and it's almost like I'm eating here for the 1st time again. It's sooo good!

Great value. Chicken katsu is very crispy and meaty. Beef stew is tasty with plenty beef, unlike other plate lunch places that give mostly carrots and potatoes. Hamburger patties taste homemade with light gravy is yummy.

We come here once a week to pick up a plate of chicken katsu for dinner. The boys love it (and prefer it over L&L) and the portions are so generous. The owners are really nice too. Call in your order ahead of time to save on time. The parking lot can sometimes get crowded during peak meal times (this establishment shares parking with Masa & Joyce and Kin Wah, which are landmarks in Kaneohe), but just be patient as cars are constantly pulling in and out of stalls. In addition to the katsu, we also like the eggplant (ala carte), which is made Chinese-style. It has a kick to it, so if you don't like spicy foods, ask for it mild.

Great hole in wall spot, family ran.Not a fancy place but the food was hot, fresh & came out quickly. The lady who took order was kind & attentive.FYI -- they do Not have a public restroom, but there is across the street at the local grocery store (Longs Drugs).
