Trying to decide what I wanted at the ala moana food court and what I really wanted to try was roots and greens but they ran out of what i wanted. So L.A. Brisket was next to it and the aunties were yelling sample sample. I didn't try a sample and looked pretty good so let's give it a try. I got the brisket bowl which came with rice and coleslaw. The meat was good super soft and with the sauce it tasted even better. Coleslaw was alright but the rice was seasoned and really good. My small plate was $19.81 with tax but what do you expect it's ala moana.... i was going to get a steak and shrimp plate from another place but it was $27 & would be way too much for myself. The portion size for the brisket bowl was perfect for me. I will be back again with my husband if we ever go to ala moana food court since he loves brisket.

Although this place is in a food court, the bbq here is quite good! We shared the Honolulu bowl which had brisket and double pulled pork (they were out of chicken) and we subbed the slaw for mac and cheese. Both the brisket and pork were tender and moist. The meat had a good flavor to it too. The rice tasted like your standard rice but the mac and cheese was just ok. It had almost a nacho cheese flavor to it which I thought was a bit odd. It was also an additional $3 charge which I don't think was worth it. I wouldn't mind coming here again but I do think it's a bit pricey for what you get especially in a food court. At least the portions are a good size!

Talk about a new favorite spot. Like any other local, I avoid the Ala Moana food court because I know there are better places outside and because I try to support smaller, local businesses. But take this as a WARNING: do not take the sample...because it definitely worked. My husband took the sample and since it was my turn to pay for dinner, he worked his hardest to convince me we gotta eat here and he didn't convince me, the sample did.I love the combo deal! I forget what we got, I just know I got brisket and three sides. Instead of rice I got salad and we also got potato salad and mac and cheese on the side. I believe in total I paid about $17, which is not that bad considering you pay the same amount for a meal at Raising Cane's down the aisle and it doesn't match what you get here. The aunty's at the front are so sweet too! They hand out their samples and they know once they hook you, they're gonna help you get the best deal possible. Which by the way, the sides are fire too! I already went back twice just to grab the mac and cheese side for only $6! Perfect for a budget meal! Yeah, I'll be back for sure. And you should try them too!

Located in the food court at Ala Moana shopping center, makai side, you can miss this place with aunty yelling "free samples!", and make sure you get a sample! Brisket is so tender and juicy, we were hooked. Ordered the bbq sandwich and brisket with slaw. Fries were ok, but I've had better. Service was pretty quick, and finding a table was crazy, but it's the food court. Noisy and busy, you can always find a table, just make sure you hover and swoop in before someone else does. A bit on the pricy side for a sandwich, but it was so tasty... and filling!

Being an LA foodie I was pumped when I saw L.A brisket at the Makai Market Food Court.Brisket here is fall apart with a fork tender and it really just melts in your mouth when you eat it. Great smoky flavor with that soft texture makes this brisket top tier.If you're with more than one person, make sure they grab a table for you while you order because this foodcourt can get super packed!

We were at Ala Moana doing some holiday shopping and needed a quick lunch. As we looked around trying to decide what to get the aunty slicing brisket offered us a sample. We were sold! I got a brisket sandwich with the bbq sauce on the side, and my husband got the pulled pork the same way. There was no need for the sauce. The brisket was juicy and flavorful, as was the pulled pork which had a mild, smoky flavor. The buns were soft and lightly toasted. My husband also got potato salad which he really liked. The portions were large. Pricing was about what you'd expect ($16)While the ambiance in a food court is never my favorite, everything seemed well-maintained and relatively clean. If we're back at Ala Moana I would definitely eat L.A. Brisket again.

Want protein but you're in the mall and don't want to fork over all your dough? Check out LA Brisket! Located in Ala Moana's Makai Food Court inside from the Curry House, with tons of seating! They have chicken also but I've only had their brisket! The Brisket Bowl is suffice for under $20! Comes with garlic rice and choice of side, and some au jus, but da brisket is really, really good for Hawaiian standards. Hawaii doesn't have many places that make brisket, but as one of the few, this is worth the price! Also, had the Brisket Salad, for times when I don't feel like rice! Both are close in price under a Jefferson!!Service is pretty friendly and standard hea for counter service food. Plus, they are constantly offering samples to get EVERYONE to try their brisket! If you haven't tried, you should at least try the sample! Will definitely be back when I have the craving for brisket again! Till my next craving, Grind On, Pau!!!

How does this place have 3.5 stars (at the time of my review)??? I think this place is extremely underrated. The garlic rice is delicious, brisket tender, pork juicy, and chicken flavorful. Service was easy and nice. I have a craving now for this place. The rice!! I think the honolulu bowl (plate) is the best with all 3 meats to try.

I feel like for what you get it is over priced. I can't have any mail so instead of letting me supplement a salad I had to get three scoops of garlic rice, which didn't actually contain any garlic but a lot of garlic flavor. The brisket was OK lots of fat and gristle on the pieces I was given, and when I actually got down to the meat that was good to eat it was decent flavor, but I'm from Texas so I have a high expectation with brisket. The sample I was given was delicious, which is why I tried the bowl, but for the amount I got and for the amount I paid which was $22. I felt like it was way overpriced. It did however fill the void for me, missing brisket in Texas.
