So first things first, yeah their red plate prices are red-onkulous. But! If you don't get the red plate stuff the experience is great! They get the good wasabi paste here, Kikkoman shoyu, and the don bowls use sushi rice. Yes, the conveyor belt does work but yes also they take your order if you want anything you don't see on there. The staff is super on it -- fast and very nice! I tried the coffee float on a whim and it was delicious (I don't even like coffee but I was happy with it, and I believe a coffee drinker would also agree the coffee in it was pretty good). Everything was clean and in good repair. Comfortable. I'd love to come here again!

No longer the "cheaper-than-genki" place it once was years ago. Prices feel like I'm at an airport or something. We intended to only spend 2 plates per person because of the relative price shock, but the kids were hungry and we had to spend more than we wanted to. Food available on conveyor belt is a nice throwback. You don't see that post-pandemic/these days. Service was very attentive. It wasn't a struggle to find someone to fill up drinks and make multiple, sporadic orders. So I'll tip em well for that. But dang... it's like inflation-plus-some over hurrrrrre.

Kuru Kuru is a nostalgic conveyor belt sushi joint located in Kahala Mall. This is a popular spot for locals to grab a quick and cost effective bite to eat when running errands or seeing a movie. The service is always fast and efficient. I have fond memories coming here with my family and every time I visit, this place never disappoints. The ambiance is no frills but great for families and solo diners alike. My go to dishes are the crab mayo, seared garlic hamachi, and tekka maki. Their prices are so reasonable and have increased slightly over the years just like anything else in this economy. They price each item with a color coded plate system that makes the whole experience easy for customers to order and close out. Fulfill your craving for conveyor belt sushi at Kuru Kuru!

Please please please I beg of you. Idk who the owners are anymore but you guys need to change your business model. It's sad to see the Pearl Kai Kuru Kuru closing. We're pleading with you to go back to how great the old Kuru Kuru's were. This location is starting to look as dated as the one that's closing. Wait times are long even though there are a lot of seats open. It doesn't seem like you have enough staff working especially during busy hours. Please bring on the Pearl Kai workers and keep incentivizing them to make your business great again. Your prices are out of control and your food quality is stagnant. We've been telling you for years to improve or face closure and that's what came of your Pearl Kai location. Please listen to our pleas so that you guys stay open for years to come!

Went in on a weekday afternoon and was excited to eat some sushi and we all know that conveyor belt makes the food hit different...I just wish it was being used.Nothing extravagant about the food, although I do admit the wonton spicy tasted a lot better than expected. But again, that conveyor belt really makes the food hit different! I really wish it was being used more!Gotta give the servers and chefs a lot of credit. Disrupting the servers flow to order from them over and over gotta take up some time, but they're fast and efficient. That translates into the food as well, the speed was perfect for someone who has a one hour lunch break. I was able to get seated, eat, order three different times, and still come out with lots of time to spare on my lunch break. Overall experience: service was fast, food was good for a quick solo lunch break, I just wish there was more use of the conveyor belt.

Sushi with a lot of rice. Not cheap but easy to get filled up. Fast service. Quality is good but not fancy. One up from supermarket sushi. For the price I would not recommend.... Staff and service is good. Value is not justified for the sushi you get.

I usually get the salmon or ahi don which I think is pretty good. I also enjoy their ika, chicken karaage and natto maki. Keep up the great work.

Looking into the restaurant from the Kahala mall hallway, there's nothing striking about this place. It's a typical conveyor belt sushi place, so might think that the quality of the food would be mediocre at best. But as they say, you can't judge a book by its cover. The food here is excellent!Four of us dined here this evening and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We sat in a booth, which allowed us to interact with our servers. The service was excellent! Both servers frequently checked in on us to take orders and refill our water and tea. They were attentive without being intrusive and as a former server myself, I appreciated the level of service they provided! As for the food, the nigiri and rolls we ordered were exceptional. The fish was super-fresh and arrived nicely chilled. And though all the sushi I had was great, I was particularly impressed with the hamachi nigiri I ordered. And lest I forget, the cuts of fish were much larger in comparison to many places we've frequented over the years. In addition to the sushi, we started out with some chicken karaage which was excellent as was the tofu appetizer and the croquette. We also got small servings of their ahi, salmon, and spicy hamachi poke. Fantastic! We were all impressed at the quality of the food. Add to that the reasonable prices, and this a great place to go and have high-quality food that won't break the bank.We will be coming back!

Second best sushi place in Honolulu. Kabocha tempura can't be beat and the unagi and hamachi for sure. Friendly service. The staff are very nice and helpful. It was hard to believe that this place used to be a Carl's Jr. and Burger King before this place was Kuru Kuru Sushi. Man, I'm literally this old. The ambiance is nice and reminds me of Genki.
