I am moved by Kukui's sausages. The King Kong hotdog is the way to go. Smothered in cabbage, currywurst sauce, cheese, and a gigantic Portuguese sausage, this dog was nothing short of satisfying and substantial. I'm not gonna lie, I might've gotten emotional over how juicy and flavorful the wiener was. Took some good bites; I have a pretty big mouth but it was difficult for me to not get sauce all over my face. The tangy kimchi sausage was not my favorite and I realize now that pairing it with the salsa on top might've been sour overload. But still a unique and tasty sausage for those who want to try something different. You can find this place at the KCC Farmer's Market every Saturday morning. :) There's a long line but it moves fast and you will be gobbling down that sausage in no time!

The first place to go at the KCC Market...With lifestyle and location changes it's been decades since I've been back at the KCC Farmers Market and this was the first place me and my besties would go after our morning hike up Diamond Head. Still occupying the same exact spot with the line snaking around the tent you can see them grilling it all up and it is just incredible!- Portuguese- Chicken- Pineapple- Italian- Pastele- Kimchee- Spicy- Chorizo- GyozaYou can enjoy these sausage on a bun for $7 or on a stick $6 though they have more options now to add toppings calling it their "Specials" and their best seller "King Kong Hotdog" and though I've tried majority of them the newest one for me is the Gyoza and you know I just had to try it.Enjoying it simply on a stick is the only way for me the gyoza sausage is just excellent! It tastes just like the filling of the gyoza I was just blown away...you can absolutely taste the garlic and ginger I was in heaven!Yes the line is constantly long but they move very fast and efficient, the staff here is amazing and even comment of my accessories. The vibe is just as I remembered and am so thrilled!Thank you!

We were visiting the KCC Farmers Market and thought "why not" when we saw such a long line queuing at Kukui. I was glad we did, because the King Kong hot dog was toooo good! The King Kong hot dog is $10 and is topped with currywurst, cabbage, mayo, and cheese. The hot dog had a perfect grilled flavor and snap to it. It surprisingly wasn't too messy to eat, which showed how well-made our hot dog was. The lines look crazy long but don't fret because you're given your food almost immediately afterward or a little while after - they move very quickly. Definitely stop by if you're visiting Honolulu!

My sister and I first had the Portuguese sausage at My Cafe in Kapolei , Hawaii she liked it so much she looked to buy so we would have it for our rental house , she liked the mild flavor since she can't eat spicy foods anymore , so that is why I gave it a 5 rating

TL:DR - Delicious but not mind blowing.Located in the KCC Farmers Market, Kukui Sausage Co, offers up a ton of different sausages. You can choose the type of sausage, the size of it, and the toppings you want on it. There are quite a few options so I won't list them all here.I got the King Kong sausage, with Italian sausage. I was hoping to get the large size, which is literally like 2 -3 inches longer than a normal size bun, but they were already sold out of them. I opted for the smaller size sausage, which is the normal length of a bun. Covered in a curry like sauce, with cabbage, and melted cheese, the king kong was tasty. It has a nice savoriness with a little bit of sweet. The cabbage gives the hot dog a nice crunch. My only complaint was that the bun was cold and dry. I don't mind a soft bun, but this one was a little bit on the drier side, leaving my mouth quite pasty. If they toasted the buns, now we're talking!Overall, a delicious hot dog that I finished in about 5 seconds.

Ono Portuguese sausage! We first had Kukui Sausage at the KCC farmers market. Sold on a stick, it was flavorful, juicy, and Portuguese sausage perfection!I decided to visit the source of sausage deliciousness in Kalihi. Located on a narrow street in an industrial part of Kalihi, Kukui Sausage Co is in a small, unassuming building that literally blends into the surrounding area. There's a small parking lot in front. Prices are reasonable $3/8oz pkgs and $5.50/1lb. Apparently the 1 lb sausages have a coarser grind and results in a chunkier texture. My favorite flavors are Portuguese spicy and kim chee. Someday I'll have to try pineapple and patele. The sausages sold are frozen. So they're perfect to take back to the mainland! The folks that work here are all business. So, plan your order in advance if possible. The interior office is super tiny and no frills. Cash only and make sure you only park in front of Kukui Sausage Co. Apparently the local businesses are in a mini battle over parking and will not hesitate to tow if you're not supposed to be there. While I'm sure it's easier to buy Kukui Sausages in local stores, I'm glad we bought our sausages at the factory. It's worth the visit!

It pays to be a local...Standing in (a LOOONG) line about 25 deep at the KCC Farmer's Market, The Kukui Sausage Company is one of the most popular vendors, so if you don't arrive early enough, the wait time can be pretty long. One of the workers (who we later finds out is the owner) comes out from under the tent, walks directly to me and says "Brah, try come follow me" Straight past the line, over to the other side where you pick up frozen sausages and has his sister help us..SWEET! Their sausages are THE BEST in town. They are $4 on a stick, or $5 in a bun. We got our favorite Grilled Kim Chee Sausage on a bun. As always, it is SO ONO, we had to get more, to take home to Vegas because they do not have a website, and they do not ship to the mainland. They also offer other flavors-($2/pack) Pineapple, Italian, Pastele, Spicy, Chorizo,Portuguese(1#/$4.50) and Blood Sausage ($3) We got $20 worth and got a Pineapple, Pastele, Blood, and seven packs of Kim Chee beacause they're THAT GOOD! Now I know what else my parents can bring me on their next trip to the 702!ALOHA!!!Shaka Meter \uuu/ \uuu/ \uuu/ \uuu/ \uuu/ 5YELP 365 CHALLENGE 2014-(16/365) "The Ono One"

First visit, heard about this place through a good friend of mine. What a surprise! Steven was helpful, friendly and professional about his explanation of the preparations and different flavors that were available. I ended up buying 2 Portuguese, 2 kimchee, 3 gyoza, 3 spicy, 3 italian, and 3 pineapple. Tailgate bentos here we come! Definite place to frequently come to get great tasting and a good variety of locally produced sausage! Thank you Steven for being so gracious and helpful, I am for sure coming back!Helpful hint, Bannister street runs one way makai to mauka, so you need to come up from Dillingham or from the bottom of Gulick.

Is that a sausage in your pocket or are you just happy to see me? Well, judging by the tons of smiling faces around the Kukui Sausage tent at Saturday's KCC Farmer's Market, maybe they're loading up on sausage! I've been eating Kukui Sausage for over 30 years. Their sausage is much leaner than most other brands and my husband won't eat any other brand. I've been told by the owners that they use lean pork which is why it is so good. My youngest is addicted to their Italian Sausage. They also have Kim Chee, Pastele, Pineapple, Spicy Portuguese, Mild Portugeuese, Chicken. They serve it on a stick for $4 or in a bun for $5. When you're at the market, I know the line looks ridiculous, but it does move. So don't be intimidated by it. If you want to buy frozen sausage to take home, just walk over to the side of the tent by the freezer and they'll take your order right there. Their slogan is Kukui Sausage "The Ono One". You got that right!!
