Want to stay on the North Shore but don't want to spend an arm and a leg at Turtle Bay Resort!? This place is a great alternative right outside Turtle Bay's property! Each condo has different amenities and it's a bit difficult to choose one but my parents chose a fully stoked condo that had EVERYTHING you need! 2 air conditioners (one in the living room, one in the master bedroom), a GIANT sofa that literally fit 6 adults comfortably, a King sized bed in the master bedroom, a Queen size bed as well as a pull out couch in the second bedroom, a fully stoked bathroom complete with shampoo bottles, hairspray bottles, a blow dryer, even a curling iron(!), a dishwasher, tons of dishes, tons of extra blankets, pillows, and bath towels, even beach towels and beach bags! It was such a cute beach condo. Whoever owns this place seriously thought of EVERYTHING one would need to have a completely relaxing, worry-free stay! We got 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath condo with the view of pool. There were 4 of staying there and there was more than enough room for everyone. At the particular condo we were at, I loved how secure everything was. Everything was keyless! There was a key fob to get onto the property and we were able to create our own unique passcode to get in the house. There was a welcome letter explaining everything we needed to know about the condo and they even provided a binder with what to do in the area! They even provided a GIANT book of 5 minute bed time stories! How cute! There was also free wi-fi and they even attached a Maikai Card for discounts at Foodland! (For those from out of town, of course!) My dad had requested we have 3 stalls because my family all came in separate cars due to needing to transport lots of stuff for the wedding and Jean, the manager was very accommodating. We were allowed 3 parking passes and took 2 guest stalls as well as the assigned stall to our condo. Sorry for all those condos around us for taking up so many stalls! There is a walkway to Turtle Bay and the beach and it was a quick 5 minute walk away from our condo. We were able to explore the resort without paying any resort fees or high room rates. Hehe.Back on the property, the pool area was super cute with grills and a covered area to sit. We took FULL advantage of the pool and grilling area. In fact, our first night, we took over the whoooole area! We had a BBQ with 30+ people and it was a blast!! The pool does close at 9pm so we needed to be out by then but that was no problem because we started BBQ-ing early. Overall, I would definitely stay here again if I needed to stay on the North Shore! Just need to really do your research on picking a good one.. I'm not sure how my mom booked this place but it was definitely on the nicer, more modernized condos. My family was staying here for a wedding, therefore extended family rented out the 2 condos next door to the one I was staying at and theirs was nice but didn't have as much included (i.e. 2 air conditioners, a fully stoked bathroom, beach towels with beach bags, etc). Looking at other reviews, it's hit or miss at this place so ask a lot of questions and look at the pictures and read the description on the condos before committing!

Best way to stay!Clean and spacious, way more room for your money than anywhere else up on North Shore! It is close to fun and yummy spots! We hit the resort for food a few times (adds up with kids) but went down the road often. We hit the malasada truck (hot Hawaiian donuts) every single morning. The owners/workers were awesome tour guides! Every day they gave us a new drive or beach or spot to eat and spend the day. Also...hot donuts and strong coffee. Needed daily. Their truck is in the parking lot of the polynesian cultural center, about 2 or 3 miles south? Its pink. Easy to spot. There is also a thai food truck and some mexican food there! Great place to hit for dinner to take back! Definitely take the tip and hit the pink truck up. It made our week so much more fun to plan! The beach nearby was always quiet. Also a huge plus. And when people were there it was often families, good for us!

Kuilima Estates West #86 This is managed and rented by St George Rentals/Turtle Bay Rentals in St George Utah. It is not affiliated with Turtle Bay Estates in any way. They do not have an office in Oahu. Everything is done by email and phone. If there is a problem, you must call them and they will return your call when they get a chance. The condo was filthy and in terrible disrepair. They claimed there was a partial remodel in 2015. It was shoddy and half finished. It was the worst place we have ever stayed.1. Tile floors were filthy. Felt sticky to walk on.2. Pillows on bed had no pillow protector and had brown stains all over them.3. Fan on bedroom wall was caked with filth4. 24" bar table in kitchen was extremely wobbly and one of the stools was broken. Couldn't be used.5. Tile around toilet base had urine all around it.6. All pots and pans in kitchen were worn out and stained. Very flimsy and old.7. Floor next to the stove and next to the washer and dryer was very caked with dirt.8. Microwave had a crack in the door.9. Plates were cracked and chipped.10. All Lighting was inadequate. No lamps in the whole unit. Puck lights under the counter in the kitchen didn't work.11. No storage in the unit, especially in the bathroom. 12. No stopper for the sink in case you'd want to wash dishes.Management company sent us an email as soon as we left and asked about our stay. Said if there was any problems, they would address them. We have sent three emails and requested a response and phone call. Even sent pictures. They have not responded. We were deceived and scammed. Other units in this complex are rented by the reputable Turtle Bay Estates and are rented for much less than the $187.00 per night we paid.Do not rent from St George Rentals/Turtle Bay Rentals!

My wife and I decided to save a few bucks and stay in the estates verses the hotel. Let me tell you that it is definitely worth it! The space you get for your money is amazing and it is easy to have guests over without the feeling of being overcrowded in a hotel room.Within this place, you get a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living/dining room, and patio. The bed was a little too soft for me but it's because they used this foam cushioning over the bed. The space and closet were spacious. The bathroom was okay but probably needs better up keeping or an upgrade. There is a washer/dryer combo in the closet near the bathroom. An added bonus so you can dry wet bathing suits and wash your clothes before you leave so you have clean clothing. The kitchen is fully equipped although we really didn't use it much. If you are a budget, this is nice so you can prepare a meal for you and your family instead of eating outside. The family that owns the condo, has a few pictures on the of their children and some beautiful other photos throughout. They also have a TV and wifi that we honestly didn't use because we were out exploring the island most of the day. The patio opens up to a view of the golf course, really beautiful, lush and calming green.I definitely recommend staying here!!!

I think it matters who you rent from. We found our condo on VRBO, it was managed by the Moss family, and it's beautiful and clean. We checked out several homes before we made our commitment, and when the washer broke and I had to use the neighbor's washer, I was SO GLAD we stayed where we were. We were also staying there during the Iselle/Julio double whammy hurricanes that never quite hit Oahu. Great base of operations to explore inland and north shore. So, we had an updated kitchen, fully usable, with a lot of room to move. I made 2 dinners there, and all the breakfasts and most lunches. No table, but a large counter with lots of barstool seating. Worked great. We had two clean bathrooms. 1 Master king size bed/full master bedroom upstairs, with a two sink updated bathroom, and a huge close. Downstairs, another king sized bed, but a smaller room. Both rooms had TV, plus the television in the living room. The large loft had a bunk bed, a daybed, and two folding mattresses under the daybed where a trundle would normally go. This is where all the kids hung out and slept. We had a screen enclosed lanai with loads of beach stuff plus a bistro set. There was a hammock right outside the lanai, plus another small bistro set.We used the pool right in front near the lot, great pool.VERY comfortable for 2 families, with 4 kids total. We payed ~$1800 for 9 days/8 nights which included the cleaning fee; we split it between 2 families, so extremely affordable. We hit foodland and got the Mai Kai card, and that saved us a ton of money. That allowed us to take a few nice dinners, we ate cheap too (Fiji Market Curry in Kuhunu was great, also the Kuhunu Grill right near the sugarmill.)We drove to Turtle Bay Resort (you can walk but we had toddlers) to park in the lot and play in the sand via the public access. It's got a protected lagoon. Wear water shoes though, lots of lava rocks and sharp stones because there is an ancient lava flow that hardened into a spit. Really fun to scramble around on the rocks looking for hermit crabs.Things to know:There's no laundromat on the North Shore, and no public rooms at Kuilima. We tried to find one when our laundry went out. Aimee Moss was cool with us using another condo for laundry. There's no lifeguard at the beach as far as we could tell, so watch your kids. The surf is pretty mild (we were here in August.)If there is a hurricane or tropical storm warning, the locals buy ALL the water, flashlights and batteries and candles. Because the power and water go out a lot. However, the two hurricanes that tried to batter Oahu only got the Big Island, all we got was rain, so we returned candles to the store. We also ended up with tons of water. We stayed in unit #91. HIGHLY recommend this unit, and even more now because we went next door to do laundry and saw how shabby it was. The owners of #91 are super picky and ask that you take your garbage out daily and clean up all spills/crumbs, which we were on. That's because there are giant tropical cockroaches ready to take over the minute you mess up, and tiny ants are all over outside. Also, geckos and giant frogs, which I was glad for, because they eat the ants and cockroaches. No joke, the two cockroaches we did find were about 2 inches long. Never saw anymore, but we were on top of all crumbs let me tell you. If you are at all squeamish about this kind of stuff, you definitely don't want to stay "in the country", and check in to the hotel resort on the point, because there are critters everywhere. We loved it, and our daughters were excellent Gecko Spotters and Backyard Safari Action was happening every day.We left the condo spotless and vacuumed, all except two towels and the bedding was laundered.Really great space, very clean, very well-maintained, and usable. We spent our day time in Waipuha, Hale'iwa, and Kuhunu, and a whole day at Waimea Falls. We always came home to hot showers, gin and tonics, and cozy beds. It's a shame that not other condos were in similar repair/function! I've read a lot of reviews now of Kuilima Estates, and you just really need to be careful it seems. But we were really lucky, and we would TOTALLY stay here again. Our girls were really sad to leave.
