Kuakini Snack Shop

This little snack shop is convenient for anyone working in the building or for one who has time before or after a doctors appointment and wanting to grab a quick snack. It has a lot of snacks, soups, sandwiches and drinks for a snack and not really for a regular meal like breakfast and lunch. I guess that's why it's called a SNACK shop and not a cafe, deli, etc. I bought a Ham and Chesse sandwich and it was good! But, the size was for a kid? The Monster Energy Drink is a brand that I love to buy among the other brands out there for their taste and delicious flavors. For me, it's convenient as I am pretty much here at this building during the work day at least once or twice a day or more? I am glad that this place is here and the people working there are friendly too. I will continue to support this local place instead of the mainland owned 7-11 I am surprised that only a few people or more posted about this little snack shop. Maybe, the word will get out and more people in the building will come here for a snack during their busy day. Support local or they will disappear!

Don't know why I've never checked in here before! This is a cute little convenience store that is located on the first floor (street level) of the Medical Plaza building - not to be confused with the hospital nor the Physicians Tower. The store is small, bright and clean. When you enter, someone always greets you with a smile and a warm "good morning" or "hello". The store is staffed by Kuakini's wonderful volunteers. They are not "professional" store-keepers, but they sure do know how to keep the place nice! Everything here is self-serve. There's pastries, spam musubis, sandwiches, instant ramen bowls, cereals, candies, chips, teas, coffee, milk, juices, sodas...and....HOT SOUPS!!! The soups are delicious! Everyday, there are two choices of hot soups. Today's choices happen to be corn chowder and chicken wild rice. I've had both, and I like both soups! Prices are inexpensive. Customer service is friendly! Great service provided to patients and/or visitors who are looking for a quick little comfort nomnom while at the doc's!

I am a fan of their moist cornbread when delivered on certain days! The best cornbread, almost like mine that I bake for years...Gotta try it when they do have it, yummy!

Great little snack shop run by volunteers which sells musubi's and great soups. My favorite is their chicken wild rice. Only down side is they close on Wednesday's. They also have sandwiches already made in the fridge. It's cash only so make sure you bring enough cash.

Friendliest employees you will ever meet. They make your bad day a lot better, and everything here is good. Especially the soups, sandwiches, and musubis. Don't forget to bring cash though. They do not accept debit or credit cards. Also no bills over $50.
