Ko'olau Center

The Koolau shopping center has to be one of the most poorly designed and inconvenient shopping centers on this island. Times supermarket has no public restrooms, the Mexican restaurant there is pretty good and usually allows people to use if needed. The Koolau McDonalds is terrible on customer service! Not only do they have a number lock on the door, the employees there won't tell you the code until you order something! Even if you tell them you are going to place an order but have to use the restroom 1st! They are just ruthless! The old Koolau theater that is just sitting there wasting space and vacant should at least be opened so people can use the restroom while shopping over there. People with health issues should never be denied access to a restroom. There's no aloha in that!

Situated in the heart of the Ko'olau Windward side, Koolau Center is located on the main artery road directly across from the Valley of the Temples Memorial Park & the serene Koolau Mountains.If you are not used of the quiet environment and slow pace in life obviously you won't be able to enjoy this in a long run. No tall buildings in here just few essential businesses e.g. McDonalds, Times Supermarket, few restaurants like Ninja sushi, Koolau Drive Inn & Mexican Restaurant, movie theater and the city & county DMV.Life is simple and no loud ringings (this ain't like Waikiki). Tourists won't find excitement in here (unless you will visit Byodo-In Temple across). This is mainly a hub for locals who peacefully living it simply.Residents like me enjoy the serenity every time I come up here. And for sure will always love coming up here on the future.Mahalo for reading and happy juandering fellow yeeps!

Great center! Times McDonalds and a movie theater. Always go there to get flowers and foods for loved ones at Valley of the Temple.

Located in Kanehoe area, across from Valley of the Temples, it is a small shopping center. Plenty of parking and places to shop and eat.

Ko'olau center is a small little strip mall located in Kaneohe. It's basically across the street from Valley of the temples. It has a Times supermarket, movie theaters, some small restaurants, and the city and county DMV. Nothing too exciting. Came here since I needed to renew my drivers license, and the only thing available in the next 4 to 5 months was at Ko'olau.

Nice though limited tenant mix. Plenty of parking which is nice; it'll be interesting to see what new business is coming into the old theatre space.
