Good food with good prices for the amount they give you. Couldn't finish it all still had left over to take home which made a good little snack after a hike we did. 10/10 would come back again. Meat was very juicy

Finally ate here after all of these years and I'm glad I did. I recently had the Kalua pig salad which was huge and had a good taste with the sauce and papaya seed dressing. The pork is better with the sauce.I just wish they filled up the sauce cup. I think the should have a sauce dispenser if you need a bit more. The tacos were pretty good too though I thought the kalua seemed a bit dry (needs sauce).I also had a sandwich but can't remember the name. Everything I tried tasted good and I definitely will be going back to try other items.

11/12/24 Placed a phone order for one Wendy's Bomber at 12:25 pm. Ana said it will take 15-20 min. At 12:45 pm, arrived at the Kailua store to pick up my phone order. Male cashier checked the kitchen for my order ticket. No ticket. Proceeded to input my order on the register right then and said "sometimes the machine doesn't put the order through". I told him to cancel my order. I called ahead so that my order would be ready to go when I arrived. Extremely disappointing, will not return.

While exploring the Kailua area, I stumbled upon Kono's, a small eatery known for its pork-centric menu. It's an ideal spot for a quick, casual meal, with enough seating to enjoy your food onsite.I opted for the Old School sandwich, which didn't disappoint. The dressing was a standout--it added a burst of flavor and really tied the ingredients together. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the sandwich came with a side of chips, a simple but fitting complement. To drink, I tried the pineapple lemonade. Fair warning: it leans on the sour side, so if you like a bit of tang, it's worth a try.Service was prompt, and everything came out quickly, which is always a plus. While Kono's isn't groundbreaking, the sandwiches are high-quality and satisfying, making it a good choice for a quick meal in the area. Plus, they offer a fun incentive: if you have a tattoo of a surfing pig, you'll get a lifetime discount on your meals. A quirky perk that adds to the charm!

We wanted to try something new for lunch after our hike at Makupuu. Kono's caught our eye! There was so much variety in the menu but we finally decided on ordering the Kapahulu tacos and pork plate lunch. The plate came with the 12 hour slow roasted pulled pork which was just melt-in-your-mouth juicy. I am not usually a fan of pulled pork but this was so tasty! The tacos also came with juicy Kalua pork, which paired well with the guava bbq sauce. Overall, great tasting food! Would recommend trying it if in the area.

Food was just alright. Eggs tasted like microwaveable eggs and the Portuguese sausage tasted like hot dogs. However, the service was great. We went pretty early in the morning and they didn't have milk yet (yes, we wanted a milkshake at 10am in the morning lol) so they gave us free coffee.

This place is just ok. The milkshakes are super good and the bombers rule. The rest is mid, as my kids say. Don't show up within an hour of closing, they'll be the only restaurant in the Hawaiian islands that doesn't have rice (I suspect they shut the rice cooker down so they can clean and get out asap after closing - to me that's a management problem, pay the workers for the time it takes to serve until closing and for the staff to clean up). The bacon on the Avo BLT is the microwave kind, I'm not kidding. And the sandwich is $14.95! And the French roll is dry and just not good bread for a sandwich. Oh, and the peppermint milkshakes that are for December only....jeebers. I can see the container of peppermint on the back kitchen counter, but they won't make it past yesterday (12/31)...not super Aloha, IMO...just goes with the general vibe here. I'd give 2.5 stars if I could.

Really great and tasty food. Got the sprout bagel and added red onions to it, yummy. Also have had their wraps before and it has LOTS of meat. Good stop before or after beach, or need a snack!
