Tuck in a residential area is a small plaza that houses a few shops, a market, and this cute fresh rice establishment. Komedokoro M's uses exclusively Tsuyahime rice for their onigiris, bentos, and poke bowls. The rice is soft when hot but at room temperature, it firms up a bit and gives it a delicious chewy sweet texture. There were a lot of options for onigiri flavors. We ordered 2 onigiris, a butterfish bento, and a small half x half poke bowl. I only remembered to take a picture of the bento because we dug right into the food immediately. The poke bowl was quickly made, and tasted fresh and flavorful. The tsuyahime rice perfectly compliments it.Overall, it was nice trying a different variety of rice, considering I've mostly ate California Calrose rice and Thai Jasmine rice growing up. Tsuyahime Hine rice is not fragrant like jasmine rice. I feel what it excels in is staying delicious, soft and chewy even at room temperature. You can purchase the tsuyahime rice directly there. We bought a 2kg bag to enjoy back at the main land.

Never been to the actual shop, but they sell um at Times so no need go into Waiks! On a major mentaiko kick...I stuck it in the fridge and even cold, so far this is the best I've found on island. Rice good. Nori, obviously not fresh since I put in fridge, but still taste good. Choke mentaiko...got it in every bite. Perf. $2.99...so comparable to other musubi places.I'm a huuuuuuge fan. Now I gotta go try other "flavors."

I haven't had a lot of onigiri throughout my life, but the ones at Komedokoro M's were by far the best I've had. I recommend getting these onigiri: mentaiko, pork kakuni, and eel. We also enjoyed the half and half poke and the spam musubi.

Excellent musubi, including several vegetarian/vegan options. I picked up 3: kombu, hijiki, and plum & radish. All were delicious as beach lunch! High quality rice, seaweed, and fillings. Prices are reasonable, with most costing $2.50-$3. They close at 2pm, but by 11am they were already out of a few flavors - early bird catches the tamago! Note that they ARE open on Saturdays, despite what Google Maps may say :)

Komedokoro M's was one of my favorite eateries to stop by while I was in the area - their ongiris (they call them musubis) were made fresh on a daily basis, but note that some fillings get released later in the morning.I had:+the spicy tuna+chicken karaage+shrimp tempura+yakiniku beefKomedokoro M's also uses Tsuyhaime rice, in which they mill it everyday - high quality and cooked perfectly!Staff are super kind and friendly here; I was looking for the yakiniku beef onigiri, and they told me it would be in about an hour that it would get released; when I returned, she had saved me a few! Now, that's super thoughtful and great service!Great spot to pick up some snacks; they also have popular Ginza curry, bento boxes, and poke!Located in Eaton Square.+delicious onigiris+friendly service+located in Eaton Square

So I just happened to be in the area for a work seminar...random. But I needed lunch. It was around 12:30 noon and there were a few onigiri gone, but a lot were available. A lot of them mentioned the prefecture. They also sold white and brown rice, from Japan which I was tempted to buy. Onigiri with tamago had a nice jammy center and the rice was seasoned nicely, not salty. I should have bought more. The location is super strange. I've been all over Waikiki, but never here. It's in a residential area and the mall is more like offices and not really built for tourist if I'm being honest, but maybe years ago it was. It's worth the trek to find it.

I love this place! I was looking for a place to pick up lunch for a beach day at Lanikai that opens early and Komedokoro M's was open! They have a nice selection of freshly made musubis and bento boxes. Since I was there early some of the items were not available yet, but they quickly made them fresh for me. What excellent service! I love the grab and go concept. I will definitely be coming back for more.

The onigiri and poke bowl here are absolutely to DIE FOR. Best poke bowl I had on the island while I was here. Get the half and half. It's also very reasonable price wise for a poke bowl. For the onigiri, I highly recommend the pork kakuni and egg one, as well as the unagi one. They were both absolutely delicious--the pork kakuni is so tender and the combination with the soft boiled marinated egg is chef's kiss! Wouldn't hesitate to come back here again (in fact, I came back a second time in a two day period!).
