Wow talk about upgrades from the parks renovation. This park is awesome, , ...best on the state, definitely takes some notes from mainland parks. The playground area rope/bridge area, standard climb and play area, a swing, merry go round, and even a glove with rotating handle the plays music. The also added tables and a small work out area. If you haven't been here in sometime, bring your kids, they'll love it. This place does get PACKED, and even late into the night haha. Just as an example, it's a Sunday morning and there are some 25+ kids and almost equal 20+ parents here at the moment. What other just "park" with no event do you see that kind of crowd haha.

Small park but playground for the kids that serves the ward area and beyond. Very convenient location and parking can be done in the TJ maxx parking structure or street parking if you have to drive. Now it's under some major upgrade and everyone looks forward to its reopening!

This park was very nice, tucked away in the center of Waikiki-- there were some pros here: Lots of seating for parents (about 12 benches), a huge field for kids to run around in and an area well-kept. The cons (for me at least): there weren't that many things to do ... there's 2 slides, monkey bars, a small bridge and a climbing element or two. The major con for me is that the metal stairs leading up to one of the slides was a bit sharp and cut my toddler. He wasn't able to slide down the slides easily either... he kept sticking to the metal material. We had to cut our playtime very short because of the cut on his leg. He ended up saying he didn't have fun because he got hurt at this particular park. All in all, it's an okay place but maybe not great for toddlers.

You're never too old to go out and play...Kolowalu Park is that little patch of joy just down the street from Ala Moana Center steps away from South Shore Market. Cute play area for kids with benches easily giving you six feet of distance is comforting for some that craves that space. Depending on the time of day your there may be shaded from neighboring condos, the lack of shade can make it a challenge for some and basically impossible on rainy days. With it being a dog friendly neighborhood this park does have many bringing their dogs to this unofficial dog walking/park area to chill though it's not safe to leave children and pets unattended as their isn't any fencing to secure them from harm from traffic.I do like to take a quick break here whenever I'm walking to nearby places since parking right across at South Shore Market garage is free, besides using the bathroom there as well makes it only a logical place to park. This simple place does bring joy to all ages which is always appreciated...to go outside.Thank you!

A decent park for a growing community that will soon be small for the neighbors with the many buildings coming up in the area. A nice kiddie play ground for the kids, benches for the people to sit. Sadly, it's not a fenced area to have the dogs to go offleash and run but an area to walk the dog. A lot of activity in the area as such it's so close to ward village, everything is walking distance!

One of the best park for the dogs, I must say. Peaceful and not crowded. You'll also notice that aside from dogs, toddlers used to hangout in here as it is mainly for kid's playground. Pretty sure kids got free time to play as much as their parents want. There are also benches available in here. Licking an ice cream or feasting a donuts will be a fun thing to do while idling and watch the kids play around and dogs who trained to do tricks. It is a field of grass and good for picnic too.Located at the corner of Queen & Waimanu streets, this park is just across South Shore Market. Several stores are here where you can grab some snacks and bring them at the park. No free parking but metered parking spaces available in Queen Street. Nearby is a biki bike station which make it convenient to go in and out to this park.Mahalo & HAPPY JUANDERING fellow yelpers!www.juanderbandit.world

I noticed this quaint park as I was enjoying some ice cream outside of the South Shore Market which is just across the street. Located at the corner of Queen & Waimanu Streets, the tiny sliver of greenery is towered-over by the gleaming Ko'olani Condos on one side. It looked fairly new as the trees weren't very tall or bushy, so shade is at a premium. The grass was well-maintained and fairly weed-free. There are no comfort facilities, just a few benches and a jungle gym for the kiddos. A Biki bike station is located here too. OVERALL:Probably used mostly by area residents as no dedicated parking was available.

Reviewing this park based on the fact I have a toddler and I have a whole list of fave playgrounds we keep so we always have a hangout spot! So, having a toddler means I'm awake before 0545 most days with a get out the door and do something time by 0700 or else we have ants in the pants.... Not a whole lot to do that early so we hit up Whole Foods or a nearby spot for brekkie and coffee then head over the the park so my kiddo can hang with other toddlers and enjoy the early morning before it heats up. One of our fave pros not because the playground itself is anything special but because, without fail (except some rainy days), there are always kids about and a bathroom right across the street (potty training is a challenge yall.) People talk tough parking but the garage across the street is just fine as is the Whole Foods one a block over; it's a nice quick walk and it helps gets the wiggles out to boot!

Looking for a safe place to bring your kids to play and socialize? Come to Kolowalu Park. The park has a small jungle gym with a rubberized bottom for the kids to play, and 14 benches for the parents to sit on. There are also trash cans and a water fountain. There is plenty of green grass space for the kids to run around, play catch, etc. Even dogs are allowed (on-leash). There are a few metered parking spaces right on Queen Street, or I suppose you could park in the parking lot next to TJ Maxx (although technically that lot is for Ward customers only). You'd think that the park is used mostly by people who live in the surrounding condos, but there are actually a lot of people who come from all over the island, because it's such a safe playground for the kids.
