Beach park north of the town Hau'ula on Oahu's North ShoreBeautiful beach park that is not too busy. Watch for surf and current... it was a little rough. it is also a campground but sign says that a printed permit is required to be able to use the park and all fees are non-refundable.We made a stop here to enjoy the scenery. The parking lot is just a short walk to the shore... can't see the beach immediately, at least from where we parked by the restrooms, but once we reached the sandy part and got a glimpse of the ocean it was "oooohs" and "aaaahhs." The nice stretch of soft sand and its ocean background is great for picture-taking especially when the surf is up... the best part was that there weren't that many people on this beach when we came. We visited on a Thursday afternoon and we almost had the whole beach to ourselves. Not sure how the crowd is here during the weekend.Kokololio, meaning "gusty" in Hawaiian.Review #2633

Walking on the beach while waiting for my grandsons last day -school. Enjoyed the low tide, i never saw so many baby opihi like i saw here. The small ponds had lots of baby manini too It's been awhile since i walked barefoot on the beach/sand. City life got me and covid had me cooped up too long.

In just a little over a year, the beach has eroded to the point in which the trees which would shade the sandy spots to relax have now fallen into the ocean. It was quite depressing.

One of the best beach parks that you can also camp overnight on the island of Oahu! The minimum of days you can purchase the permit for at this camp site is 5 days. The permit for all 5 days costs $52.00 We went camping during the month of November and it was too windy for us. We only stayed 1 night, but we had a blast. The park has 2 parts - the camp site on the left and the picnic area on the right. The park has plenty of showers and restrooms. The beach is beautiful and the location is really convenient - close to the town of Laie, grocery shopping, restaurants and a movie theater. Just be aware that Laie is completely closed on Sundays. The only think open is the Mcdonalds there. This park has plenty of trees everywhere, so we will definitely go back in the summer. The breeze and the trees provide plenty of shade and cool air during the hot summer months.

Just another one of the many beautiful beaches on the Island of Oahu unspoiled and unobstructed by buildings and hotels. The pine trees not only add to its natural aesthetics but also provide shade and shelter from the sometimes harsh elements. The waves at times provide some rideable shore break waves but be careful on days when the waves are larger than normal because it creates a strong and dangerous under current. A lot of locals refer to this beach as "Pounders" because of the sometimes powerful waves that pound the shore. This may not be the best beach for kids and non-swimmers to be in the ocean but certainly a nice place to picnic and have fun.I also enjoy shore fishing here and found whipping is very productive in bagging some small game like Papio and Moi.

We came out here the other day just to stop by after surfing north shore, and OMG amazing views. I seriously wish I lived on this side of the island, maybe one day. Just a beautiful place to come and relax and pray. I sat and just felt so blessed to be here. I mainly stay westside, but reconsidering where I play now. Eastside it is! I will be coming out here at least once a month or more just to explore. Hau'ula you got it going on girl! Great for kids, great for dates, overall great for you brah

4.5.13.I know I've been MIA--but for good reason--no internet access this weekend! So time to play catch up!Took a trip down to this side of the island this weekend and had an amazing time! The weather was a little fickle...but it was still gorgeous when it was sunny and it was a nice place to get some R&R.A couple of years ago we camped out at this park. Just some notes: don't forget to get a permit from C&C and just be careful, there are a few "permanent" homeless people around. Luckily this time around a friend was renting a beach house in the area so it was a slightly diff experience.I wish I could get away like this every weekend!Yelp 365 Challenge: #094/365

This is my home beach and I love the trees and the views from here. While this beach might not be the best in terms of sand, surf, or ocean activities, it has amazing views. The only reason I am not giving this beach 5 stars is because the areas South from here can be a little dodgy at night. I often come to this beach for the most amazing sunrises and to see the Ko'olauloa mountain range looking South when the sky is clear. This is a picture perfect place in the morning and early afternoon. On low tide there are decent waves out here but you need to know what you are doing to properly surf Hau'ula Bowls.

Great local beach across from 7-11. I watched a Hawaiian man and his small child scale the lava rock wall catching Tako (octopus) in a 5 gal paint bucket. Welcome to Paradise.

The locals call this place pounders beach. It's because the waves break onshore and pound you into the surf. If you're really good you can position yourself in the one corner and ride waves after they ricochets off the wall and then collide with the normal flowing waves. It's what all the locals do. No chance of getting injured there. The beach is always filled with a lot of good bodyboarders, and an occasional surfer. Doesn't seem like the best beach but when you get out and enjoy it you will see it's pretty cool. Because of the waves I have to get the beach five stars. I've had a good time here in the past surfing and riding the ricochet waves like a local. Not dangerous at all. No chance of being injured there.
