The tour to give you the backstory was very cool. Just a nice little walk through part of the farm with plenty of information about how an amazing spirit is cultivated with little to no impact on the local soil and wildlife.

Always wanted to check this place out when the bottles were appearing in local stores lol. We got the Ready-to-drink flights because we weren't really rum people, especially me lol. The products they were selling were pretty cool. You can engrave your name on a KōHana rum bottle if you want. They also had painted rum bottles as decorations which was cute! Their turtle mascot is even cuter! He sits outside, basking in the sun in the corner of the yard. Next door They were experimenting on growing their own lettuce because the lettuce they ship to Hawaii don't last or it's already bad the next day. There is a little restaurant with lots of seats if you feel hungry or just want to visit there. I saw people just come for the restaurant and just go to buy the rum which you can totally do. They have a little sugar cane garden also outside next to where they store the rum barrels to show the many different sugar canes Hawaii has and what they use. When you enter the room with the rum barrels on the tour, you can immediately smell the rum which was awesome! They had a few Koa wood barrels that were special because Koa wood is rare. You get to do the tasting of your choice of "Rum Tastings" at the end of the tour. The water cup we drank out of was so cool because it was made for drinking on a ship! XD My favorite was the pineapple. Most of the drinks we had were clear, except the Blue Hawaiian lol. Because the Blue Hawaiian wasn't mixed with the usual components it was ok XD You also get to try their chocolate they collab-ed with Manoa Chocolate and their hot sauce they sell there. I couldn't really taste the rum barrel the chocolate was in, but it was good chocolate. The hot sauce was SUPER SUPER HOT! Be careful! And please eat something before the tour lol. (I am a light weight XD) Overall our tour guide was SUPER hilarious and the tour was lovely! I can see why it would be good for tourists as well. The tour was pretty quick (small area) so you'll have time to do other things :)

WHY WE WENT HERE:- adults only day - can't do that without libationsTHE LOOK (FROM THE OUTSIDE):- located on Kunia Rd; south of the Schofield Barracks and Wheeler Army AirfieldTHE LOOK (FROM THE INSIDE):- made up of several buildings serving different purposes; 1 building where the barrels are, 1 building for the restrooms/gift shop/tasting, another building for the distilling process, another building with an outdoor seating for the restaurant (separate business that operates onsite)WHAT WE ORDERED:- we perused the gift shop and bought some bottles of the cocktails to have with our lunch that we ordered onsite before our tour startedTHE TASTE:- the cocktails and the lunch were great! - cocktails were sweet and strong; food was flavorful, salty, filling- we ended up changing out our tasting after the tour after we realized the cocktail bottles we had during lunch were the same things we would be tasting in the original tasting menu we initially orderedCUSTOMER SERVICE:- Bernadette is stellar! very knowledgeable, warm, welcoming, and super fun!

We drove here at night and don't let the random empty road scary movie feel fool you, just keep driving. Eventually you'll find a lone building to your right just keep driving past the other businesses all the way to the back. You'll be greeted with some hanging lights and a pizza airstream looking thing. They have great spirits and I was not expecting beer too. So this was great for those not wanting to drink the hard stuff or something to switch to, to slow things down.I wish we got to try the pizza but was full from dinner. We bought a few bottles to bring back as omiyage and keep a couple at the in laws house the next time we visit.

What an awesome rum distillery in Hawaii. Fun staff and tasting are always avaliable. What a great selection of rums. Very causal but sophisticated place. You can join the rum club and take advantage of their program and benefits. I enjoyed the rums samples and the story behind each one. The staff were great about telling the story of each rum and creating an atmosphere that enticed you to want sample and buy rum. I can't remember the name of the one I tried, but I would say, it could stand up to a bourbon. I will have to visit this place again.

It's pretty cool to see distilleries work. It's north on Kunia road. Just keep driving north with big sign on it the left. You won't miss it. Tons of parking. They offer tours and tastings. Call ahead to make an appointment. Prices vary but pretty reasonable. The distillery had a pretty nice gift shop, tasting areas and local products to purchase. Everyone I talked to was super nice and friendly. Even though it can get busy, they really make everyone feel comfortable with the whole experience. Tasting was spot on as well.

(Drank 05/20/23 SA @ 1:00pm): The local sugar canes were worked over to create these wonderful distilled libations!A friend and I recently enjoyed a gin and whiskey tasting at Ko'olau Distillery, so we thought let's continue and spend an afternoon tasting rum this time at KōHana Distillers. Rum used to be my favorite liquor when I was younger, so I was excited to try this place. Loosely translated to "work the sugar cane", I've never heard or seen this brand on the mainland let alone anywhere else, but I first came across it while I vacationed with a friend on Maui a couple of years ago. Were my taste buds ready for this much sweeter sugary distilled liquor!?PURCHASE4pc Aged Rum Tasting Flight - 1floz ea. In fact, because it was just the two of us, it was more of an intimate affair with a friendly young man who administered the liquids at the counter. Unless they offered something different, I couldn't see a future return by myself. The tasting sizes were nice, the prices were comparable, and the service was chill and laid back. I couldn't say whether or not this was a pet-friendly place. FYI... there was a separate killer BBQ place on the property! I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $102.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS

We did the RTD tour yesterday. Our tour guide was Garret and he was the funniest, most entertaining guide we could ask for. The tour was very informative and quick which we enjoyed. They offer flights of the classic rums, RTD (Ready-To-Drink) cocktails and their aged rums (Upgrade). We opted for a classic flight and RTD drink and shared. We enjoyed our tour so much and were able to buy lots of souvenirs for our friends and family back home. Side note: this is the rum offered on the Hawaiian Airlines flights. It's so worth the try!

First rum tasting and hopefully not my last! My friend group decided to go for the full tour + tasting and were not disappointed. The main area for the tasting is very casual with a bunch of fun souvenirs to buy, a bar for serving their rum & drinks, and an area to show how they make sugarcane juice.Garret was a real one and made the tour / rum tasting a memorable one. Very knowledgeable about the whole process and friendly with all of our questions (including the more silly ones). The classic rum flight was enjoyable with the chocolate infused one being my favorite (sort of a dessert rum) which was complemented well by some honey. They also had a hot sauce to taste which was interesting and tasty.Would come back and maybe opt for the nicer rums this time!

I came here with my sister and aunt on a Sunday afternoon and was greeted by Garrett who set the tone for our experience at Kō Hana. We opted for the tasting but not the tour. While we waited for our tasting to start, we went outside to say hi to Tony the tortoise and then looked around the store that offered their rum, honey, chocolate, apparel and more. The real highlight of our visit was Kaimana who led our tasting. For being a new employee, Kaimana was super fun, engaging, and knowledgeable. It seemed like other guests in the tasting room were having a good time with the other staff, as well. Between the three of us, we had the classic, the aged and the cocktail tastings. We ended up with a bottle of their Kokoleka (chocolate rum, yum). We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would absolutely come back again.
