Let's start this review by noting that food in Honolulu is the most expensive I've ever seen including NYC, Paris, LA etc... etc....We stumbled on King of Thai Boat Noodles walking around when we were looking for somewhere reasonable to eat (not $60/Entree). Myself, wife and 12 year old twins were so happy we did! The food seemed a little more Malaysian than Thai to me (a huge positive it's tough to find Malaysian food) and reminded me of some of my favorite places in Flushing Queens NY growing up (currently I live in Southern California). It was one of the better meals I've had in a very long time. We started with Roti that absolutely great. It had that proper chewy texture Roti should have. I would have preferred a curry dipping sauce vs. the peanut sauce but the peanut sauce was good. We also got the Tom Kha which was phenomenal, the perfect mix of sweet/sour/spicy. For dinner we had the Pad See Ew noodles. This is where the service shined. My kids are annoying and hate vegetables so they made them with just noodles, meat and sauce. They were OUTSTANDING. Some of the better flat rice noodle's I've had, Pad See Ew, Chow Fun or otherwise. My wife got the Panang Curry and I had the Duck Curry. Both we outstanding with rich flavors and the proper amount of spice. Our whole meal was under $100, a miracle in downtown Honolulu. The ambiance isn't important to us at all, so that's not part of the review. The food, service and price were all outstanding. I can't recommend this place enough if you are looking for some great Thai/Malaysian food, reasonable priced where you can actually get a table.PS: We went back a second time and it was just as good!

Among the many upscale shops and restaurants in the touristy area of Waikiki, it was refreshing to find this modest independent eatery just a few minutes from our hotel. We went for a midday meal around 2:30P and were the only customers dining in at the time. As one may guess from their name, this spot places a stronger focus on soups compared to other Thai restaurants. However, they do offer a few types of stir-fried noodles, curries, appetizers and specialty dishes. + THAI BOAT NOODLE SOUP w/ BEEF ($19): It was my first time having such a fragrant soup and the flavor was so unique! The broth was bold with a strong taste of five-spice which gave it warmth, in addition to having a little tang and medium heat. The bowl contained beef in three forms: stewed, slices and meatballs. Morning glory and beansprouts added some crunch, while our choice of thin noodles paired perfectly with it all. + PAD KEE MAO w/ CHICKEN ($17): Their rendition had a prominent wok flavor and was quite heavy on the crushed garlic. The dish contained a reasonable amount of chicken and I enjoyed the crunch of the bell peppers and green beans. The noodles were perfectly cooked as well. This was my favorite of the three items that we ordered. + PAD GRA PROW w/ PORK ($17): Of all the house specials, this one appealed to us the most. Ground pork was combined with a soy-based sauce, Thai basil and bell peppers, served over rice. While a savory and hearty dish, I didn't love the sauce and I wish the basil was more apparent. I appreciated the attentive service as the waitstaff came by multiple times to clear our plates, fill our waters and check on us. Our food was also prepared quickly and served steaming hot so I actually had to wait a couple moments before digging in! This is a good option for anyone seeking authentic Thai cuisine in the bustling Waikiki shopping district.

The service here is absolutely incredible--attentive, friendly, and welcoming from start to finish. And the food? Next level! The papaya salad and sticky rice were total standouts--fresh, flavorful, and just the right amount of spice. I could eat that sticky rice every day.The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because it's a bit on the pricey side for what you get, and unfortunately, the Mai Tai was completely tasteless (honestly, skip it). But if you're here for authentic Thai flavors and great service, you'll leave happy. Highly recommend!

SUPER AUTHENTIC. Open until 1:00am every day for those vacation drunchies!! Everything we ordered was cooked fresh and came out piping hot!! We ordered papaya salad (spicy), deep fried dumplings, tom yum soup with chicken (spicy), pad thai with beef (medium), and pineapple fried rice. DO NOT GET THE SPICY! Their spice levels are comparable to the spiciness you get in actual Thailand. Just get medium if you like things spicy, mild for a little spice and no spice if you can't handle spicy at all. The papaya salad was SO GOOD but made all of our tongues feel like it was on fire!! The deep fried dumplings were perfectly crispy and delicious. The tom yum soup was good, I just wish it was more sour, however I definitely recommend getting this soup in mild or MAYBE medium. Do not make the same mistake as us and get spicy because it made our noses water. The pad thai was VERY GOOD. Extremely comparable to the pad thai I had when I was in Thailand, definitely recommend. Finally, the pineapple fried rice was the most "plain" item we ordered BUT it was still flavorful and delicious. If I come back I would definitely re-order the papaya salad, pad thai and pineapple fried rice. Service was excellent. Spice level is real and authentic!

Wow, the Thai boat really lived to the name of the place and reviews. It was delicious, the only thing would be the portion size but you know what, it didn't really bug me because as Americans, we're always consuming more than we should. Definitely a must when you're in Waikiki. The pork stirfry was also delicious. Service was quick and prompt. Very clean inside including the restrooms. They have a full service bar (which is a plus). Also, their hours of operation is great as well. If you need a late night meal, this place will be available. Located in a very neutral location as well and very easy to get to if you're up for a walk versus driving.

So good, ate here twice.Ordered Thai Boat Noodles and Beef Pad See Ew the first time, then took the entire family to order an entire feast for the second time. My boat noodle snob husband & my MIL are picky about their noodle soups & for this to pass their palate with flying colors says so much. Really authentic flavors, decent sized servings, & attentive staff. Thai boat noodles 10/10. Beef pad see ew 10/10. Khao Soi 10/10. Papaya salad 7/10.Pad krapao mookrob 8/10.Fried calamari 7/10.Roasted duck rice plate 8/10.Chicken pad thai 10/10.Food took a little while to make, but they made sure the appetizers came early for us to munch on. Beat the dinner rush twice. At around 6:30PM... there's a long wait. Not an empty seat the entire time we were eating here. Clean establishment. Really friendly staff. Highly recommend this place if you're in Waikiki.

I was really craving for Thai food at 10pm and haven't ate dinner. I stumbled across the place through yelp. I usually don't like restaurants in Waikiki because I feel like they're overpriced & parking is extremely hard coming from a local. But let me tell you... it did not disappoint. My husband & I took an Uber so we didn't have complications with parking. It's right when you get into Waikiki so it's not crazy hard finding this hidden gem. They offer Thai food till 1am! Which is great for late night foodies like myself who want a pad Thai or papaya salad! They also serve alcohol +1 star. The restaurant itself was kept neat and clean and had lots of seating. The employees and the service was good also even though there was a bit of a language barrier it was still good service. Besides a male server who pointed out we ordered too much food for 2 people... I kinda thought that was rude. But oh wells, I like ordering everything on the menu so I can try. They had more noodle soup dishes hence "Thai boat noodles". But I didn't get any of that this visit. The menu was smaller than other Thai restaurants but they had a lot of the popular thai items. Here's what I ordered: Papaya Salad Medium Lao Style (4/5): Spicy, smelly with lots of umami and a big hint of spice! It was soo good and was drenched in sauce. I just wish they served it with crunchy raw cabbage for my personal preference. Soft shell crab salad (5/5): Deep fried soft shell crab topped with mango! My husband really loved this!Tom Kha (5/5): This soup was the perfect balance of creamy and sour. I loved how they served it in those pots that keep the soup hot! Roast Duck over rice (5/5): I'm not a fan of roast duck but my husband is. I tried a piece of it with the sauce and it was AMAZING! I love how the sauce paired well with the duck and the duck was juicy and tender. Pad Thai (5/5): Pad Thai was how all pad Thai usually tastes like but more on the sweet sideI really want to try their noodle soup dishes next time! I'll update my review once I try.

Found this place while wondering the streets of Waikiki. We ordered the wings, fried wontons, Pad khee mao, and pad see ew. Wings and pad see ew were delicious, wontons and pad khee mao were about average. Servers were super attentive. Then the bill came and it was $100. This is the most expensive Thai food I think I have ever had.

One of the only actual restaurants open till this late in town. Typically by the time it even hits 10-11pm, most restaurants are closed. All that is left are fast food and bars (or AYCE KBBQ).I was starving, and something from King of Thai Boat Noodles just felt quite appealing to me compared to the rest. We got to the restaurant at around 11:30pm and there were still a few tables already occupied. You just need to walk in, say the number of people, and grab a table yourself. We did and started to browse the menu. The decorations inside were pretty but it did feel a bit weird that a table was doing karaoke... singing for like 30+mins with the tv and mic.The food:- Roasted duck over rice: We have ordered this at their location in Alas and it is just as good. Same complaint as before, that I feel there should be a bit more duck & rice. Portion size just felt a bit small.- Khao Soi: I decided to try something new that isn't their drunken noodles (their drunken noodles are very good), and I got the Khao Soi with Shrimp. It was very flavorful and I enjoyed eating it a lot with the bean sprouts mixed in. The wonton chips were a nice textual contrast as well. The noodles were perfectly al dente and delicious. Only complaint is the small amounts of shrimp. A couple more would feel less lackluster.Would definitely come back again if I craved a late night meal, especially as they do offer a good variety of dishes.
