Cute mom and pop store, Korean owned. Parking is lousy 2 parallel stalls on sidewalk off busy Kinau Street. Really popular with Micronesans, they sell stuff they like. Accepts EBT/Snap. Good spam musubi.

The store has different owner now. Very much cleaner and nicer. It is organized better. They added much more variety of items for purchase. Let's support local business!!!

I stop by here very rarely, and only when I'm walking by and very thirsty, because that is the only excuse to shop at this hole in the wall liquor store. It is situated between a five minute walk from both Queen's Medical Center POB I and the Honolulu Museum of Art. I imagine local residents, or people dining at Shigalicious/Aloha Cones next door, might stop by since it's the only convenience store in this area other than the 76 gas station on Beretania. The store doesn't look very clean and the inside is dimly lit. I really dislike stores that don't list prices of items. It makes me think that owners can overcharge depending on how easily gullible a customer looks like. A 1-liter bottle of Dasani water costs $2.25 as of this writing. You'll find better prices at the 24-hour Longs Drug on S. King Street, which is a five minute drive from this place. I would not recommend shopping here unless you are too hungry or thirsty to travel anywhere else.

They are very rude to customers and they act as if they are doing you a favor for shopping there. Not everything has the prices and when you ask the prices they get annoyed. I felt rushed as I shopped. They were looking at me the whole time and kept asking me what I wanted. She even lied to me that they were about to get me to hurry up. If they want me to hurry up they should organize the store to make it more efficient. Prices should be on all products and the glass refrigerator doors should be cleaned better so you see through more clearly.I felt that by shopping there they just assume I was going to steal something. They may have a tough clientele, but that's no excuse to treat customers like criminals.

Kinau Superette is one of those hole-in-the-wall gangsta liquor stores that sells a little bit of this and a little bit of that. This superette is located on Kinau near Shigalicious. I walked here once or twice from Queen's with my coworker--she needed cigarettes. It's less than a two block walk from Queen's, so it's relatively close. This store sells cigarettes, ice cream, candy, random supplies, and Kim Chee. Yes, Kim Chee. I'm assuming this place is Korean-owned. The nice Korean cashier lady pointed out her stash of sour Kim Chee, which was behind the freshly made stock for sale--I guess she could tell I had some Korean blood in me too! The price must have been pretty reasonable because I don't remember how much I paid. This Kim Chee was nice and sour--just how I like it! Surprisingly, it had a nice spice to it. My coworkers liked it too! This is some place I don't mind walking to the next time I have a Kim Chee craving at work (and I didn't pack some in my lunch).A-OKYelp 365 - #008/365
