Decided to come here while we wait for our girl finish prom. We walked in at 730 (they close at 830) it was SUPER BUSY, but we were seated within 5 mins on the very last open table in the whole restaurant. They took our order immediately and our food came out so quick and tasted so fresh. We brought my sister and BIL as they never tried this place out and we like their food. Really there wasnt anything wrong with any of our food we ordered and everyone in our group enjoyed it. Here is what we ordered:Kau yuk: this was a little tough, but still so good Bao bunscake noodle gau gee char siu fuyoungorange chicken fried rice chicken egg plant (THIS WAS DELICIOUS) Customer Service was AMAZING. These workers here have a system and it works for them and for us as customers. If you're in Kaneohe and wanting Chinese, I highly recommend coming here :))

An old school Chinese restaurant serving great Chinese comfort food! That just about sums up this restaurant in Kaneohe. I think it's time for an update, as it's been awhile since I last dined at Kin Wah Chop Suey..So my dad had some friends visiting from out of town, so one evening I decided to take them out to the Windward side for some old school Chinese comfort food. The menu here is pretty extensive, but to make it easy on ourselves, we decided to pick a fixed dinner menu for 4 people, then I just added two extra dishes with our fixed meal. For just under $120 bucks, we got the following -Scallop SoupKin Wah Chow MeinRoast DuckSweet & Sour PorkBeef BroccoliChicken w/Cashew Nut & VegetablesSteamed Fish FiletHoney Walnut ShrimpSteamed RiceThe restaurant décor has seen better days, but I must say that the food was tasty, and service was quick and on point. Parking can be rough during the peak hours, as the parking lot is shared by other eatery businesses. If you're ever in the Windward side, and craving Chinese food, give Kin Wah Chop Suey a try!

I called a take out order on a Sunday at lunchtime they said it would be about 15 to 20 minutes. We got there in 10 minutes and the food was just coming out. We took everything home back to Honolulu to eat. My favorite dish is their Chinese chicken salad because it is the red peanut dressing that makes it so unique to other Chinese chicken salads on the island. I'm not a fan of the chicken because it comes chopped up with skin on, but I'm able to pick out most of the skin pieces. The minute chicken cake noodles are always delicious with the fried chow mein noodles. We had a lot of other stuff, but those are the two main dishes that I like to eat. I will sometimes dry the butter melon with pork, but for the most part that is reserved for my husband and my father. If you plan to stay and eat, make sure you bring a smaller size vehicle because the parking lot is very small and limited unless you want to park out on the street.

This is my good to place for Chinese when I'm at Kaneohe. The parking is tight when it's busy. My favorites is Chinese chicken salad, eggplants with pork, bird nest soup and the black beans with clams. Service is great. It's a mom and pop restaurant. Love the food there and thinking of driving down to pick up some awesome Chinese. The place is clean and they have restrooms. If you're at Kaneohe go check them out. Pick up some pecking duck and gau gee to go also.

Christmas Day Lunch at Kin Wah. I preordered to avoid long waits for our food. The nice lady on the phone who I placed the order with said it was good I was preordering since there would be many take out orders that day. She even helped me with the quantities so we would have the right amount of food and not need to place another order while we were eating then wait a long time. I thought that was really helpful, because we increased a few items by a half order and it made a difference. We had just the right amount of food with a little left over - and everyone was stuffed, as they should be. Overall, for seven people (1 small eater, 2 medium eaters, and 4 large but not huge eaters) we ordered the equivalent of 9 orders plus rice. What was left was about one big plate lunch. We arrived promptly at 11 and the staff were ready to get our food going. They brought the food out almost in the sequence I ordered it. Steamed rice first, which was what I wanted, then our boneless minute chicken cake noodle and egg fuyong. Next beef broccoli, and walnut shrimp. Followed by soft gau gee mein in gravy and steamed fillet of fish with ginger and green onion. We were dining on all the above, but we had to wait for our last dish of stuffed duck. I actually had to ask about it and we were told they were still working on it. An older server came and said our server was busy taking other phone orders and it's a busy day so the kitchen is busy with take out orders. So I do understand. It's a busy take out order day, and stuffed duck does take longer but I was disappointed since I did everything I could to get our orders on the table promptly. I would have been happier without the excuses. Our reservation was early, so it made me feel that the people dining were less important than the people calling in that day to order. Will let it slide this time because it was Christmas Day and understandably extra busy. Tip - noodle dishes don't have a good noodle to topping ratio. Both our cake noodle and gau gee mein ran out of noodles. In fact, when the bowl of soft gau gee mein got to me, there were no noodles, just a couple of gau gee and some veggies. You'll see it in the photos. Also - ask for your soft gau gee mein in a platter or it will be in a bowl (like if you were ordering it in soup). It was very difficult to get the noodles out from the bottom and they were completely clumped together. (Had a couple of the men serving themselves first so they didn't think to mix the veggies with the noodles so it would be easier to serve...) Both noodles dishes were delicious. Walnut again was good. Walnuts were crunchy and delicious. Shrimp was pretty good. We ordered one and a half orders but it looked like only one large order. Only five of us ate the shrimp and there was only one left at the end. Beef broccoli was good. Beef was soft and the ratio of beef to broccoli was ok. Broccoli was still nice and crisp, not overcooked. Steamed fish fillet had a good flavor. This is another dish that's best to order one and a half to be sure you have enough. I was a little disappointed that the ginger was not julienned a little thinner because it was a little tough and very "potent" due to the size. Egg fuyong was very tasty. The very late stuffed duck came out looking a little different than we expected. The duck meat and skin were not layered over the barley and other filling ingredients, but on the side. It looked like someone had tilted the bowl by accident and the food had shifted. It still tasted very good. I'd eaten here often in past years but only once before this year. Food still tastes good. Not enough noodles is standard so I recommend you order an extra side of just the noodles. Ask for soft gau gee mein with gravy on a platter (and extra noodles), not a bowl. Order extra walnut shrimp so you have enough. Would eat here again, just have to take notes so I remember the best way and quantities to order. Sorry about the photos - hard to get a pic of the dishes when they get placed in different places on the table and people start digging in immediately because they're hungry so some are only what was on my plate, but after all, food and fellowship are more important.

If you're in Kaneohe this is where you want to go for Chinese food. We do takeout her usually but today we're doing lunch for two. This restaurant has been her for many decades and was the place to go to eat Chinese food for my in-laws and their family. Now that the children are all adults with their own family, they still go here on weekends when no one wants to cook for dinner. The food is ready when we order take out and it tastes even better when dining in. Their service is fast and friendly and like any typical Chinese restaurant, their place is clean, their tables can seat a couple to a large group. Best to call ahead to make sure they can hold table space for you if you have a large group. Now that Kaneohe is called home, kin wah is a good place to get my Chinese food fix on.

I've been coming here since I was a kid and I'm never disappointed. Food is always hot, even when we get take out. My favorite is their eggplant with pork, and their squid with black bean sauce on cake noodle. Take out is always pretty quick if you call ahead, and always so happy that the take out food is very hot when I receive it. The staff are all the same & very kind. Parking can be tricky during peak hours but most times can kind parking in the shopping center lot.
