Cool decor...This is the place for all things asian decor and everything to celebrate the Lunar New Year which is the place that I had to visit and see what they have and yes this is the location in Maunakea Marketplace where there's racks of various merchandise outside mainly the popular items as obvious many were for items that would be perfect for the occasion.I've come here many moons ago to find various beads and accessories as the items they carry are unique and fun as well though it is a fashion shop as well with various clothing that's all mixed in for a complete ensemble I guess lol.The staff here is very nice and don't follow you though you need to be mindful and polite as you browse as I came to search for a specific item which sadly they didn't have but was nice to give them a visit and see all the beautiful items. Parking I was lucky to find street parking on a free Sunday moment though municipal is right next door is usually what I use if I'm browsing much longer.Give this place a visit for all things Feng shui unique decor or just that bead that's hard to find anywhere else for a great price with so much items here makes it a fun place to shop.Thank you!

Lunar New Year is January 25, 2020. It's time to get ready for the Year of The Golden Rat!I've been patronizing Kimi's Fashion II for many years. For example: I've purchased Asian decorated paper fans for party favors, a blue rhino trinket to protect against burglaries, and Chinese styled clothing (blouses and jackets) for special occasions. The store is located in Maunakea Marketplace in Honolulu's Chinatown. I like to go on Sundays when metered street parking is free. Otherwise, there are Municipal Parking garages nearby which charge reasonable fees.If you enter Maunakea Marketplace from Maunakea Street, you will immediately see merchandise from this shop overflowing outside the walls of the store and into the surrounding area. Shelves of coin purses, toys, artificial flowers, sunglasses, clothing, and lucky charms are everywhere! This shop has everything! Inside, there are wooden figurines, jade carvings, beads, earrings, scarves, etc!I like the service here. For example, I was buying a Year of the Rat charm for two of my friends' birthdays when the female employee offered me a deal. She said that if I buy 3, I can get the charms at $10! Ok! The cashier was placing each charm is a cellophane package - very nice!I also got lucky charms for my mom because she makes goodie bags for her high school classmates. (Every year, they have a Lunar New Year party and exchange small gifts.) The $8 bag of charms contained 12 pieces. What a deal!Yes, Kimi's Fashion II may seem cluttered... that's the uniqueness of it! It reminds me of my PoPo's (Chinese grandmother) room - filled with beautiful ethnic treasures - waiting to be discovered!

Fashion store on the right side once you enter Maunakea Marketplace. Lots of cheap souvenir items like fake Kukui nut leis but mostly little trinket fun gifts and some household goods all for purchase. The lady was waiting near the door and greeted us. I was never followed and didn't feel uncomfortable so I casually took my time. I didn't necessarily come for anything in particular but I plan on coming back to get some decor to fill my house. Parking: Either on Maunakea street or in the municipal garages. If you don't have a compact car, I'd recommend coming during the weekend when it's less crowded so you can score street parking.

I should have taken pictures but I totally forgot. I came here looking for some Chinese clothing to wear for Halloween since it seems Wal-Mart and Target stopped carrying "racial" outfits. Hey! I am Chinese and I want to wear Chinese clothing!! Things I was looking for:1) Chinese clothing - they had some traditional clothing, but they were super duper expensive. Also dusty.2) Plastic knickknack lanterns - I put them in my hair for ornaments. I don't think they were intended for this purpose but they were small enough and they cost 75 cents so it was cheap. I bought two. One for each hair bun. They were pretty! 3) Flat black "Mary Janes" - do you remember these shoes that kids used to wear in the 80's? They were those ubiquitous, black, flat Kung Fu shoes everyone wore because they were cheap. Well guess what? They are HARD to find. And only one shop had them in all of Chinatown, Kimi's! These were also hard to find, since they were on a rack outside in crumbling, dirty old plastic bags. I almost passed them up on my way out of Chinatown and my son spotted them. One pair was like $9.00. Not too bad, considering I used to pay $6.00 for them a long long time ago.I'll come back to this place if I decide to be a Chinese person again.

Kimis is located in Maunakea Marketplace and is the only store in Chinatown to carry a large selection of merchandise. You wonder how they make from the start of COVID last year. Their prices are affordable. I was looking for Chinese lion head and Year of Ox charm for my friends. There was different sizes of lion head and marionette style for hanging. Inside store, 2 Female ladies who speak Vietnamese and 1 guy who spoke English. I asked the guy if they had Chinese horoscope calendar. He said that they had 1 scroll for $3.00 and mentioned factory in China was closed. The other calendar from last year was not made. I didn't buy anything but will come back to buy fake flowers for flower arrangement.

Need bamboo plants? This is the best place to get it. They have the biggest selection at the best prices - guaranteed. And all the workers are so nice over there. There's also other cool stuff like lotus lamps, diamond rocks and other Chinese type knick knacks.

Kimi is the owner of the store and she's located in Maunakea Marketplace. She does a lot of wholesale of beads and chinese knick knacks so her prices are very reasonable. I had the opportunity of meeting her when I was in search of some items during Chinese New Year. She happenned to help me and I found out she was the owner! I also bought a Chinese silk top for a great price ($25). She also has mid length and long Chinese dresses that are beautiful. If you're looking for party essentials or just some decorations, make sure to stop in this hidden gem!Her other family member runs a little bamboo shop right across from her. She does amazing work and the pictures show it. They had a really cool turtle vase with a 3 tier bamboo and a curly one in the middle which went for about $32. Very reasonable considering I searched at Marukai and something half its size went for $24. She even has a bin on the ground with different styles and you can build your own design! I used these loose pieces including the big turtle vase for a party centerpiece. We had a Kanreki dinner and bamboo and turtles happen to be some of the key symbols in Japanese culture. She takes Visa and Mastercard. Parking is best in the municipal parking, Maunakea exit.

The clerk stalked me like she thought I was going to steal $2.00 made in China knickknacks...as if! Very weird vibe. I did spend 2 bucks on a cute fish magnet for my daughter. I will not return because of the stalking and the merchandise is very dusty and old.
