Had a delicious bowl of the chicken udon noodle pho today with an iced coffee. The soup was so tasty and had heaps of chicken and garlic. So good as I am fighting off a cold bug. Nice to have an option for udon noodles. The cook was smart and snipped them into short pieces so that they easily fit on the spoon. The bathroom was clean! Yes! In Chinatown! I think Yelp should have a bonus button for this. The Staff were very friendly and excellent service was had. I could tell this place was a neighborhood favorite for early soup as the customers were a plenty.Highly recommend. Enjoy!

We used to frequent Super Pho, which morphed into Pho House and now into Pho Kim An. We liked the food here but found similar dishes at a location closer to our office so we stopped coming here. Today (Jan9), we found ourselves looking for a place to have lunch and decided to try Pho Kim An.One of us had the Hue Spicy Beef w/noodles while the other tablemate and I tried the vermicelli with pork and spring rolls ($17). We've had this dish at just about every pho place in downtown. This one was slightly more expensive than the other places (usually $15) but I have to say this one is one of the best. The toppings are very generous and the sauce is the best of the lot. The spring roll is very good and the pork was charred just how I like it. Add the julienned vegetables and you have a tasty and relatively healthy dish.I would return so I give them a rating of "Recommended".

Lunch in Chinatown, Honolulu, Hawaii...Lunch Buddy alerted me to this Hot New Business: Kim's An Vietnamese Cuisine. It was supposed to open on 8-31-23, but it didn't because the Health Inspector hadn't arrived yet. I asked the woman inside the shop (the door was open) when this restaurant would be ready. She said, "Maybe Saturday (9-2-23)".I parked for free on Vineyard Boulevard - about three long blocks away - by Foster Garden - and briskly walked past some vagrant characters who were sitting in front of Zippy's...Upon entering the cozy restaurant, I seated myself in the back, near the restroom, because the other tables weren't cleared off yet. There seemed to be just one guy taking orders, distributing utensils/water/condiments, and bussing tables. A couple of women were bringing food out to customers. I decided to be proactive and get some menus...When Dear Daniel arrived, I reported my observations to him. He flagged down the waiter who took our orders. Dear Daniel grabbed the hot sauce bottle from the other table. The waiter finally brought water glasses and utensils/napkins. I ordered the bun (dry vermicelli noodles) with grilled pork and grilled shrimp. The seven shrimp had a nice, smokey flavor. The two pieces of pork were tasty. The fresh and pickled veggies were a great compliment to the dish. I poured the sweet chili sauce over everything and ate it all up! The garlic chips and chopped peanuts made my lunch more delicious!Because this was the first day of operation, we did expect some kinks. The polite service can improve its efficiency, but the food sure came out from the kitchen promptly! I wouldn't mind returning and trying the bun with "clams"... they might be mussels... and the dish has green papaya... intriguing! Thanks for the 10% discount during the first week of Grand Opening! CONGRATULATIONS!Best wishes for success and happiness!

I was craving pho and decided to go to Pho House since it's been a minute. To my surprise when I arrived, they were closed. There was a sign on the door saying they will be closed 8/21-8/30 and will reopen on 8/31 as Kim's An Vietnamese Cuisine. I mentally noted that date in my head so I can come back to check out this new business. Of course I tell my Lunch Buddy so she can be First to Tip and First to Review. She actually drove down to create the Yelp page and take pics of the outside. This is when I found out about their 10% off grand opening special (valid their first week). We made plans to meet here for lunch on 8/31. Congrats on FTT and FTR, LB!LB called on 8/31 but no one answered so she went down around 10am. The door was open so she went in and saw someone cleaning the floors. Unfortunately, the Department of Health didn't inspect them yet so the opening was delayed. They stated possibly Saturday so we patiently waited. Saturday came and we met up at the restaurant around 11am. We ran into Russel M when we were here for lunch which was a nice surprise. The restaurant was busy! They are still working out the kinks. LB had to seat herself and get menus. It took awhile before a server came to take our order and provided water. I ordered their Bun Bo Hue (Hue Spicy Beef Noodle) and LB ordered their Bun Thit Nuong Tom Nuong (Grilled Pork & Shrimp with Noodle). The kitchen didn't take too long to get our orders out considering how busy they were. We did notice that they didn't have enough condiments on each table so many tables had to share. The Bun Bo Hue had a good flavor to it and there were generous amounts of beef shank. Two giant cubes of pig blood, several slices of fish cake, a good sized piece of pork hock and perfectly cooked noodles completed the dish. Sad to see Pho House go but looking forward to trying other menu items here.***9/4/23 UPDATE***I came back with my dad for lunch. Ordered him the Pork Chop Rice and they gave him the Chicken BBQ Rice Plate. I ordered Pho Combination with the rare steak outside but it came inside the soup. Failed on both orders from ordering to the kitchen making them. I had them remake my order so it took awhile before I actually ate. English isn't the best here but if you speak Vietnamese then I think you'll be ok. When I paid, they charged me for the Pork Chop Rice plate and I'm so glad that I took photos of what he actually received. The guy made an adjustment on bill after seeing the photo. In two days time, the pho price went from $12.99/bowl to $14.99/bowl! That's a $2 increase! Conveniently their credit card machine was down so I had to pay cash. Thankfully I actually had cash on me as I rarely ever carry cash. The process of paying took forever as he manually calculated the bill. A table next to ours just got tired of waiting and they just got up and left. They still have many kinks to work out but wishing them the best!

The menu isn't as large as Pho House. Ordered the crab meat soup it was ok, but consistency is key. Haven't tried other menu items. Will follow up. It doesn't seems as busy as it was before. That's typically a good indicator of food authenticity and quality.

I tried the Seafood Pho - which was ok - there is a lot of menu items to choose from----Service was friendly- one thing I did not like was the strong cleaning solution smell on the table as well as inside - so thanks for being clean but do wipe down water so the strong sanitized smell dies not permeate the place -

Although smaller menu than some of the competitors. The food is just as good. The hostess was very attentive. Try their dessert (Che). The Duck Salad was very good. I ask for bone removal from the duck. And they accommodated the request.

Nice family owned restaurant. Had chicken Bahn mi which was delicious! Bread was perfect and not hard like a rock which has been my usual experience with other places. Very nicely greeted and taken care of. Wish I could show a picture but I devoured the sandwich!
