Whenever I am craving Japanese comfort food, I go to Kiyuya. Great prices, portions and preparation. I often get the teishoku where you can mix and match. Parking can be a little tricky but we usually can snag a spot.

Soooooo...If you've got a lot of mouths to feed? Yes. If you're looking for the staff to remind you of Japan with their uniforms and restaurants interior designs? This is it. If you're looking for flavorful dishes that bring you back to Tokyo or Osaka, SKIP.Sushi? Hit or miss.Chicken karaage, tempura, gyoza? Delish.Sauces? Flavorless.Udon noodles? Average. Udon broth? Tasteless.This place is a bang for your buck, truly affordable considering the portion sizes. Quality is just subpar.Lots of parking available. Dining in hours are great for lunch and dinner. Staff are hospitable.

I'd forgotten about Kikuya... haven't been here in years! We really enjoyed dinner tonight! Very reasonable, good food and friendly service. Lots of parking!I had the 3 choice meal, $23.95... 2 course meal is $20.95. I had shrimp tempura, miso butterfish and bbq rib eye. All were very good...Can't figure out why I've been gone so long. Everyone left full and satisfied... even my husband said it was really good!

The food was pretty good, the ladies are nice, sushi is ok, but I have to say very good price for Japanese food which is normally expensive.I've been here several times and have recommended them to several friends.

Nice affordable local style Japanese food. Located off king by diners. Lots of parking. Staff is friend and food is good. Enjoy the butterfish, teishoku and katsu Don. Sushi not bad

Came here for lunch and they have such a good lunch special. It was very inexpensive for the items offered and delicious!My husband and I got the rice platter lunch specials and my son got the cold soba noodles. The rice platters came with miso soup, salad, shrimp tempura and your 2 items. I chose the ahi teriyaki and chicken teriyaki which I enjoyed. My husband got the ahi katsu and beef teriyaki. I thought my platter choices tasted better than his lol. Come here for lunch you'll get a bang for your buck!

Ooh I almost don't want to write this review. This place is like a hidden secret. This restaurant has some good Japanese food for very affordable prices. I just pretty much found this place on Yelp through a search. We had a little trouble finding it but it's actually in the same parking lot of a Chinese restaurant that we went to once with a friend. There's a lot of parking but it can get crowded because they have a lot of restaurants in that complex.The restaurant reminds me of an old school kind of Japanese local restaurant. We entered and the people working there were so welcoming. They sat us quickly and brought out our water quickly too. We ordered some sushi and some combination plates. I got the butterfish and salmon. When it came out I didn't expect that much fish. It was really good portions. You pay a little extra for the butterfish but well worth it. The combinations come with miso soup, salad and rice. We all left the restaurant stuffed and were all happy that we really found this restaurant. We can't wait to be in the Kalihi area to try this place again.

Great tasting Japanese food at a good price. I got the 3 choice of Sashimi, Grilled Salmon and Ahi steak with garlic butter sauce. The 3 combination comes with a bowl of rice, miso soup, toss salad and veggies. Everything tasted great. I wouldn't get the ahi steak again. It was a little dry & needed more sauce. The food came out fast, but I wish it all came out all together. I got my dishes, one by one. Service was great though. I do wish this place was bigger. The seating is very tight, So is the parking. I wouldnt recommend coming here with a huge party. Overall, Great tasting Japanese at a resonable price.

Small establishment with about 10 tables. Parking is shared with other businesses in the area.Couldn't decide on what to eat so it's great that they have a 2 choice and a 3 choice dinner.I ordered a mini kake udon with 1 piece shrimp tempura, ahi teriyaki and misoyaki butterfish. It came with a small salad, miso soup and tsukemono.I liked the tsukemono and needed up not eating the miso soup since it was too hot at first and then it got too cold when I forgot about it. lol was too busy talking. I was disappointed in the misoyaki butterfish and the ahi teriyaki. Both were overcooked and not much flavor. My friend also ordered the misoyaki butterfish. Hers looked better than mine and she said it was okay.It's good that the shrimp tempura is served on the side so it would be crispy when eaten. I don't know how it tasted since I didn't eat it and took it home instead. I liked the kake udon.Although the prices are good and I liked the udon, I'm not sure I'll be back since my usual order at Japanese restaurants is the misoyaki butterfish.

Cute little hole in the wall!! The Japanese food is tasty and service is amazing. I ordered the two choice dinner meal... comes with salad, small Pupu, miso soup, rice, and two choices (I chose sashimi and tempura)... so yummy and I asked for no rice so they substituted it for an extra salad.
