Bottom Line: Among the best surfboard shapers out there!There are a lot of great shapers out there - Arakawa, Takayama, Brewer, just to name a few. Add another name to that elite list - Keoki.This guy will listen to your wants and needs, and then help guide you to a board that will fit you perfectly. He's got mad skills in shaping, just like a lot of other shapers, but this guy has got some stuff that others don't. He has been able to closely study ancient Hawaiian surf boards, and he also has a scientific background that helps him approach shaping a board with feel you only get from experience and with an analytical eye.He's also easy to talk to; you can explain to him what you want, and he can translate that into board shaping language. Another plus is that he doesn't charge outrageous prices for his custom boards. If custom boards aren't your thing, give him a call, he usually has some used boards that he sells also for a spanking good deal!

I've tried other boards and always end up buying Keoki's boards. Every time I buy a new board from him it turns in to my favorite board for a few months and then I go back to some of the other boards I have from him and they become my favorites again. It's never ending. I have yet to be disappointed.Sometimes he takes awhile to shape customs (might because he has a bunch of pending orders) and if I was grading him on that, I'd probably knock of a star but I enjoy his shapes too much to give a f.... Plus the 5 other boards I have from him hold me over till I get my next. His shapes are very creative, functional and perform like a dream. I suck and they make me half way decent.Check him out and you'll be singing his praises too!
