Left side of the park :)
Uninvited guests

Morning sunrise at the park

Very good park for picnics, barbeques, and all sorts of celebrations and hangouts. People are also friendly, and it's quite common to see bikers and runners stop by for a quick break. Trees are fun for all ages to climb, too. : ) However, the littering and trash all over is what lowers my rating. Everywhere you walk, you see some trash. I clean up the place a little each time I go, but the sheer size of the park and quantity of the pieces make it so daunting and demotivating. Hate to see such a pretty place be brought down by human mistakes. Bathrooms also aren't hygienic in the slightest and don't provide any soap whatsoever, but that's kinda to be expected of public parks.

I do believe that everything happens for a reason and how we take things for granted. Since I've been nursing a broken ankle for about five weeks now I've been downsizing and organizing for a better calming flow.Today I wanted to just escape and zen out, so it's gonna be Sunday brunch with poke and donuts then drive East until something catches my eye...oohhh Kawaikui Beach Park, I passed it a gazillion times and never ever stopped which now will change. This is absolutely THE BEST picnic spot ever I counted at least 8 tables not including benches if you're not bringing your own chair. There are restrooms and lots and lots of open beautiful grassy area, the water is extremely calm even with my boot I was able to walk majority the distance on the beach which is beyond mind blowing I got to look and graze at the sand and water it's the most relaxed I've ever been.Absolutely great park you can enter right off Kalanianaole Hwy and another to the east side there is a loop to exit with traffic light which makes it so super safe.I totally recommend this rest stop it's so simply beautiful which is a oxymoron being it's steps from a busy major road but that's life we all need to filter out the negativity and focus what's right in front of you.Enjoy your now...thank you!!

Pretty and clean park to have lunch or a picnic at. There are lots of benches and shaded grass areas to settle in to. I saw people hanging by the water admiring the ocean, and others who were fishing on one side. Also, good option to visit if you're looking to play some group sports like volleyball or football.Parking is free but limited. Restrooms are managed well and clean.

Great Beach Park just off Highway 72!!I was here in July, 2019.Is there any place in Honolulu that is not scenic??This park was very spacious, right next to the water. These Beach Parks are always a great find. Not too many people here, big parking lot.Great cool out vibe here, no tourists, a few locals, wish I had more time here cause I could have kicked back here for a while...

This is not the best maintained or prettiest public park in Honolulu, but for the same reasons it's not overrun with tourists which is a plus in my book. Located off of busy Kalanianaole Highway, there's a good amount of parking which is usually open during the weekday but can get overcrowded on weekends. It's common to see large family gatherings and picnics on the weekends, so I do recommend coming during the week if possible.Built-in concrete benches throughout and a large strip of sand which is nice. I've seen fishermen several times but never seen any fish being caught. If you're in the area and you want an okay place to relax that's not too crowded this is a place to try, but I wouldn't say it's worth bothering driving very far to come here.

Not bad place to have lunch. Ample parking, many places with shade AND the bathrooms were clean. Not to mention the decent view.

Park is located across Hawaii Loa Ridge. There are lots of trees so it is windy, has great view of Koko Head, and blue ocean. My dog likes to go explore a new place and possibly meet new dogs.

Beautiful and not at all crowded park. This park was just a 20 minute walk from my air bnb which was located in ana haina. It was so serene and beautiful. Large area of grass to have the dogs run around on, and nothing in the way of taking amazing pictures. It really doesnt matter where you are in Hawaii, there will always be a picture perfect opportunity but I liked this place because it kind of seemed hidden meaning not having to share my picture time with anyone else. The beach was all mine. If i lived here I would choose coming to this beach versus others to avoid people.

The boyfriend and I were exploring the island and this was the first beach on our way around. I was expecting the same beach as waikiki, but it was different. It was definitely more chill and more empty. The waves were a big stronger closer to shore and more residents than tourists. The sand was similar to the waikiki sand, but cleaner. If I didn't want to drive far and go to a beach to relax, I would choose this beach over waikiki.

This waterfront park is right across from Hawaii Loa Ridge. It has a small parking lot in the front. I've been here twice and never had a problem with parking. It's a nice place to have a barbecue and the view is pretty. I've seen people surfing and fishing here. There is also a pavilion for shelter when it rains. I just wish people would stop peeing in that area.
