The site/location info needs to be updated. They no longer have a dive shop with available equipment. This is inaccurate. Guess they haven't had this for years now.

Kapolei Aquatic Center is newly opened and offers a whole lot! A division of American Renaissance Academy, Kapolei Aquatic Center is more than a dive shop. Don't get me wrong, they have tons of dive gear and will help you find the right gear for what you do and will help you get the right fit, but they also have a huge retail space. It's not crowded and it's easy to see everything. It makes it super comfortable and easy to take your time. They also offer swimming lessons for the super young through adult. And if you want to take a dive class, they offer both technical and recreational classes. The pool is on site too. The parking lot is huge. GPS takes you to the wrong side of the building, so take the road down to Midway and turn from that side. Enter in the first entryway-the others are blocked off.

Kapolei Aquatics Center is a hidden gem for scuba gear and swim lessons. Our 5 year old daughter was extremely nervous in the water and we signed her up for weekly lessons here. Now, only 4 classes in --- I cannot believe how much she has learned and how confident she is. We have met 3 of the instructors and they are amazing. Very professional but also great with children. NOTE: We have also taken lessons with the YMCA and Leihi Swim School - and while similar in pricing and length of time, Kapolei Aquatics Center is by far the best. They will not exceed 4 children per instructor and they are extremely flexible in available times for classes. The class is a definite 30 minutes (not 25 with 5 minutes to switch classes). So far, because they are working on getting more clients, we have been lucky enough to have one on one sessions with the instructor. It's not just fun and games, but real survival skills. In the beginning class they have taught my daughter to swim straight to the wall when she jumps in, and how to float and glide, and hold her breath well. The owners said they also offer classes for adults. I think I may sign myself up too! :)Highly highly recommend!

My husband and I were talking about registering our two sons in swimming classes for years. After some research and price checks, I came across Kapolei Aquatic Center event post on Facebook. They were having their grand opening which was on April 28, 2018. When we arrived we entered the trailer and were greeted by the friendly staff. I was amazed at the swimming/scuba diving gear that they sell. We immediately were introduced to the owner, Mike. Very knowledgeable and cool guy to talk to. Did a tour of the facility, which by the way they share it with the American Renaissance Academy. Changing room, bathroom, and showers are very clean. There are multiple picnic benches on the left and right side of the Olympic 50 meter sized pool. Not only do they offer swimming programs, they have private classes (small groups of 2-4) as well for ages 3 and up. Oh and scuba diving and free diving classes. We registered our sons right away and their first class was on May 5. Being that my husband and I work full-time Monday-Friday. Our sons classes are every Saturdays for half an hour. Their instructor, Ms. Denise, is very experienced and one of the most humble, kind, and patient human being that we have grown to love. Even though we've only known her for a month. Our sons along with our nephew are so comfortable with her and how she teaches. She is passionate in what she loves doing, especially teaching the youth. Me and my husband tried teaching our kids the basics. But we believe that kids have more focus and less anxiety when taught by someone else that has years of experience. So if anyone that has never swam in their life, or are interested in polishing up their swimming skills, or maybe are in need of Aquatic Physical Therapy...we highly recommend taking some classes with MS. DENISE!! You won't regret it.

Would give zero stars if possible. The other reviews made it seem like this would be a fantastic experience. Scheduled a private swim lesson and received a great reminder/confirmation text. Only to show up for the lesson and find no staff at the front desk. Tried calling the business number multiple times, and all calls went to voicemail. Waited almost 30 minutes past the scheduled lesson time, just in case they were running behind before finally leaving. What a waste of time.

My three boys love their private swimming lessons with their instructor Kim so much that they are looking forward to it every week. Kim is very professional and has hands on approach not only to teaching different swimming techniques, but to teaching survival skills as well, and that is very important to me. Kim is patient and kind, and knows how to work with children very well. Even when my son was terrified of diving, Kim was able to patiently 'walk'/'talk' him through it convincing him to eventually dive; now he's not afraid of diving anymore. I am pleased with my boys' tremendous swimming progress, and am very happy that I found this place and Kim. Hands down this is the best swimming experience that my kids have ever had! :)
