Bomb-looking food, but not so bomb-tasting.My mom was inspired to place a New Years' Eve order from Kapakahi Grindz thanks to her co-worker, so she texted me to order a 20 pc spicy ahi bomb tray and a dozen pasteles ($95 total). So I did by texting the number, and communication was amazing.I pulled up to the meet-up location in Wahiawa at the designated time, and the order was packaged nicely. I'm sad to say that the spicy ahi bombs were too salty for my family's taste, and the pasteles were too bland. Spicy ahi was frozen, which I actually didn't mind because fresh ahi is really hard to come by these days. However, I don't think that the price was justifiable for the quality.Don't think I'll order from them again, but it was nice to try. 2.5/5.

This is my second year ordering a full catering from kapakahi grinds for my bday , and man ! They don't disappoint. The laulau leaf is so marinated in a tasty manner and let's not forget the lomi salmon, a very picky eater but the freshness is the vegetables and rich taste is unmatched!! Not to be rude but I have no idea why they are theeee most popular Hawaiian food place. Someone tell the owner I want to invest.

I saw on Instagram that they were making deliveries of smoked meat or pasteles around the island, so of course I texted right away! The ladies are friendly and professional. They texted me back and gave me a meeting place in my neighborhood where I could meet them and pick up my pasteles!! I got a dozen for $35. Thats truly an unbeatable price. They were vacuum sealed for freshness and delivered cold. Pasteles were a good size, nice portion of meat, 2 olives and my only wish is that it came in a Spicy version!!! For mild lovers this is perfect. I'm so happy and can't wait to order again!

Kapakahi Grindz is an elusive but legendary food truck that sporadically spawns in various parts of the island. Led by 2 extremely talented gals, they've created an ambitious and exquisite menu of memorable plates that transcends the competition. I've been fortunate enough to track them down several times this year with the help of their Instagram, and their most prominent location has been snuggled in the sleepy village of Whitmore, in the heart of Wahiawa. There's just something special about this place. All of their dishes have been on point. Some of their illustrious local themed creations have been the Pastele Stew Nachos, Dynamite Katsu, Ahi Cakes, Fried Tako, Stuffed Crab Rolls, Gandule Rice, Smoked Meats, and Hawaiian Plates. So, sure, most of what I've just mentioned you can find closer, cheaper, and maybe even better. What makes this place special then? Value and Service for one. These plates are more than enough to satisfy the thick and hearty. Portions are generous and well worth the price in the $7-10 range. Every trip was accompanied with a very welcoming and friendly smile from the owners. When you've had a lonnng day and hangry, it helps. I feel special. Every plate was presented nice and neat, they don't just slop your food into the boxed plate. Attention to detail. Every scoop and bite of their food taste and feels hand crafted as though cooked to order and carefully extrapolated versus just being transfered from a pool of soggy neglected food sitting a long time in a warmer. I believe they really care what and how they put things out. You can sense it. This is what sets them apart. Its the secret ingredient, Aloha or Love.They do cater. I ordered a pan of their Gandule Rice and Pastele Stew as part of thier Thanksgiving Special. These gals know their stuff. Best Rice and Stew on the isle. There was something about the rice I've noticed. The consistency and texture of it, a harmonious balance of sticky and wet. A scoop of it revealed sticky globule like rice bomb clusters which was infused with so much of that lovable Gandule flavor. I can't help but think if it was intended, but I was totally into it because it reminded me of these rice treats my grandma used to make. Couple that with strings of shredded pork and you have yourself a winner! This whole pan was a shimmering trove of delight! I've had Pastele Stew from numerous locations, ranging from bad to good. I've found that other places versions are too watery (hey man I thought this was a stew?), not enough pork or tattered pieces(are these leftovers auntie?), sliced olives (skimpy and break apart and get mushy, are they canned bro?), or just lacking that chorusful and colorful blend of aunthenthicc medley of flavor. The pork pieces are thicc and chunky. Succulent morsels of meat drowning in a red sea of love. The olives are left as whole, juicy orbs, that burst into fresh flavors. They've taken note and have the proper buoyancy and firmness to dance and entertain your mouth. Lastly, the overall flavor of the stew is higlighted by the perfect amount of tomato-eey goodness(this is where many have tried and many have failed). AKA the right amount of Love. Awesome food!They catered a function and food was the hit!We all enjoyed the pastele stew, Mac salad, Gandule Rice. Ono to the Max. Price well worth itI'll be on the look out for the food truck now that I know they served great food.

The best food truck on the island. Kapakahi Grindz has bomb plate lunches and local foods. The poke nachos and pastele stew are my favorites. Chief Chan also makes special and limit time new items often like her pastele lumpia, ahi patties, and garlic chicken. Follow them on Instagram to find out when they open and whats new on the menu

Got there Poke nachos which was onolicious they cost $10. I believe anything with there spicy ahi is awesome. They didn't have fries this time but their poke fries is great as well. I know they are usually in Whitmore but check out their IG or call them to see where they are located for the day.

This food truck is just downright amazing! Everything made here is gold and heaven in your mouth. If you're being indecisive, just randomly pick something! You can't go wrong with anything you pick. I've personally tried almost everything...the pastele, pastele stew, pastele nachos, tripe stew, stew luau, New York steak, poke nachos, pastele fries, and the smoked meat. None of them failed to make my taste buds sing! If you don't live anywhere close, it's definitely worth the drive. I also almost forgot to mention that the portion sizes are great for the price of the plate. Talk about LOADED!! Also, don't waste any time... They accept both cash AND card. Their service should be rated 10 stars. I witnessed someone put in a phone order, but when they arrived, they made it fresh (only because it was fries) so that they don't get it soggy. And before I forget to mention- the workers always have genuine smiles on and it shows that they love what they do. The food is made with love... Not good at responding to inquiries. If they can post on social media, surely they can respond to inquiries about their items.

Food is bomb but hard to find a way to get . Not very responsive but nachos are delicious! Having withdrawals dammit
