Their veggie panini is actually legit too. Toasted perfectly with thinly sliced grilled eggplant, zucchini, tomatoes, mushrooms, etc. chicken tenders still taste good as usual. Prices are not the cheapest but not ridiculous. Thanks for serving delicious food when we don't have other choices in the zoo!

Located in the Honolulu Zoo, the Kapahulu Market provides zoo-goers with a decent meal. It's a good option for lunch as the zoo's vending machines only sell drinks, and the souvenir shop doesn't sell any food. You can place a mobile order using the ChowNow option. I placed a mobile order thinking it would be quicker to skip the order line. I was wrong. The kitchen staff couldn't keep up with orders and they also seemed short-staffed. The small pepperoni pizza was what you would expect from a frozen pizza. The burgers were good, and exceeded my expectations. The Grilled Vegetarian Burger was filled with a generous portion of grilled and well-seasoned veggies. The best part of the Bacon Burger? The barbecue sauce that came on the side. If you like the sweet and smoky type, it's definitely for you. They need to bottle it and sell it. The major disappointment were the Korean Fries. It was basically fried topped with overcooked and under seasoned ground beef. There's ample seating that includes outdoor umbrellas for the extra sunny days. Will most likely dine there again, but will have to order the garlic fries instead of Korean fries.

Okay, as a DINK (duel-income-no-kids) couple, I have to admit right away, we would come back to the zoo just for this food LOL. We last minute decided to go to the zoo because it was almost open and we wanted to take a walk around Waikiki since we haven't been here in years. I admit, the zoo itself is 3/5 stars but this food makes the walk around worth it. Like I said, we haven't been here in years so the establishment itself is a BIG upgrade. They made it more current, open, and easy for staff to clean. I do wish there was one big shade instead of multiple tables with individual umbrellas though, just because shade is already really hard to come by in the zoo. People were standing by the lion exhibit trying to get the smallest shade available that the little awnings provided. I also wish there were more tables and chairs available since it was the weekend, and peak lunch time so my husband and I were lucky enough to find a bench we could sit at after a family left.We decided to get the mochiko chicken burger and garlic fries to share. I don't think I've ever heard of a Mochiko chicken burger before? We were very surprised at the size of the chicken - definitely worth the price! And the fries were so buttery and garlicky, it's served the same way Zippy's used to make their garlic fries so we were so excited to have them back. Also, the workers are so nice, I think it was Cody who helped us? Great customer service, hard worker, and served us with a smile. Call me crazy, but one of these days I'm gonna ask my husband if we can go to the zoo again or maybe bring one of our younger family members as an excuse to just come back here to try the food.

Located within the Honolulu Zoo, the Kapahulu burger was well cooked and juicy. I'm not typically an onion rings fan, but these were nice and crispy. Produce tasted fresh and the aioli was a nice touch of flavor. It is a $15+ burger, but it wasn't a deal breaker for me.Overall, good food at the zoo.

As I sit here writing this, perspiration is starting to drip down my face. This is an outdoor restaurant located in the Honolulu Zoo. It's around 11 in the morning & the first thing we noticed as we took our family and parents that were visiting was that the umbrellas were closed with a sign saying do not open. We wanted to enjoy lunch here, but every table was blazing hot in the sun with only a few that were partially shaded by the trees. We waited for awhile and got lucky enough to grab one of those tables in the partial shade. The service was friendly and quick and the food ordering personal pizzas and garlic fries were good, just a little pricey. Overall the experience would've been so much better had we been able to utilize the umbrellas. Other people around us were complaining about it as well. It probably would help to boost business as a lot of families including us were thinking the same thing that it was hard being in the sun for that long with our babies.

The food here is pricey, as expected, given it's location. But it's actually pretty good! The garlic fries were amazing. There wasn't a line when I ordered, but it did take a while to get my food (little under 15 mins or so.) So be patient. FYI they don't provide containers or lids incase ur planning on leaving w food. Totally worth giving a try. + Friendly cashier (THX Josh!) and back of the house staff. Members get 10% off. Restrooms nearby. Plenty of tables and chairs.Burger $15.95 upg to garlic fries $4Pretty in Pink $8.95

Overall very good! We ordered our food using the QR code signs right before we finished exploring the zoo. Waited only a few minutes for our decent sized order. The burgers were very good. The hot dog was a little overpriced for what it is. Definitely would come back the next time we visit the zoo!

I hate giving reviews like this since the food & service were actually really good. That's the only reason it isn't a one review. I went this past Saturday and ordered the Korean Fries. Sign says $11.95 & online ordering says $11.95. However, when I walked up to order and paid I was charged $11.95 + $4.00 upgrade fee. I should have paid more attention at the time but didn't notice the price until I got home and looked at my receipt.
