I Love Kamakura : And when I heard they just opened a new restaurant in Waikiki, I just had to check them out. A spacious dining area, chic bar, pet-friendly terrace, and private rooms for intimate gatherings. Food highlights: Dive into the signature "Oishii Ramen" with a secret broth and housemade noodles, or try unique creations like the Tempura Yuzu Ramen or the first-ever vegan ramen. Don't miss the exclusive "Kamu Moco" topped with their rich Japanese gravy and a creamy cheese sauce! So unique and delicious... Also I love this place cause they also serve up amazing sushi as well as ramen.Service: since it's Japanese owned, the serve is to be expected... Fast, Friendly and helpful... Drinks: Indulge in handcrafted cocktails, mocktails, Hawaiian sake samplers, and local beer flights. Happy Hour: Daily from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM - the perfect time to explore vibrant flavors. Ambiance: Inspired by Waikiki's surf culture with a relaxed turquoise vibe for any occasion.

This place is a nice stop for good food!We came here because our room wasn't ready and we were starving. We were in luck because they weren't busy and it was nice and quiet. Not too much hustle and bustle inside. We had our celebratory drinks for being on vacation and had some delicious ramen and a shrimp tempura roll with a side of gyoza. Food was decently priced as expected being in this area. Within walking distance of the International Market Place!

I chose this place based on the good reviews, but unfortunately, I left disappointed. Dining alone, the bartender directed me to sit at the bar. I ordered the Aburi Char Siu Tan Tan Ramen, but it arrived packaged as a takeout order. When the server brought it over, they asked, "Did you order takeout?" to which I replied, "No." I think they assumed I was doing takeout because I was alone, dressed casually in a sweatshirt, and wearing no makeup. The server apologized sincerely and offered to replate the ramen for dine-in, but it didn't make sense to me to waste a perfectly good ramen dish, along with the container and paper bag, just to replate it. So, I declined the offer. The ramen itself was pretty good but nothing extraordinary. However, the char siu was disappointingly fatty--more like pork belly than the tender, flavorful char siu I'm used to. I've had plenty of ramen in my life and have never had char siu so fatty that I had to tear it off and leave it on my napkin. There seemed to be a lack of noodles compared to other ramen restaurants. After finishing my meal, the bartender asked if I needed anything else. I politely inquired if they could offer a discount for the takeout mix-up. The bartender checked with the manager, but they declined, stating that I hadn't taken their offer to replate the dish. I was surprised that was the response but okay. I guess I should have spoke up about my reasoning for not replating was to avoid waste. The bartender did mention that they could possibly provide a coupon for a future visit, but honestly, I'm not sure I'll return. There are plenty of other ramen spots in Oahu. While this wasn't the worst ramen I've had, it was the only disappointing experience I've had at a ramen restaurant so I'm a little sadden. That said, the ambiance was nice, with a lovely view of Waikiki street, and the bathroom was cute and clean and equipped with a Toto bidet. Still, I left a little hungry and bummed.

This restaurant is located just 2 blocks from Waikiki Beach! With a quiet ambiance on the corner of Walina St and Kuhio. This is their flagship restaurant straight from Japan. The Director of Operations is Mioko and she is truly one hard working savvy business woman. Her attention to detail is impressive.I reached out to her to request a special dining experience for my employees and provided her with a budget. She was able to work with the chef who curated a menu just for us.When we arrived, there was a special seating space ready for us. A menu with our company name listing a five course meal. Every dish was served with the freshest ingredients, serves timely, and effortlessly. The flavors were delightful. The appetizer assortment consisted of Oishi Edamame served cold but flavorful. Pork and chives gyoza was pan fried to perfection where the skin was thin but the bottom had a little crisp to it and with the dipping sauce, it was delicious and kept me wanting more. The fried chicken karaage was light and fresh, and the thick cut Aburi char siu pork was a generous portion and rich in flavor.Next was the sushi, fresh high quality fish for the Nigiri and excellent quality wasabi and ginger. The main course a Wagyu Beef Patty with a gravy that made me want to lick my plate clean! The Patty was so moist with a buttery texture. As we were all already feeling full and satisfied, they bring out the next course. Their signature Oishi Ramen has a French inspired soup base that is full of umami flavor. I ended up consuming all of the soup. The ramen noodles were thin and Al dente, and the braised pork belly made the dish decadent. And to end the meal, I had a mango lilikoi sorbet. What a delightful experience. I am looking forward to hosting all my friends and family here. If you want great food and service, I highly recommend this place.

Kamukura? In Hawaii?! Pretty much my first thought when I saw the Kamakura, but not like it's surprising to see another Japanese chain in Waikiki. A well known chain of its own in Japan, Kamakura Surf + Dine takes what is a more casual chain dining experience in Japan, and turned it into a bit more of an upscale (at least the look the of place) approach to their shop. The menu is interesting as they have some specific Hawaiian versions of their ramen menu items they don't have for their standard Japan menu.Price wise, may seem a bit on the pricier side compared to other ramen places in the area (and there's a lot of them in Waikiki), but the portions here are actually quite decent and not just noodles but also the ingredients too, so makes up for the price somewhat. We ordered a few things here, but I'll just focus on my specific bowl of ramen.I got the Aburi Char Siu ramen bowl. It is basically a grilled pork belly in thicker slices, and there were also bean sprouts and cabbage that were in the soup which added texture and flavor. The ramen here was also made just right, and nice and QQ texture for those of us who like our ramen to have a bit of chewiness, but not toughness, to their noodles.Overall, at first glance, especially for those of us who are familiar with Kamukura in Japan, this definitely feels weird and different at first approach. However, after getting over the aesthetics of the decor, it's basically just Kamukura, but service certainly isn't normally like this in the more casual dining version.

Came in for an early dinner and here's how it goes...Food:OISHI RAMEN - it is so tasty, so oishi! Broth is so rich in flavor and is seasoned really well. So much happiness in this bowl. I love it and would love to order this again if happened to be back craving for another ramen bowl. The noodles are perfectly cooked and the amount of napa cabbage is so generous. And they put a pretty good amount of thinly sliced pork on it. SOFT SHELL CRAB TEMPURA - whatever happens, if you dine here DO NOT FORGET TO ORDER THIS ONE. It is so ONOLICIOUS. Perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned!CHICKEN KARAAGE - so good and seasoned well. Cooked perfectly, with a nice crunch from the outside and soft, juicy from the inside. I will definitely order this again.KAMUKURA LEMONADE BLENDED - t'was okay, nothing special yet it is still refreshing. I will move on to another mocktails.Overall the experience was pretty awesome. We were greeted upon entering and were immediately seated. Nana, the server was great and she makes sure I was taken care of while dining. The ambiance was pretty great. It was neat and clean as it was relatively new dining area in the heart of Waikiki. Their seats were comfortable and love the simplicity yet elegant look from the inside. Not highly but it was definitely worth a try.Downside? How in the world they include KITCHEN SERVICE SURCHARGE on my bill? Like, bruuuh isn't that the company's obligation to pay for them? Are our tips aren't enough? Anyhow, despite this, I still tip as the server Nana was awesome and very accommodating.Mahalo for reading and happy juandering fellow Yeeps.

Happy Hour in Waikiki, Honolulu, Hawaii...There's a Hot New Business on the corner of Kuhio Avenue and Walina Street. It has cool decor, private rooms, a fancy restroom, and great service!Irene and I met for Happy Hour because some menu items are $4 while others are $8. For example, we got the Wafu French Fries and 1/2 California Roll Sushi for $4 each. The Chicken Karaage and Kamukura Gyoza were $8 each. We each also got a Signature Oishi Ramen for $8. The ramen and gyoza were tasty, and the chicken karaage had a nice crispness on the outside.Everything was yummy! The presentation of each dish was beautiful! Notes: Eat the French Fries right away. They're best hot, crispy, and fresh. Later, I used ketchup to enhance flavor, although aonori seaweed powder was not bad!

Got the lunch menu where you select 1 main and 1 side for $18. I got the Oishi ramen and gyoza. Surprised how much I liked the ramen. Broth was light and not too salty - was able to drink the whole thing. Chive tasted a little spicy, a bit salty, I thought it was meh. Great value for what you get. Would come back.

Our first lunch during our stay in Oahu started with a bang! This place was great! Right in the center of Waikiki, this place is spacious and very modern. Food was great, my bbq beef ramen was exceptional, reminiscent of the popular gyu don dish in japan, but in ramen format, I really enjoyed very much. I wish they'd put more meat and less noodles, but I guess that's normal. Karage was very good, tender, juicy and with the crunchy skin, yum! Definitely recommended.
