It's so cool to see these small mom and pop general stores still exist. It's like going back in time. The store looks like its frozen in time from when they first opened (From what I am told) in 1947. Probably the same shelves and layout it had when it first started...canned goods..gum..candy..cooler with chilled drinks and a small nook with alcohol. These small general stores in residential neighborhoods are slowly disappearing so go check these (charming little mom and pop stores) out before they disappear.

Kam Heong Market is located on Lanakila Avenue. I can't believe this mom and pop convenience store is still around. The last time I stepped foot into the store was when I was 12 years old. Thirty four years later I stepped foot into the establishment.I was with my mom when we entered the store on Sunday June 3, 2019 around 11am. We needed something nice and cold to drink after walking up Lanakila Avenue. Entering the convenience store one would see the checkout counter on the right hand side with a worker behind the register. Another individual on the left hand side sitting on the chair. Snacks are in the middle. Cold beverages towards the left side of the store. Walking around the store a customer can find canned goods on shelves as well as hygiene products for the home. There were other merchandises on shelves that nearby residents can purchase.Mom and I both grabbed a small bottle of water and two bag chips. I approached the counter and placed the items on the counter. I paid with cash since the store still had a old fashioned cash register. I'm unsure if the store accepts credit cards or EBT.The employee did put the items I purchase in a small plastic bag. After the purchase my mom and I continued to walk towards our cousins home...a short five minute walk.

Sweet little store with cold drinks, ice cream, toiletries and other stuff convenience stores carry. The owner is a kind lady. Very family friendly with kids shopping too. Perfect little pit stop.

Open Monday - Saturday. Hours varies by day, As i will post the sign. This little market is so cute. And it's very convenient for those who live in the area. Or if you're going to Kunawai Park or Springs then you can stop by before or after. This market has been here for years. It's a family owned & the owners and workers are very kind. They offer lots of different things, like most markets. So if i run out of anything and don't feel like driving far to pick it up, I can just walk down & buy it here and for a good price too. But it's location is very convenient to those who live in the area. I recall being able to walk down to buy some things, which is nice. There is its own private parking lot, It's not big but it's there. But like i said most people just walk.
