Known as "the rec center" Kailua District Park is a really well maintained "third space" that people of all ages in the community can enjoy. From tennis to swimming, they even have a weight room! There are so activities that kids and adults can sign up for like hula, archery, and line dancing- all for FREE. I recently came to walk my dog around and what really impressed me is how well maintained everything was. The grass was green but not overgrown, and there was tons of trash cans that weren't overfilled. This park definitely has a staff of people who really care about this space. There are parking lots but they can get pretty busy when all those different activities are going on. It can get really tight too if too many people are coming into the lot and trying to exit at the same time.

2-25-24 first time here to see a flag football game. The team we came to watch has rotational playing fields from Hawaii Kai to here. There were two teams playing at a time so parking was not a challenge. Yelp directions won't bring you directly to the field or parking so just exit, go right and find your way to the accurate spot.Luckily I didn't need to use the restroom but those spectators who needed had to walk far as no restrooms set up like Salt Lake District Park.

I've called numerous times & left a lot of messages to ask questions regarding Kailua Beach with no return calls for weeks at your telephone # of 808-768-6831. This person says his name is Recreation Director Eldon Lee. Maybe hire someone who can do the job & who shows up to work. A good idea would be to forward that landline phone number to his cellphone?! There should always be someone manning these important numbers. Get coverage for him. Geeez.

I am always amazed at the quality and quantity of beautiful parks on Oahu. On a recent visit to Kailua, we needed some fresh air. We stopped at Kailua District Park and parked on the makai side. It's simply gorgeous here, with views of Hamakua and the mountains beyond. Everything was so green, it was just what we needed. They have ample parking on both sides of the park, with dedicated lots at the rec building as well. Many are shaded below big trees. They park has baseball fields, tennis courts, and a pool. Like other parks, the grass is kept lush and green; it's clean with no visible litter. We loved stopping here and will in the future.

Locals refer to this park as "the rec center"Pickleball every Tuesday evening here!!!There are four tennis courts on each side with pickleball lines on 2 of them. Most of the time it's not too busy but random nights get incredibly full with many groups waiting to play.Basketball courts and volleyball available as well. Not a whole lot of parking but spots are usually available. Great place to gather and play sports.

Kailua District Park is fairly large and has a variety of amenities, such as tennis courts, basketball and volleyball courts, large grass field, and swimming pool, and gymnasium, among other things. I have mostly been using their tennis courts when in the area. and the place seems to be pretty well maintained.

This review is for the pool at the Kaikua District Park. I found the pool & attached facilities very clean and well-kept. Cubbies to stash your things & locker rooms with showers/toilets. Great facility especially considering it's FREE! The lifeguards are very friendly and helpful. Last time I went was my first time really trying to swim & one of the lifeguards was very nice in giving several great tips to help me out. The only reason it's not 5 stars is the showers only have ice cold water and the times for lap swim are pretty limited.

I have fond memories growing up and having KBA practice on those hot, dark green outdoor basketball courts at Kailua District Park. Located right next to the fire & police station just outside of Kailua town, this district park is one of the best on Oahu. The pool is absolutely awesome. Sure, the water can get really hot during the summer, but the bathrooms aren't as gross as most public bathrooms and the workers are super nice and helpful. During certain sports seasons, it will definitely get crowded (due to tennis lessons, regular swimmers, aerobics classes, yoga, baseball, etc.) so you may need to park in the long lot along the baseball field. It's a bit of a walk if you're heading towards the other side of the park, but not a huge deal. If you're looking for something a bit more intellectually stimulating, the Kailua public library is just a few steps away!! Great location, great facilities, and great people.

Kailua District Park is a large green space situated in the heart of Kailua Town. Accessible from Kainalu and Kailua Roads, the park hosts the community center, lighted soccer and baseball fields, swimming pool, gymnasium, workout room, basketball, tennis, volleyball, and more. The larger of two parking lots is on the Kainalu side but both have handicapped parking stalls and all parking is free. There is plenty of room for recreation of all kinds, and there are numerous classes held in the community center--many of them free--call or stop by for information.

So incredibly serene and beautiful! Love this place! Can't wait to go back! Hadn't been to the beach in a long while and a Maui native so this was new to me! This place had the prettiest color of water almost greenish blue! Will definitely come back!
