Absolutely beautiful evening with a mix of locals walking the beach with their significant other or with their dogs and the tourist taking in the wonderful opportunity to take a dip in the ocean. The setting sun on the opposite side of the island makes a picture view through the palm trees as the sky changes into pastel colors that make living the aloha here extra special. The mellow waves add a nice rhythm as you stroll along this epic beach.Lucky, BLESSED! To live in Hawaii!

Kailua Beach was next on our Oahu getaway trip. Sharing the same characteristics to Waikiki Beach and Ala Moana Beach: warm waters, family friendly vibes and a beautiful climate. Restrooms are available, and so are showers to wash off after the beachWhat makes Kailua Beach unique is the view you have. You can actually see a mini island you can get to! And the waves are perfect for surfers

This place is amazing, just a beautiful beach. Clear water and soft sand. Perfect for swimming, boogie boarding or whatever. The parking lot isn't big so you gotta come early or park on the street. There are restrooms and showers. Can't wait to come back on my next trip.........

Quaint, soft sand, kid friendly beach. Plenty to walk around and explore. Clean bathrooms, free parking, and just a nice drive from Waikiki.

Stunning beach with emerald waters. White sandy beach and you have to walk through a park to get here. But definitely worth the drive and walk. No food or drinks for sale near by so make sure you bring your cooler full of water, drinks and snack. No life guards at all so swim at your own risk.

Just wanted to give some love to Kailua beach since it's a good spot to relax and get a nice swim in the blue water, white sand beaches of the north shore. This beach is typically less crowded than Lanikai beach, but is just as beautiful and probably more enjoyable without the crowds. There's ample parking and showers/bathrooms as well. Definitely recommend!

A friend recommended Kailua Beach to us so we headed there on one of our last days. They have a parking lot but we couldn't find a spot until driving around a second time. Your best bet is to just follow someone walking out to leave and wait until they get in the car to leave. This beach was much more relaxing than Waikiki and more family oriented. The winds and waves were more calm than North Shore/Haleiwa Beach. There were a lot of people on a Sunday at lunchtime, but it didn't feel too crowded at all. We had plenty of room to swim without running into anyone. I also liked that there was a lot of shade on the beach so we could find a great spot to sit without needing an umbrella. There are restrooms here and a lot of grassy areas if you want to just sit on the grass and see the ocean, without going down into the sand. It's less than a 30 minute drive from Honolulu so it's very accessible. This will definitely be a stop on our next trip again!

Kailua Beach is the perfect beach for a nice picnic or day to just lounge around enjoy the wave action and sand. The sand here is very fine and soft. Really nice. It's not real busy so you can feel pretty isolated during the weekdays. Weekends it's much more busy as this is more of a local beach eg those working. We absolutely love it here.

Absolutely love this beach. Swim every day a couple hours at least. Water is ridiculously beautiful, love to bring the dog though it says no animals? Clearly it's ignored, yay. Mostly locals and visitors coming to enjoy paradise. It's far from touristy, you won't find hotels in Kailua, buzz's steak house across the beach in Kailua is about the only place with that view, they keep it quaint and charming, but it's all about that water and sand. Note, it can get very windy, check weather for the hours/days you plan to visit.

Sand is powder-like, location has bathrooms and showers. We swam with turtles. What more can you ask.
