Shopping in Honolulu, Hawaii...I was looking for a dress for my Annual High School Luau... preferably in my school colors.I want to wear something by a local designer - even though the price might be on the higher side. I saw that this store - Kahualalea - was at Ala Moana Center, next to Neiman-Marcus on the upper level. The displays are attractive and well-organized. The salesperson wasn't pushy. She didn't offer any other suggestions and wasn't very helpful. I might settle for a black and gold dress. I didn't try it on, but I will keep it in mind and continue searching... I still have time.I also looked at the jewelry, t-shirts, lotions, etc. I tried the puakenikeni lotion... it's nice!

My intuition told me to visit this shop. Located next to Neiman Marcus. High end aloha attire shop for adults. Huge gratitude to Justin for helping me select the perfect outfit to wear for upcoming weddings requesting Hawaiian or aloha attire. Justin helped me to select colors as I informed him I have two outdoor family weddings to attend this year - one in May and another one in September. He grabbed the outfits from my hands and asked me if I wanted to try on clothes in half circle or square fitting room. I opted to wait for square fitting room which is more spacious. I tried on five different jumpsuits and one romper in a variety of colors and designs. Chisako came to the rescue when Justin wasn't nearby and took back items that I no longer needed and brought the next one for me. I checked the seams, hems, stitching to ensure it's a go! I bought Jumpsuit Laule'a Black Gold Puakenikeni for $169 plus tax. Yes. Price is steep. What attracted my attention was when Justin disclosed that I can wear the jumpsuit seven different ways. By calculating the math in my mind, I can achieve one look for almost $24.14 and multiply it for six other looks. Chisako wrapped my outfit in nicely design tissue wrap and placed it in an eye catching, black and gold, Kahulaleʻa shopping bag. I've looked at various places on O'ahu and won't disclose names, felt materials, held jumpsuits in the front and found cost is more with one way to wear jumpsuit, fabrics are thinner or not flowy and stretches, seams are busting, and lengths are too long for my height as in 3 or more inches. Please note: They only allow five garments to try on at a time. Shop policy offers exchange only within 7 days from date of purchase with tags intact, unworn, unwashed, not stained, not defective, unsoiled, unscented. Thank you Justin and Chisako! I'm elated with my purchase. Stop by if you're in the area. Never know what you may discover.

Excellent customer service! Love the staff here. They are very helpful. Stopped into today to find something to wear to a funeral. As soon as I stepped into the store I was greeted and made to feel welcome. As I collected items to try, a sales associate took them into the dressing area for me. She also helped me to locate sizes and gave me very helpful tips on how I could accessorize a dress. Found something to wear for the funeral and other items to come back for. Will definitely shop here again.

What a shame, poor customer service upon walking in today. The clothes are beautiful but this review and one star is for our experience at this Kahulale'a at the Ala Moana location.Walk in, no aloha, no welcome. I say hello to the girl behind the counter and she gives a quick grin while drinking her water. It wasn't a friendly grin either almost as if she was annoyed we walked in the store. Mind you, the store was empty. So yes the vibe is very cold, uninviting. Exactly, who would want to be in there? I was looking in hopes to find matching aloha wear for my entire family for an occasion coming up. There were some u'i pieces but didn't have matching ones or the right sizes. The quality looks 10/10.The girls just stood behind the counter staring, laughed a lot, drank their waters, and fixed their hair. Never came out to the floor. The atmosphere was unwelcoming and felt weird in a way as they just watched us browsing around. We had went into Mana'ola and No'eau to shop. We experienced wonderful customer service. So much aloha and felt comfortable shopping there. They were so friendly and helpful. I'm glad we took our business elsewhere. Seeing the reviews for this Kahulale'a is a reflection of what we had experienced today. There is a way to carry yourselves working for a local business. To you two girls working today 6/25/22 this afternoon around 2pm.. where is the aloha? Cause sadly it was nowhere to be found. You work for a beautiful company, yet you have ugly attitudes.Aloha.

One of my favorite places to shop for men's and women's Aloha attire. So many different styles for different events, sexy, classy, casual.

Kahulale'a has a new location in Ala Moana, and it's on the Upper Level, Ho'okipa Terrace, Macy's end. Lots of nice prints and good selection of matching couple's outfits for various occasions and especially the holidays. Purchased from here several times. However, service here can be a hit or miss (sometimes, it's just aiiite and, other times, you feel as though no one's really interested in helping you). If you temper your expectations on enthusiastic service, then you'll be less likely to be disappointed as evidenced by past reviews of their previous location. TLDR; so-so service, but excellent selection of outfits.

I had an important event this weekend and needed to run in and pick an outfit fast. As soon as I walked through the door I was greeted by a young man. He helped me pick an embroidered lehua dress that was gorgeous! Awesome customer service.

On Friday 11/01/24 . My BFF that came from LA just to be here for my Special Birthday, so she got the (Punahele Pala'a) for me as a gift and I got the (Panahele Maku'u Opihi) and when I was very Happy because I wore it for my Special Birthday Dinner with Ohana. On Tuesday, 11/05/24 after my Birthday luncheon, my Neice and I went into the Ala Moana store to look around. We'll my Neice found something for her, and I finally decided to get another outfit as I've already had gotten 2 on Friday. Anyway, I opt into getting the Jumpsuit (Maku'u Opihi) and really thought the size would fit, got home tried it on and it didn't fit because the type of material was different and very tight fitting. So, I called the store to see if I can get 1 size bigger and the guy said Yes. I sid that I will come in on Wednesday after work to exchange to next size up. I got there and, on the rack, there was no size that I needed, so then I tried the next size up, but was totally no happy with the fit. At the end, I ended getting the ( Punahele Maku'u Opihi) (but in the lighter color. Now I'm at the register and the cashier said it was approximately $1.00 and some change. So, I asked her If that amount would go back into my credit card, and she said NO, because it's their policy. I was totally surprised by her answer and asked what she means, and she proceeded to say it stays there with the company. I then said that is not FAIR because it should go back to the customer. I then asked her to call the Manager and when she came out, the answer was We don't credit back because it's their Policy. I ended up saying that this is Totally wrong because, that tells me they are Ripping off customers by doing that. I also wanted to get My money REFUNDED, but with the situation, I ended up just taking the ( Puanahele Maku'u Ophi lighter color one).THE END RESULT IT IS THE PRINCIPLE OF THEIR POLICY AND NOT THE $1.00 and change. I just can't believe that businesses can do that. Very sad for a Local company to be like that and I wonder how many other customers went through what I just went through.

Bought $180 dress and they won't let me return it for a size bigger because I was past the 14 days. They have the exact size and exact dress in the store, simple swap out. Tags on still with receipt. Lost my business. I was told I could go sell it online. Off to Manaola!

I love Kahulale'a and the beautiful prints, but they need to talk to whomever does their production because this tote bag fell apart after one month of use (and it wasn't used for groceries and never stuffed). The grommets fell off on the one strap and it's almost impossible to replace (nice lady at Ben Franklins said not well made). I love this print and tote, but if this is the quality, no good.
