Still a lot of activity even after sunset.
Playground time!
There is a storage shack by the baseball diamond, at the Kahala Community Park.
There are picnic tables scattered around the Kahala Community Park.

Mellow family friendly and not crowded. Gonna need to bring your parking karma for a spot in the small lot!
This is what the Kahala Community Park looks like during the day time. You can see a few picnic tables by the trees.
The park is closed until April 30, 2020.

This review is mostly based on the use of the playground at the end of the day (after work).Even though we live in downtown, we have been taking our daughter to this park for the past few years. We have the most luck tiring her out at the playground here. We have no other family on island and since our daughter has not been to daycare since the start of pandemic, playtime opportunities with playmates are slim. She misses playing with other kids and we have the best luck coming to this park since many people in the community bring their kids here to play. We feel safe here because most parents are more attentive to their children here compared to other playgrounds we have tried going to. We have been to others where parents paid no attention to their children even if they were misbehaving or being abusive to other children. We also have not experienced any random individuals loitering at this park, which also provides a sense of safety.Aside from the playground, the park has tennis courts, basketball courts, and baseball diamonds. This park gets a lot of traffic, but not too much. The tennis courts and basketball courts seem to always be used, but since there are no lights, those courts can't be used at night. The playground gets some light but not too much, so once it is past twilight we get going.

Located next to Kahala Elementary school. Well maintained, clean restrooms with toilet paper and soap. Been coming here since son runs for exercise around the park. Lots of free street parking around the park. There are tennis courts, basketball courts, area for baseball games. Very peaceful and there is a cool breeze. Many picnic tables and trees. There is also a playground for young children. I enjoy coming here, as it is very relaxing. And not very crowded. Note: summer fun is normally conducted in the park community hall.

Since we've been on lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the only bright thing I look forward to is the late night 2 to 3 miles walks I do with my pal Makana.Since I've already reviewed two other parks recently - (Hunakai Park, & the Fort Ruger Mini Park/Operation Red Wings Medal of Honor Park), I figured I mine as well do this park too - the Kahala Community Park. The Kahala Community Park is by far the biggest of the (3) parks I reviewed recently. This park houses a large baseball diamond field, as well as batting cages. It also has tennis courts, a small pavilion with restrooms, drinking fountains, a few picnic tables, and a jungle gym apparatus for the kids to play on.Parking is available, as there is a very small private parking lot near the pavilion, but if the lot is full, there is a lot of free street parking available. The park is well kept, but of course due to the Covid-19 pandemic no one is allowed to use the park at this time until further notice.Still a great place to visit & relax, and hopefully by this Saturday, the City & County of Honolulu is planning on loosening some restrictions at the City & County parks, so hopefully folks can again use the park again on a limited basis.

This park is locates right across the street of Kahala Mcdonalds which makes it very convenient to grab a bite and then have anice picnic in the park. There's a playground for the little ones (such a bummer that there's graffiti on it...), tennis & basketball courts, and baseball field. What I love is there's lots of parking (lot and street) and a lot of seating! Thankfully, no homeless hang around here that I've seen so far. Lots of trees make for a great place to come even on a sunny day.

This is definitely off the beaten path in a nice residential neighborhood of Kahala. You can't be in a hurry because there's not a lot of parking spots. Nice little community kid friendly park. Lots of wind, I enjoyed watching the wind surfers and even the kite fliers. Ok for swimming with family too. No food here so bring it in. Not the cleanest, but comfy.

We stopped by Kahala Community Park with our 4-year-old who really needed to blow off some steam. This is an expansive park and we could see it was well-used and loved by the neighbors. There were two football games going on and lots of kids playing while we were there.Features:* Play structures* Swings* Tennis courts* Football field* Tether ball poles (BYOB?)* Restrooms* Parking lots (completely full - we parked down the block and around the corner)It looked like they have a community center there as well, but I didn't investigate. When we left, he was exhausted and fell asleep in the car on the way home.

For a noticably change of pace and scenery, I ran by here and checked in. I knew this place existed, but it was not on my usual route for running - until recently. It was nice to have a detour at times, especially when the usual route gets boring and unfulfilling. With that said, I came across this community park when there was a baseball game with the young kids and their parents around. I thought that was cute, seeing that I used to had memories of playing soccer at a young age. The screams of the parents could be heard every so often, which was pretty cool. It's great that the park gets plenty of use and the surrounding community gets some green space for every resident in the community to enjoy. There are good facilities here to foster a sense of community here. Restrooms are a must, but there are playground equipment for the kids to play on. The park is in an affluent neighborhood (Kahala), but anyone could come over here and play. It's quite safe during the day and through the early evening. There is quite a plethora of parking along the residential streets nearby, so that's pretty cool. You can play just about any sport you can think of, especially with the tennis courts. Maybe next time, when I can bring my racket and be like Andre Aggassi for an afternoon.A++

This park is usually empty and not too many kids but it's a little filthy. I do wish it was a bit cleaner and more up kept here. My little one seems to enjoy the park regardless! Lots of grassy areas to run and playground with slides. Also a tennis court.
