Going around looking for fasi povi since I've been craving. Was excited that they put it in individual containers and the prices are clearly marked. The old female worker got mad at me when I told her she rung me up wrong. I told her no, the chop suey is $5.99 not the $6.99 she put it as. All she said was oh, there was no apology. And you know she was giving attitude for having to use calculator. Make sure you know the prices and check receipts so you no get ripped off.

Just stopped by today with my friend who needed some ingredients for his Samoan foods and what a treat it was. They had wide varieties of prepared hot foods along with ingredients to make Polynesian foods. I recognized taros, yams, coconut cream desserts and even some Korean side dishes. The owner was a sweet Korean lady who was very friendly and helpful. The place was clean and well organized. First thing I noticed when I stepped into the store was the scent of fresh baked bread. I got the fresh white bread and it was nice and dense. I also got the pineapple turnover or half moon and it was very tasty. What a great find..

Good Samoan food but be warned, this place can be very expensive. I don't normally eat Samoan food but since we were on vacation and I haven't had any in awhile, we decided to get some. After all it was Sunday and we just got out of church, so why not? Shout out to Destiny Church in Pearl City on Kam Highway. Anyway, I bought a couple containers of Talo, one container of Fa'i, 2 curry lamb, 3 oka, 2 fe'e, 6 sapasui, 6 palusami and 1 half moon pineapple pie for $282. I bought way too much food. I tried calling my cousins, who were on vacation with us, to come over to our place get some food too. This food could have fed at least 12 people. At least they threw in a fresh loaf of bread that was like the bread we used to get from the bakery on Grand Avenue in South City on Sunday mornings. Thanks for that bread, it brought back some fond memories of my childhood. Now I know how much food to buy when we go back. We enjoyed the food though. It was very delicious!! Cheehoo!! Fa'afetai tele lava!!

KS market is located on the edge of Kalihi before Moanalua Gardens. I only get one thing when I stop here and it is for their awesome taro. Available boiled or smothered in coconut milk, it is really good if you are a taro lover like me. It is sold by the pound and they weigh it out after you choose your taro. Very delicious, convenient, and fast for an easy snack.Besides taro, there are numerous other ready made foods in pans for your consumption. There are also foods wrapped in plastic wrap along with normal convenience store items like drinks, snacks, and food. Parking is located along the side of the building or in the the stalls marked "KS Market" in the back.

I came here twice, once to buy a case of Wahoo Tuna, the 2nd time to buy Samoan food for my uncle. They have a variety of Samoan foods, everything is weighed and it can be pricey but the convenience makes up for it. There's parking behind the store but a lot use the sides of the bldg as well. I would call ahead to make sure they have the item you want.

So.... This hole in the wall place is supposedly known for their palusami. I never ate palusami from anywhere else, but so far, everyone I had try this, really enjoyed it.Palusami is a main dish from Samoa made with coconut milk. In the islands of Samoa, they use taro leaves and the Samoan corn-beef but the one at this store has no meat in it. It's like the Samoan version of laulau. This place is ran by Asians, but they sell Polynesian food. I don't know what half the stuff in there is, but the I see a lot of people go in there for the food. This is a corner store located across of Fern school. If you turn ewa on Rose St, there are a few parking spots behind the store. Most people pull up right in front or alongside the store. Just a warning of the guys that wait in front, outside the store asking for spare change. There's always someone the times I've gone. They aren't pushy or threatening.... I usually just give them my change.
