Junbi - Waikiki

Absolutely love this place and have to make a pitstop every time I'm back on the island! My go to order is the POG matcha (made from real fruit juice and exclusive to this location) with aloe bits. The combo is heavenly. Even my MIL loves this place and we get once each every time!I DID try the milk tea once with boba and I did find it ok. Felt that that tea flavor could have been a bit stronger.Also note that is definitely a TREAT to come here as the drinks do cost around $10 each if you get add-ons. It is definitely pricey, but it's right in the middle of all the luxury stores in Waikiki and i'm sure the ingredients and rent is crazy here... so I support Tip to skip the line:Staff is always friendly and you may order ahead via their online ordering site, if there's a line. Just know that if you do order ahead for pickup, make sure to checkin with the staff at the pickup window since they may not call your number as they immediately put your made drink into the fridge to keep it cool. For ambiance, it is definitely a vibe to be in Waikiki. Just note that this is a stand and there are no tables to sit here besides a big seating bench/sofa to wait at. If you want to actually sit down there are places around the mall and a foodcourt on the 2nd floor.Enjoy!

Very late review BUT I tried this place because of all the Hawaii vlogs recommending it and it was alright. Super cute branding and appealing menu. Also really great service!! I accidentally dropped and spilled my drink (so embarrassing) and the workers were kind enough to make me a new one free of charge. I ordered the Madagascar Vanilla Matcha Latte and it was way too much vanilla. I tasted no matcha, it was practically just vanilla milk. It wasn't bad it just wasn't what I wanted. Pretty disappointing considering it's a matcha place. 3/5 Overall, service was great but I didn't really enjoy my drink. I'd probably give this place another chance on the mainland though.

This is prob my least favorite matcha latte I've ever had. I kept it to 2 stars bc the person helping me was so incredibly patient and accommodating! I usually get a matcha latte with soy milk at other spots but I asked if the milk is sweetened and the girl helping me said it is. She even let me try the soy milk and coconut milk. To be honest, I didn't like either and you can taste the soy milk is sweetened. I needed some energy and since the girl was being so nice, I got a matcha latte (with ceremonial matcha) and coconut milk but it was just not good. The other drinks look good but also looks like high sugar content.

Stopped by for a soft serve matcha ice cream at 8:35PM but was told they had stopped serving ice cream for the day at 8:30PM. So I switched my order to a matcha latte, which was very good although taste was sweeter than I prefer. Pleasant staff and clean walk-up counter near the Royal Hawaiian.

If you are not a fan of match but love green tea ice cream, I recommend the matcha latte with Madagascar vanilla and oat milk. There are tables and seats scattered around the shopping center. Or you can take it to the beach located behind the royal Hawaiian. Junbi is located in the Royal Hawaiian Shopping center! Parking is at the royal hawaiian parking garage. As of November 2024 there are new parking rates. For kamaaina you have to spend $25 in order to get 3 hours free parking. It used to be like $10 which made sense but now with no validation it's $8/hour so it's actually cheaper to pay $24 for 3 hours.

Conveniently located in downtown Honolulu , off Waikiki beach. Walk up counter, selling lots of matcha beverages with different variations. The service was great, she helped me decide between latte or cold brew. Cold brew is made with matcha and water, kind of like a puree. I ordered the matcha cold brew guava, a recommended drink. It was $10.The taste was not bad. Being a matcha lover and critic, I thought the quality was so so. It was sub-par. For the price of the drink the matcha should have been better quality.

I religiously make my own matcha lattes at home and I can't tell you how many tins of Junbi's ceremonial matcha I have bought in the past few years (what's even better is buying their merch and drinks through the Toast app so you can earn rewards--like free drinks!). So to treat myself with my reward I got myself my go-to: iced guava matcha latte w/ oat milk, 0% sweet & no toppings. The guava puree already adds the perfect natural sweetness imo. What's unique about the Hawaii location is their local flavors you can't find anywhere else such as lilikoi (passionfruit) and pog (passion orange guava). I have also tried their matcha soft-serve which is so creamy and refreshing on a hot day(:Parking in Waikiki is generally terrible, but you can park at the Royal Hawaiian structure and Junbi can validate your ticket (for up to 1h I think?). Staff are super friendly and quick. Also, make sure you go up to the counter if you are picking up after ordering on Toast to let them know you arrived. They are a little window located near the center stage.

I went to junbi a few times, especially for their collab with miffy!Their general menu is pretty extensive, including matcha drinks, loose leaf tea drinks, kid-friendly/non-caffeinated drinks, coffee, slushes, and even rice bowls, rice balls, and soft serve.I had their Miffy's Orange Creamsicle Matcha Latte, which was prepared with fresh dairy, premium matcha, Madagascar vanilla, and orange juice - this came out aesthetically pleasing, but also, it tasted yummy and refreshing! Junbi is located in the middle of a mall area with other stores and restaurants, and offers a lot of tropical flavors that you normally wouldn't find anywhere else.They have a kiosk for easy ordering, and the cashier's are nice and quick to offer suggestions if you ask for them. I ended up with the guava matcha latte, and it was perfectly made. It wasn't too sweet, and it's reminiscent of other fruit matcha lattes, with a strong guava taste.

I've had Junbi multiple times in the mainland, but I was so happy to see a familiar boba place here.Guava Matcha Latter (5/5): The guava is perfectly sweet and the matcha created a good balance. Had to go here twice on my trip.
