JQ Store Hawaii

I work in the international market place, so whenever I get to work a little early for my shift, I stop in at JQ Store. I looove their selection of pens and washi tape! That's usually what I go in for! And, they've got Japanese highlighters with glitter! Those are my new faves. I like that the individual pens are available in different sized tips, and sooooo many colors to cchoose from! They're also pretty reasonably priced for great quality, individual pens.The people that work in the store are friendly and helpful. I love that this store is there, and will keep coming in for all my pens and washi tape. :)

Kawaii and cuteness overload...JQ Store Hawaii found it's new home here in the International Marketplace from the former Ala Moana Plaza and aren't we all thrilled that they did. Filled with all things Japanese it's not limited to the plushies and stationaries we all grown to love and miss as many Japanese stops have slowly disappeared JQ has a great variety to please all levels of anime lovers.Located on the second level right above the Kuhio Avenue Food Hall the first thing I saw as soon as I walked in was some discounted holiday items which is a great time to stock up and find unique decor that area so cute and fun. They do have a huge stock of plushies so fluffy and cute all covered in plastic so that you have no worries of cleanliness along with mystery boxes, huge choices of pens and model kits which are items that can be pricey but are hard to find items even in Japan.A great place with staff that are always willing to help you find items that they may help you to find or just a question, here at JQ Store its a fun trip without the long travel plans.Thank you!

JQ Hawaii has variety of selections of toys, stationary and collectibles. The staff is very approachable and friendly, offering excellent customer service. Their prices are very reasonable for authentic items from Japan. Note that sales are final. It's located in the second floor of the international Marketplace right across from Mitsuwa. Highly recommended without reservation!

Staff stalk people as though they are guilty...eyes on ya like Big Brother. They got a lot of nice anime stuff and imported from Japan. But way too much for what I'd pay. I'd rather fly to Japan and bring it home after a great time.My wife tried to ask about a few pieces but didn't get any clarity. If you're gonna have a store like that...it would help to have people who are into that with full knowledge.

The phone numbers they post and on their website doesn't even work. Weird. I would think someone would be making sure their contact information is accurate if they trying to get customers.

We visited this store while waiting for our food from Chodang. This store is located in that little plaza outside of Ala Moana that has Nijiya Market and Chodang. JQ store is in the same spot that Payless Shoe store used to be. JQ store is pretty much a Japanese toy and stationary place. They sell lot of Japanese pens, stuffed animals, and collectibles. They have some import figures from Japan but they are kind of expensive. It was a nice store to walk around but it was just a little pricey for some of their merchandise. I think I got my daughter a sticker sheet and it was about $5. But if you're into buying authentic Japanese collectibles, this is the place for you.

There are few Anime/Japanese Stationary stores on the island and JQ is one of them. It's one of my go-to spots when I'm in town to buy collectibles or gifts for friends who love anime.Located inside a small plaza near Ala Moana (Piikoi st.) They share a private parking area with Cho Dangs Honolulu and Nijiya Market.They have a wide variety of items that changes constantly and something new available at the shop. Once you set your eyes on something rare, I recommend buying it instead of waiting because I guarantee you it will not be there the next time you visit. I also advise that the store can get really expensive because these are mostly imported goods from Japan. So spend wisely! Sales and discounts are also provided, but on rare occasions. The employees are also very helpful and nice. They will support your purchase just not your wallet (lol).

Random name for a collectibles & toy store! Never would have found it without Yelp and Google maps! It is not in Ala Moana but just outside in a mini mall. But it is a goldmine! Our 6 yo boys were overjoyed to find it. It appeals to me because it is extremely neat and well organized and packed full of direct imports from Japan. A huge collection of Pokémon, Star Wars, Avengers, Matchbox cars, and more in collectibles, action figures, cards, stuffed animals, etc. Super friendly staff.

The cashier noticed that I was looking at the bobblehead Hello Kitty pens near the cash register and told me that there were more on the rotating rack near the store entrance... wow... the selection!MERCHANDISE - pens, pencils, coloring books, rubber stamps, stickers, notebooks, pencil cases, purses, toys, games, magnets, greeting cards, key chains, origami paper, erasers, plushies, and more!If you are a fan of anime, kawaii, and all things Japanese, you'll like this store, too!

My friend mentioned to me that a new Japanese store was about to open at the old Payless Shoes location next to Eggs and Things on Piikoi St. I went down after work to check out the name. There were not any cars parked in front and I too thought they weren't open yet because of the dark black tint on the whole glass front until someone pointed out to me that the store was open because there was an "open" sign on the door. I was told later by one of the worker that they may change the tint since it's too dark. After being inside, you can still feel the heat protruding through even with the tint.As I walked in, I thought I wouldn't be able to find something for myself in the anime section then I was thrilled to see many Japanese pens, cute Japanese characters and stationery item! ! I love to use the Japanese "Max" staplers at work.As I was looking at a few items which didn't have the price in US dollar amount , but only in yen, I turned to the guy cashier in front for help. I didn't realized he couldn't speak much English until he mentioned it to me and was going to call for help from the lady worker in the back who can translate. I should be able to speak a little simple Japanese since I did take some Japanese classes! I remembered how to say "How much is it" in Japanese "Ikura desu ka?" then he understood what I was asking. Some items were on the pricier side since it's from Japan but you can find all kinds of cool stationery, pens, pencil case, stuff animals, anime, hobby stuff and more. Such a cool store. My friend and Ana B. mentioned in her review that they have the same company in the Shirokiya Japan Village Walk but much more! Right now is still their soft opening and they are open for business from 11 am -6pm. Heard they do not do any advertisements so they asked my friend how did you hear about the store. Not sure they would close the other location in Shirokiya Japan Village Walk there are more places to buy the cute stationery & pens!
