I am only writing this review because the guy that works there Nathan has been absolutely wonderful and generous to my boyfriend who drives handivan. He sounds very kind and very sweet. This is very rare to find people now days with a soul and that is why I would definitely support this business in the near future. Nathan your light/love and friendless is what this world needs. Keep shinning!!!! And I cant wait to support and buy something from your store soon. Thanks for being sooo nice to my bf who drives handivan.

Been coming to JNJ for quite some time and my first visit was a tasting on wine and was good experience cause Hawaii stores don't usually do this kine of things and to tell you it gives a good push on selective wines and the store itself, the owner knows his products and also gives out courtesy cards to earn points to get something free from his store like any liquor he puts out for the point shelf. Tight little store and it's usually like that at a liquor store with all the liquors and boxes check him out in Aiea.

This isn NOT a craft beer store. This is a run of the mill cheap liquor corner store. It was trashy and over stuffed with boxes inside. If you want craft beer do NOT, I repeat do NOT come here

Went to a restaurant nearby and stopped in here to get a beer for my wife and one for me for dinner. We walked in and it was slightly cramped but the gentleman behind the counter was directing the other family where to find their request while allowing us through and had what we were looking for.We checked out and after we paid, the nice gentleman dumped a handful of hot wheels and told my kid to grab two and he said he had a couple kids over twenty and his misses having children. My wife tried to give him a few more dollars she had in her wallet and he refused. I am moving away from Oahu soon but this is my new favorite place.

What's this? President SpaceBalls just announced we are joining the Federation? We even have a SDM (Super Duper Missile)? I'm sure he will come up with a catchier name, like photon torpedo soon. We need to celebrate!Where to go on the Leeward side? J N J, one of the best kept secrets on the island for brown libations.Pros:- Excellent selection of whiskey, bourbon, single malts from around the world (hundreds of selections). Some highly allocated, some unusual discoveries, others, just great deals.- Well chosen selection of wines from major regions. Average bottle price, $20. No supermarket wines, rather well crafted, lesser known labels that deserve to be drunk.- Very fair prices. Low markup and unlike larger wine stores, discounts from wholesalers are passed along to customers. As of this review, restaurant allocated wines and libations are being sold off at bargain prices.- Good smattering of other interesting beers, soju, sake, and spirits.- Nathan, the owner. He is extremely knowledgeable on what he sells and is more than willing to pass his knowledge along. Advice from a local, not a snooty, "if you have to ask, you don't belong" vibe. Talk to him, he has many selections NOT on the sales floor.Note: The store is filled with inventory. Shelves hold as much variety as possible. The bottle you see is probably hiding a different bottle behind. Hunt. Tip: Take advantage of the punch card program. Spend $180 to complete a card then redeem cards for free merch.Covid Tip: Be aware of other customers. The shop is small with narrow aisles. If someone is paying, there is no way to keep appropriate social distance and move around them.Destination worthy for your next stockpiling.

Nathan is the best shop owner I've ever met. He really knows his liquor & he spends time finding out exactly what you're looking for! You can also give him a price range and he's very helpful with finding good wine/ alcohol in your budget! He has very affordable deals. He also invites me to tastings that he hosts which he has pretty frequently! He usually does wine or whiskey tastings. Also, while you're in the store, he'll give samples of the bottles are open as well! This place is a hidden gem!! I love to support this small local business!

I discovered JNJ Food and Beverage while working at Pro Camera Hawaii this past November. Nathan and his mom makes one of the best chili hot dog plate on this planet! Yes it can chili but they add something to it that really makes this chili something special.Super convenient parking as with all the businesses in that area, and Nathan and his mom was so very nice. Nathan is also a connoisseur of wine and beers so his stock reflex is a good taste. Take it from me, you won't be disappointed in that fabulous chili! Come down and try it out.

Why does Alcohol makes me soooooooo HAPPY!! Especially at my recent visit to J N J Food & Beverage, made me even more HAPPY!! I usually stop by this little mom & pop store when I am in the area and last week as I was dining at Raging Crab, I stopped by to grab beers since RC did not have their liquor license yet. Wow!! Talk about convenient!! J N J is located in Aiea, the store is small/cramped but size does not matter as long as they carry the goods!! The alcohol goods that is, I'm happy!! The parking lot can get busy with all the shops and restaurants in this complex. I've had to park in the other parking lot and walk over but main thing I found a parking spot.My other visits were for Peroni beer which is one of my favs, but they ran out, I had this in mind for my meal at RG, so I ended up just getting boring beer which was Heineken and Miller Lite. Until I I paid for my beers, I spoke to Nathan, the owner. He was super friendly, recommending a beer which is now my new favs. Since I was going to have seafood, he knew exactly what beer goes well. He mentioned that not many shops carry this beer and he only had a few packs. SOLD!! I took his awesome suggestion, paid for my beers and left to enjoy my dinner. The beer recommendation was Pilsner Urquell, I am coming back to grab more!! (oh yes!! that beer sure hit the spot!) Nathan mentioned they have wine tasting, which was the next day, on a Saturday, I don't know how often he has wine tasting, but this sure sounds cool! Nathan also started a stamp card promotion, don't forget to ask for a card. Next time you are here at J N J, Don't be afraid to ask Nathan for recommendations, He is very friendly and knowledgeable!! I must admit, Alcohol is one of my secrets to happiness!! Happy drinking everyone!!2016 #84/100 Yelp Challenge

We were in the area to attend a UYE at Papa's Tea House for laksa and thought that beer would make for a good beverage pairing. Being that laksa is spicy, I was insisting on getting an amber ale but deferred to my husband's taste buds for a more lager-style as it would have been more "appealing" to share with the rest of the gang.We went about looking for either Singha Thai or Tsingtao and felt sure that J N J would have it. Alas, they didn't have either BUT what we found exceptional was the friendly and helpful customer service here. We were greeted immediately upon entry by a couple and a young woman. The gentleman who guided us to the refrigerated displays asked us questions about the flavor profile that we were trying to match as he was starting to make recommendations. I thought that was pretty cool that this small shop owner would take the time to do so and wanted to listen more. Unfortunately, we didn't have much time to chat more as we were running a bit late for the UYE so we ended up with a couple of 6-packs of Kirin Ichiban. Both ladies who were cashiering confirmed this was a mom and pop store and were gracious to share a bit about their business. Along with their friendly and knowledgeable help, this convenience store has a lovely selection of wines, beers and spirits that can fit your tastes and pocketbook. Can't argue with that!
