J Hara Store

Not greeted when we walked in but still bought (2) snorkel masks that was $80 ish each and broke after 1 use. Never dropped it never snorkel in rough water never put too much pressure on these and both broke so easily! The plastic around mask just cracked out of no where just went took em off after the first use and went crack. Price is gurantee for the glass but the outside material junk. Not quality. My $5.99 ross snorkel went drop many many times user em many many years and still work till this very day. Receipt says "no return in this pandemic" should valid if you guys sell quality. Masks poorly made. Not recommend any masks from here. Thought i was investing into something better than ross or longs but turns out this is savers quality.

I haven't been to their original store on Hawaii Island but the Oahu store has a pretty wide selection of fishing, diving, and hunting gear. Being that they're in Kaimuki, sometimes they run out or low on stock, but they usually have a good range of popular items. From terminal tackle, to jigs to flashlights, even personal protection, and fly tying tools. I'm a light tackle fisherman, so I like their selection of micro jigs and fly gear.I like to describe their service as fair. Their staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Not the best conversation all the time. But they're humans and have to deal with all kinds of people asking for "secret spots" or "best" gear setups. They even have frozen baits!

Always delighted with the customer service here at J Hara. I Come here every so often when in town to pick up a few fishing supplies I don't really need at the moment but know I'll need in the future when out fishing. Little convenient store downstairs next to times supermarket. Also they do sell tako (octopus) so feel free to ask the cashier on there price point per pound.

The staff are very knowledgeable in what they are doing and are very friendly to anyone who comes into the store and it's always a good time there

I thought it would've been a small store but walled in and it's fully packed with awesome merchandise!! Very knowledgeable and friendly. Come here for fishing supplies, hunting supplies, bb guns, pepper spray etc. Hard to find but once found, it is a gem!!

To the reviewer saying people leaving a 1-star review because the shop is not all cheery and nice. First of all, you should be nice to your customers that's called professionalism, it's not fake. Second, I thought Hawaii is known for Aloha, so where is it J Hara?Lastly, I called and ordered a rifle about two months ago and every time I call back and ask the status the manager says "oh, I don't know the status" Since you're an authorized dealer shouldn't you be able to contact the vendor and find out where the f my Rifle is?I honestly don't know how this shop gets such glowing reviews? Maybe it's from the "buddies" that don't require good service. I went in today to get a receipt for the refund of deposit on the rifle and then he tells me "do you still want the rile? they shipped it today" Well, thanks for letting me know the status after I canceled my order your customer service is really top-notch. No, I don't still want it because I already canceled the order and bought it from another shop. If you're already friends with this shop and don't mind being treated like sh*t then this store is for you. If you're a new potential customer I recommend going elsewhere (look up other stores on the island and there are a few) you can get some good customer service or at least decent customer service. I'm leaving you a 1-star review for your sh*tty customer service and complete incompetency

Staff are straight shooters. Called ahead to see if they had a few rifles in stock and they did. Got in and out with something to add to my collection along with two bricks of .22 LR. All good in the neighborhood. FYI bring a hard case if you plan on buying a gun. It's the law since this business resides in a school district.

Not worth your time or ours. Two guys talking to each other appeared to be the only workers - completely disinterested in anything but their chat.Dirty, disorganized. Nope!

Yellow low star reviews are correct. And here's another. Workers in the front only talking story like they are the best fisherman in the world . Not even a greeting. I mean it's only a small store. I thought the prices are a little on the higher side but I needed something. I left feeling like they don't care and I went to J&E and got my stuff. Much cheaper anyways. Maybe walk up to customers and ask if they need help. Maybe might make a sale and a new customer. Do better. Aloha

J restrung my bow after it exploded from an accidental dry fire. 10/10 service and he fixed it extremely fast.
