Craving pizza, I decided to venture to J. Dolan's--a place I'd heard about but hadn't visited until now. The location proved welcoming and surprisingly formal, with convenient parking right in front of the restaurant. Inside, I found a clean environment and received attentive service, which set the stage for a promising meal.The pizza here truly stood out, a rare find in Hawaii where solid options are few and far between. J. Dolan's delivered a pizza experience that felt reliable and satisfying, marking it as a go-to spot for when those pizza cravings hit. This establishment combines the charm of a pub with the quality of fine dining pizza, making it a must-visit for anyone looking for a top-notch pizza experience in Hawaii.

Its O'ahu time, and I wanted to share some of the places I hit during my trip to da 'aina.My cuz & I dropped by JD's Waialae late night for pupus and drinks. We also caught the tail end of the Stanford vs UH Men's VBall game. Too bad the Bows lost a tight match in 4 sets.We shared wangz and calamari, and also had a couple of beers. I couldn't remember the individual prices, but the total b4 tax was reasonable at ~ $60.First of all, the wangz were spicy and meaty. They were battered nicely, and the batter had all the spices and heat. Secondarily, the calamari was a big portion, and it was GBD. The batter was light, and the calamari was tender.Regarding the ambiance, its spacious in here. We sat at the bar, and we could see lots of tables for four, as well as larger tables for bigger groups. The bartenders wore black vests, if I am not mistaken.Odd story: I go #1 in the urinal, and did not lock the door bc there is a urinal and toilet. Some DB comes in after me, and says the toilet doesn't have any privacy bc there is a pony wall vs a lockable stall. I ignored him and proceeded to wash my hands. Then this mthrfukr says, he wants me to leave. I told him to fuk off. I was there first. If you had a problem w/ someone being in the bathroom the same time as you, you should have waited outside. Mind you, this is coming from a guy who has prolly pissed on a golf course, on a wall, or in a parking lot of a bar when he was drunk: So fukn lame! They should have a lockable stall for the toilet, so I don't have to deal w/ bitches like this.On the other hand, the bartenders were cool, and got us everything we needed. The only downside was we asked for tartar sauce, and they charged us $1.50: Palm to face.I'd come back to JD's for the food and the service. I hope they put a real stall for the toilet, so guys can be efficient about using the restroom, and accommodate assholes like the one I encountered.

Great pizza! Can always count on J Dolans to satisfy my pizza cravings. Casual, dim lit bar/restaurant. Servers are fast & know the menu and drink menu well. My husband and I love going here and the one in downtown because of the ambiance and vibes. They even gave my daughter a little coloring paper with crayons. We ordered half spinach and garlic & half of their special they were doing with pepperoni, salami and mushroom. We always love the spinach & garlic because of the ricotta dollops and it is so garlicky. The special was good as well! We loved the mushrooms on it. Crust is thin and crispy. The pie is on the smaller side since me & my husband can polish off the whole thing without getting too full. We always order the onion rings and chicken wings to go along with it. The chicken wings are so moist and battered to be really crispy! They don't serve ranch so we usually order it with a side of honey mustard. Pairs really well surprisingly! The onion rings are the best! So crispy because of the batter and piping hot when they come out. Good amount of onion in it as well.

When I'm in the mood for pizza, it's difficult to go wrong with either J. Dolan's location. The downtown Honolulu one was my jam for years while working in that area but I was delighted to know that the Waialae location offered the same vibe, Guinness on tap, and the same onolicious pizzas. Jersey white is my fave but I'll eat any pizza with their signature ricotta cheese on it. They also have activities for kids .

Great experience overall, especially as a first-timer!A lot of great pizza choices to pick, you can even make your own! The appetizers are good and have good portions, you could honestly just get those and some drinks and you'll leave satisfied.

Love this little pizza spot in china town! The service is fast and friendly and the food comes out quick! The pizzas are SO GOOD! My all time fave is the spinach and garlic with a huge dollop of their homemade ricotta.

Located in the Kahala center across of Kahala Mall with lots of New Restaurants and Shops and also Foodland Farms.It was pretty busy, but the service was fast and got a table within 3 mins. The Hostess was very nice and also the server.We decided to order half Spinach and Garlic and half Jersey white pie which is similar except for the spinach.I really like the spinach and garlic the flavor of the garlic was noticeable and the spinach gave it body and it was very tasty and the crust was very crispy.The Jersey White pie was okay it, but didn't have the body, and the cheeses were more creamy in texture and the flavor wasn't as noticeable, the crust was good and crispy.Need to try the different types they carry and their pupu menu also looked good.

We've been dying to try the new j. Dolan's since it opened in Kahala, and were not disappointed last night by the big, clean bar/restaurant space, outdoor seating, but homie, Irish pub feel. It's much larger than the downtown spot, and we were seated immediately at the bar.Our garlic and spinach pie came out piping hot (burnt the roof of our mouths hot), and the wings and signature bleu cheese were fantastic. The bar and restaurant were full for a Friday night, but my honey and I were still able to hold a conversation and didn't feel too cramped in our corner.There are a couple of large TVs that we're playing the wahine volleyball game last night as well, so it may be a good spot to catch UH football with friends (I'd call to verify they have the pay per view!).

Great pizza and bartenders but sit at the bar! Been going here for years and usually never have issues when ordering food or drinks at the bar. However, the servers usually mess up orders and we had an unpleasant experience last night. Waited outside for 20 minutes because of a festival display inside the bar and after making it inside we got booted from a table and was told to sign in (never done that before). Shortly after we got scolded for standing near the bar for a few seconds after trying to make our way out when the door was blocked. Also get pizzas by the slice! If you buy a whole pizza, the slices and size of the pie are way smaller.
