Hawaiian Shave Ice is a must when you visit Hawaii! I am so happy this was my first one! They're very well-known and I believe are related to Island Vintage Coffee, which themselves have a huge line. Customer Service: Top-notch; just the loveliest, most happy people. Service is straightforward and chill, but kind of shockingly friendly in a natural way, not in a "customer-facing" way. They felt more like my old friends. Ordering is easy on a screen, but the workers are there to help you. Parking: I think I saw a parking garage nearby as this is at the Royal Hawaiian Center, but most people who come here are probably staying at the resorts nearby. This is a central area and is just a few minutes walk from our hotel (we were at the Ritz, but I think it's even closer to the other hotels). There's not really street parking from what I remember as it's the Main Street (think the Vegas Strip). Pricing: The signature shave ice are $10.95. You can also build your own for $7.95 (1-2 flavors) and add-ons between $1-$2.50; there's also a kid-size for $6.95. Some people might say it's pricier than other shave ice, but I don't think so. You get A LOT and you also have to consider the location, right downtown Waikiki. Plus, if you pick their signature shave ice, it comes with add-ons as well, so I would say it's about the same as somewhere else. Food: We got the Hawaiian Rainbow (Coconut (Spirulina), Mango, Strawberry, Soft Ice Cream) to share - it comes with homemade mochi and condensed milk. The flavors are organic (says natural on the menu, but I remember online, it said organic); it's what makes their place special as they make their own flavors, so the consistency is a bit different than other place's. The shave ice is piled high on your plate. Theirs has a more powder-consistency, the flavors are thick and rich, the mochi is so soft, the condense milk mixes in perfectly. My favorite was the ice cream inside. I loved it! Atmosphere: It's a kiosk on the sidewalk, so it's not a sit-down tables and chairs, but it's right infant of a great sit-down area. The first time I walked by, there was a huge line! That's how you know this is the spot. Plus, island vibes. If you're the last customer of the night, you might be in for a surprise. I am definitely coming back here again next time I visit.

They are located in a kiosk on the busy Waikiki street. The flavors are good, but they were limited compared to other places and we were bummed that the middle was flavorless plus the ice was a little crunchier than expected. The service was great and they were able to validate parking. If you aren't able to make it to other local shave ice places, this is a good place to stop by.

It's hard to have bad shave ice. There was a long line and I love shave ice but this was a huge disappointment. The flavor was mediocre at best and tasted watery. Once we started eating, I realized the syrup did not make it all the way through. The texture is very different than Ululani or Matsumoto because they use a different machine. If anything, I'd say this tasted "healthy" even with ice cream and sweetened condensed milk and that isn't a priority for me when eating a dessert on vacation. May try it again on trip because the amazing reviews perplex me.

Absolutely loved this! Perfect for a hot and humid day out. Conveniently located on the Main Street and a block from the beach. There was no line when I got mine. You selfOrder on a screen and the staff makes it quickly. Definitely must try while out and about taking in the local sights

I was forced to order from the kiosk while there were three people working in the pop up store that could have taken my order in person. The kiosk was confusing and I ended up ordering the wrong item! I wanted matcha shaved ice with red beans and condensed milk. That's what I chose but the computer asked me to add other flavors otherwise I couldn't advance to the next screen. Maybe it was the humidity, I struggled with the ordering system and messed up. It came out really bad. I had to add on a few other syrups and that threw the overall taste and flavor off. I was very disappointed and ended up throwing the whole thing away. It was $16 per shaved ice !My recommendation is to stay calm and pay attention to the kiosk. It was a disappointing experience for me. I rather go to a brick and mortar place away from the heat and people and order properly. The funny thing was they were not busy and properly staffed. I don't know whey they didn't offer to just take my order manually seeing that I was struggling with the kiosk!

Was it worth the wait? The answer is yes for first timers but it's a one and done for me, unless the line is short. Our total wait time 50 minutes from standing in line until getting our shave ice. It's definitely a tourist trap I can tell you that. Island Vintage Shave Ice is located in front of the Royal Hawaiian Center a 15 minute walk from the Hilton Hawaiian Village. It's a small hut next to another small hut the serves fresh sugar cane juice. We ordered the Heavenly Lilikoi Shaved Ice to share. It was good. It had fresh strawberries and Lilikoi, frozen yogurt, Lilikoi popping boba and mochi. The shaved ice was soft and fluffy. Overall it's a good bowl of shave ice.

Stopped by the popular Island Vintage Shave Ice which is located in a small hut in front of the Royal Hawaiian Center. Ordering is done via a touch screen and every time I passed by here there was a line at least 10 people deep. I went with one of their popular items, the Tropical Island.Tropical Island ($11) - This consisted of shave ice with mango and pineapple flavoring. In the center was some soft serve ice cream but I substituted it with macadamia nut gelato. Fresh pineapple pieces, boba, mochi and condensed milk topped this great tasting treat!Overall, this was the best shave ice that I had on my visit to Oahu. The flavors didn't taste artificial and the variety of items that comes in an order of shave ice is incredible!

Delicious shave ice! And you have the option to choose ice cream or gelato under the shave ice. Though the line may seem a little long, it does move pretty quick. So don't be turned away from the line.

If you find yourself in Waikiki, I highly recommend a visit to Island Vintage Shave Ice. Located in a kiosk off Kalakaua Avenue, I ordered the Heavenly Lilikoi and it was quite possibly the best shave ice ever! Passion fruit, strawberry, frozen yogurt, popping boba...need I say more? The ice is so soft and fluffy that it doesn't look or taste like ice. Expect a line and place your order from a tablet once you approach the front of the kiosk. There are two hardworking staff members working hard to fulfill every order. The kiosk is on ground level but fyi they have a sister coffee house on the second floor. I hope I'll have an opportunity to visit again before heading home!

I came 3 times during my 6 night trip in Hawaii! It's nice that it is so close to the beach. The lines can get long on Friday and weekend nights but it moves fairly quickly. The passionfruit flavor was too sour even combined with the sweet ice cream. My favorite is the hawaiian rainbow. I ended up ordering that twice and for one of the occurrences I subbed the strawberry flavor with lychee flavor. I'm not a fan of tart flavors so this combination was perfect and amazing. I also tried the green island but there wasn't enough flavor so I wasn't able to finish the dessert.
