Island Mini-Mart

Love them convenient hours and amazing customer service. Not to mention the best food.

This is the bigger of two Island Mini-Marts ridiculously close to each other along Kamehameha Highway. (The other one is small and in front of Kin Wah Chinese restaurant.) For a long time, this place was really good to stop for a quick morning bite whether it was a spam musubi or a donut. But lately, their ice machine is always broken! This is a tragedy for those of us who drink soda, not coffee, to wake up. Out of the last 10 times I've been in there, I'd say the machine was broken 7 of those times!What's sad about this is that the staff here is generally good. The early morning staff is friendly and usually quick. Also, if a line forms, another register opens. The afternoon staff is really good too, and at least one of them used to be part of the early morning crew. Whoever owns this store needs to buy a new ice machine!!!

All I needed was a quick beverage. Workers were nice and they all had a smile on their face... Store was well kempt. :)oh and they commented on my hair "nice hair color! Dang girl you gutsy!". Nobody saw a peacock colored hair before?4th star for the compliment. Lol.

This place is small and its really close to a chinese resturaunt. There is only one row of parking infront of the mart or else you may need to park by a gas pump. I don't know if this place has a restroom or not. There are not many hot foods here, just basic musubis. Your probably better off going to a 7-11 for more prepared convenience items.

I can't say enough good things about Lei, Christine, Dayne and the gang. They are so accommodating. They know my child loves donuts so they try to save him one in the morning. They look so sad when we come and there is no donut for him. They greet each of us by name with a very big smile. One day the big boss was in and I told him how much I love them. He said this location gets lots of compliments. It's a special group of folks here.
