I had such a wonderful birthday weekend on Oahu. The Aiea Shopping Center was our sweet treat destination for a visit to the Ice Garden. I don't remember what everyone ordered but I know my pineapple one was delicious.Until my next island hopping adventure.XOXO,ChelsieFletcher

We stopped by Ice Garden while in the area for a refreshing treat. Despite arriving right when it opened, there were already about four parties in line so there was a short wait.We decided to try the halo halo with ube ice cream and custard (flan). The presentation was nice, and the ingredients worked well together once we mixed everything together. The ice cream and custard gave a nice creamy texture that complemented the shaved ice. While it was enjoyable, it wasn't exactly a traditional halo halo.On the downside, we found the pricing a bit steep for what it was. That said, the experience was still satisfying, and we're interested in trying the fresh taro option next time we visit.Ice Garden is a decent spot for a unique take on shave ice, though the price point might make it a treat for special occasions.

Flan was very good. Can tell it's home made. Sign says it's home made since 1982.Long lines since there is no place to congregate. Only a window counter.Ice melts fairly quickly so eat fast.

Ice Garden has been a family favorite for years! It used to be run by a couple of older ladies but I think some of the younger family now run it. They still occasionally have the best rice cake you can find outside of Chinatown but the focus is on shave ice and all the topping you want to pay to add on top.I'm a root beer with vanilla ice cream fan but I've been known to go to the lime/lemon side. The kids now like mochi balls in addition to the ice cream under the shave ice. The custard cups that are added on top are also awesome add on. We used to live up the hill on Aiea Heights Drive and would come here with our kids....25 years later we're one hill over and bringing our grandkids and great grandkids. Many things have changed in Aiea Shopping Center but this little treat shop is still thriving. Hours are limited. To 12-5 and there's plenty of parking. Almost always a line but it moves fast. Cash only.

Such a staple! Whether you're comin back from the beach, a hike, or even post-bowling like us, Ice Garden easily satisfies the afternoon craving for something cool and sweet B-) They have been serving their community for years, although they now operate out of a small window (': We ordered a variety of ice desserts, including blue vanilla, strawberry cream, strawberry, and pudding milk shave ice.The mochi are the perfect size and have a light, chewy consistency. The flan was so tasty and added a great overall flavor to the milk shave ice (my personal fav). Staff were welcoming as always~ Parking is plentiful in the plaza.

This place has awesome shave ice. It's just a little place and has an outside window. There are so many options, the menu is quite large, they have mochi and custard and other toppings. I'm a pretty basic guy when it comes to shave ice, I just like some flavors and maybe some jelly on top. The ice is perfectly soft and the syrups are just the right amount of sweetness. When I was there there was only one guy working (the owner?) and he was taking the orders and then making them. There was also a large group that was there so the food took a little while to come out...but no big deal, he was friendly and nice. Can't wait to come back on my next trip........

ice garden used to be one of my favorite shave ice spots when i was younger. I remember back in the day there was two old ladies that used to own this shop. I believe it's been sold to someone else (seems like a father and son team now)It's been a really long time since i've come here - partly because im a townie and aiea is a venture for me unless im already doing something here. It was a hot summer day when i came - probably an hour before closing and everyone else had the same idea as me i suppose. The wait was a little long and there was 10 other orders for them to make when i finally got to the window too. They took cash only and my shave ice with 2 double flans was about 15.00. It was a pretty big portion to be shared by two people. The flan was as i remembered but the shave ice texture isnt as soft as some other places and they use artificial flavoring. I do like that theres a window outside tho so i can bring my dog with me.

If there's one place I MUST visit when on Oahu it's this place. It's a no frill family owned hole in the wall that serves up fine non icy shave ice. It doesn't count if you don't get their custard flan. I can't stress how amazing it is. It's eggy, smooth, and has a distinct caramel taste. Oh the things that I would do to get the recipe for this flan. It works very well with the subtle milk flavor ice which is my go to. Price is a little bit on the sharp side. Upwards of about $25 for 2 shave ice but I'll come back time and time again for that custard and support local. It's my favorite shave ice on the island.
