I Love Korean BBQ

I Love Korean BBQ is a fast casual spot in Kapolei's Ka Makana Aliʻi food court area. Local style Korean food means meat jun and a line of banchan side dishes that you can pile up in your plate lunch. Here you can get your plate lunch in either their mini size or regular. I think that the regular size is enough to share between two people - especially with a choice of 4 of their banchan sides. The sauces here are really good too and they have them in big squeezable bottles at the end of the counter- some spots charge extra for it but here you can load up as much sauce as you want! The service is friendly and quick here. You order at the register and then they give you a ticket with a number on it. Don't lose that ticket- they will ask for it again when you pick up your food! And while they're cooking your food in the back, you get to go through the banchan line and pick all the side dishes you want. I recently got their regular meat jun plate with kimchi cucumber, japchae, shoyu potato, and fish cake (어묵볶음). I personally like a more 50/50 meat to batter ratio with the egg being a bit more fluffy but the meat jun here is pretty good!

My friend and I were so hungry.. we decided to come here instead of the other establishments.. Got a combo kalbi and meat Jun plate for almost $30. Got the greens, the beans sprouts and the potatoes with mayo. The meat was amazing, I can tell you that. Took a bite of the potato and it was like par boiled, so I went back inside to see if I could get a replacement for it. So he went to see if he can ask the owner I believe, so she came out and I told her the same thing as what I already told the worker. Her reply was, "I'm here 7days a week and I never had any complaint lol. Which was really funny because I just looked her up on yelp and her rating are low. She then took a knife and poked one of the potato to prove me wrong, It's unbelievable that she did that, I'm a customer, I'm giving her feedback. .. I Oh I just want to add this on. While picking our four sides the owner came out from the back and started talking to the employee, which completely ignored us in the middle of us telling him what we want.Bad customer service all the way, from the worker to the owner. Really sad . Customer are willing to pay that much at least give them with they paid for..

My family and I have been coming here for YEARS and decided to use their catering for a house warming party. Let me just start by saying that they absolutely exceeded our expectations and all of our guests loved the food. We got a kalbi pan, mandoo and nori spring rolls, chicken katsu, meat Jun, and a wide array of banchan pans for our vegetarian and vegan friends. We also got the japchae pan which comes with beef and extras compared to what they usually have on their veggie display. We used their online website to place our order but they request you place catering orders ahead of time which is what we did. We also paid extra to have plastic trays for the banchan instead of foil pans. The price is great for the value you get and nothing beats the convenience of delicious, nicely prepared food ready to go for an event.

I wish I could give this place the 5 stars it deserves. The food is so consistent, and the reason I continue to come back.

Good place for some casual Korean bbq. Ordering is easy. They have an online ordering system too. Everything was plated nicely and portions were decent. Kimchi cucumbers were nice and crunchy. Meat jun was good.

I've gotten takeout from here for years and they are my go to k- bbq place in Ewa. I haven't had a bad experience yet. There could be a long wait during dinner time bc they are busy, but it's still worth it. We love all their sides bc it's always very fresh and they give generous portions. Two combo plates feeds a family of 4 with leftovers. Prices have increased, but they do give a lot of food so we still feel like it's worth it.

The place is always clean and they are friendly. My husband takes forever to decide and the guy was very patient with us.My gdaughter and I shared a meat jun plate and my husband had a bbq beef plate. We had lots leftover.

If you're expecting a hefty korean plate lunch that'll feed you two meals or two people like other places (Gina's, Yummy's), this isn't it. I ordered the $21.50 meat jun + fish jun plate combo. The container used was the mini size plate that other places use, so the veges were just 1 tong amount (bean sprouts, chop chae), 4 cucumber slices, 4 shoyu potatos, 4 brocollis (got no rice so extra vege instead). They can use a smaller container to make the food amount look fuller, but it really doesn't fool anyone. The meats were even less... 1 piece fish jun and 1 meat jun. That's it! I can't imagine how small the mini is. I wonder what a regular single choice plate would've been. For a combo plate, I expect more meat than a regular plate. On the plus side, the meat jun was tasty (and i think they add a little sugar because the outside has a slight crisp and sweetness). The fish jun had no flavor but good texture. Tasty gyoza.I still rate 3 stars because it's clean, good service, good vege choices, fairly quick, and taste decent. Just way too pricey for the quantity of food.

We catered my daughters Baby Shower here and the taste of the food and customer service and the presentation of the party trays were Excellent. Thank you so much for Exceeding our expectations. Everyone loved the food. Two days later we went to Ka Makana Ali'i and my daughter wanted to eat here again! Obviously this is our favorite place for ONO Korean food ...Mahalo Mikki!

While waiting for my husband to get his food, I literally watched one of the cooks in the back standing there talking to the other cook while she touched her mouth with her glove and then she went back to cooking. I don't recommend a place with poor sanitation practices such as these.
