Hula Ula Dancing Lobster

Walked around to see all the options available at the various food trucks and came back here because I was intrigued by the thought of a lobster dog. Walked up to order and was greeted by a friendly gentleman that took my order and told me that was the most popular choice. I told him I felt I had to try it. He gave me a ticket with my number on it and said he'd call my number when it was ready. They have several picnic tables available so I grabbed a seat while I waited. Nice umbrellas to shield you from the sun. I didn't wait long before hearing #24 called. I went up and grabbed my Lobster Dog. I have to say it looked good enough it was hard not to dig right in before taking pics. Even have an Aloha photo prop for your picture taking fun. I will say I was ecstatic about my selection. This was delicious. Just the right ratio of lobster to breading. Perfectly crisped. The sauce that comes on it is the perfect pairing. I don't think I'll ever be able to eat a Lobster Roll again after trying this gem! $14 per dog. That helped me stick to one otherwise I may have been tempted to get another one or two. lolIf you want to try something a bit different and you like fried items and lobster then I highly recommend giving the Lobster Dog a try.

Decided to go to the food trucks in Kahuku after our beach day. Hadn't been to Hula Ula before so we picked up a couple of spicy ahi poke bowls, kalua pork plate and a plate of fish tacos.It was pretty busy midday, but service was friendly and the wait for our food wasn't too bad considering how many people were there. We took some selfies by their cute little Aloha floral backdrop. There are a few benches with umbrellas, but we decided to take our food over to the Kahuku Beer Garden nearby to enjoy some brews with our lunch. The poke bowls were good, the fish tacos were tasty and the kalua pork hit the spot after spending time at the beach.

Saw this spot and decided to pull over, gratefully surprised and had the best lobster dog!! Michael and David were great, highly recommend this place, no wonder it's a locals choice!

I hate giving 3 stars to local spots buuuut it just wasn't that great for the price... Did a day trip around Oahu, was hungry 5 hours into our trip and found this food truck yard. We stopped for a quick snack. It wasn't a cheap snack! Had the "famous" lobster dog, yet there was no dog in it, just lobster in fried bread. Lobster was good but I was expecting a hot dog in it. My husband had the fried cheese dog, it came with potato chips, he said it was ok. We also shared pork nachos.. ehh. It got the job done in the sense that we were staring and it held us off for another 2 hours, but our snack cost us also $40+ and we did not order a drink.. do with this as you wish..

This was an awesome spot, we were going for Giovanni's garlic shrimp, but then saw the lobster dog and had to try that. it was outstanding. The poki was great as well. The service was awesome very friendly.

Not worth the money. Nachos had plenty of Pork but it was dry, very little cheese and even less salsa, shame because the chips were nice. Fish/Ahi tacos were cold and tough. Red sauce had nice spice but did not bring dish together. Tortillas were cold, dry and brittle. Tables are right next to the bee ridden trash cans.

***ALLERGEN WARNING***If you get the "Lobster" dog then know that it's not 100% lobster. The menu mentions that it's a lobster mix but do not disclose what's in the mix. My brother asked and was told they use Slipper Lobster. Cool. For $14, definitely pricey but we wanted to try since we always just pass by it. One bite and I knew they mixed in fish. I am allergic to fish, but not shellfish. Therefore I try to indulge in shellfish when I can. Cue allergic reaction! After calming down from the reaction, my sister goes up and asks if they use any imitation crab or fish. Person at counter did not know. After asking another worker, it was confirmed that about 25% is imitation crab. My sister then informed them that imitation crab is fish and that they should put an asterisk under their menu description for an allergen or at least to inform customers that it is not 100% lobster. Other than a temporary (thankfully medicine caught it) scare and a potential visit to the hospital, I liked the sauce they put on it and the fact that my sister said they seemed genuinely sorry (I was battling the allergy and not there when they went back), they get a star.

Being a local, it's a fun day just to drive around island and pretend tourist. Eat at some random food truck out on kahuku... This truck is known for their famous lobster dog.... My verdict on this $14 lobster dog... NOT WORTH IT. -too much breading -not lobster, it looked and tasted like imitation crab meat I get times are hard but don't lie to people... I cannot speak for the other items on the menu but specifically that item my review was based on... highly disappointing.

The shrimp here will give you a run for your money! The way they cook the shrimp really brings out the flavor and goes well with the salad and rice!The lobster dogs are one of a kind and that Aoili sauce that they put ontop are to die for.Smoothies are fresh and filling!

Beat lobster corn dogs on the island. If you on the north shore it's tucked away with plenty of parking. A red food truck that delivers. Friendly and super helpful staff. There's so much to try so got the lobster corn dog basically turning the basic corn dog up a few notches. And the pineapple smoothie is delicious you get a whole pineapple. Definitely recommend if you are here they even have their own version of Kahuku Shrimp.
