Another amazing visit.I ordered the combo B with mini ramen, mochiko, chicken and kalbi. The kalbi was tender and flavorful. The ramen is always consistently great. The staff is alway friendly and attentive. We also tried the crinkle fries, it was cooked perfectly.Always good here, my go to restaurant

Great little place in the Times Shopping Center in Waimalu. One of those places that you overlook until you're right in front of it which I was last week. Making note and bookmarking it I went on my merry way. When I got home I looked it up on Yelp and sent a message to my friend who doesn't drive asking her to check it out. She never ventures far from Aiea and she loves all things Times Supermarket. This morning she asked if I would take her to Times and mentioned the Waimalu store, since we'd be there we could check out Hoya Grill & Ramen. Love it when a well placed text strikes a memory. Picking her up at 10:15 we pulled into the parking lot at 10:23 right in front of the restaurant. Open sign lighted and a friendly young lady opened the door welcoming us then beckoned to us to sit at a table for four along the wall. The restaurant is small but it's airy, sparkling clean and well set up. We were immediately given glasses of ice cold water and two sided menus with pictures of the dishes. My friend wanted the combo which was featured on the text picture of the restaurant I had forwarded. It was the combo bento which was two choices. She wanted the tempura choice 1, and the butterfish choice 10. It came with a cup of miso soup, a green salad, rice and a little side of soy beans. She was delighted with her choices and started immediately eating her lunch.I ordered the Cold Soba with Tempura. The Soba was a bit over cooked, not bad just not el dente as I prefer. It came with the little dish of wasabi and green onions and the soba dressing. The tempura was very good and came with the dipping sauce which had not been watered down as some places do. My Soba $ tempura was $16 and my friend's 2 choice meal was $21. We were given the plate with the Sesame Rice Balls. Tasty and hot out of the fryer. The service was happy to separate our check and was back in the blink of an eye. I'll definitely be back. Parking is in a huge lot and can be tight but a lot of in and out business going on. The restaurant is directly across from the front door of Black Angus and in line with Times store.

After shopping at Don Quijote I started to look for someplace to have lunch. I passed up lunch at the food court just down the ramp to Don Quijote. Hoyo Grill and Ramen is a few doors left of Times in Waimalu. Seating is typical of most ramen shops . It was clean and inviting. The servwas good. One server, and one cook. My wife ordered the Shrimp Tempura Ramen, and I had the Mapo Tofu Ramen. To my surprise she asked what Broth I wanted. Well she said they add a little of your choice of broth to the ramen. I ask for the miso broth. The miso broth was added to one side of bowl. I tasted both broths separately. When I mixed them together It diluted the taste of the mapo flavor. Good but nothing special. Enjoy

Stopped by today because I felt under the weather and didn't want to be talked into eating pho LOLOrdered a C combo. What a deal! Less than $20 for ramen, katsu curry, salad and mochiko chicken.Tantan ramen was kinda spicy. Couldn't down it while I felt icky.Mochiko chicken is good as always.Salad was cold and refreshing.Katsu curry was delicious but lacked sauce. I wish it was saucy! One star shy because the customer service was not great! She made us feel like she didn't want us to be there.

My hunny and I decided to check out this place for a new ramen or Asian experience in general. Let me tell you it did not disappoint. As we entered, we were greeted and seated immediately. The waitress gave us menus and ample time to decide was to eat. There were so many Ono choices! We decided on:Black garlic ramen: nice garlic flavor and very yummyKimchi ramen: not too spicy but has that kimchi spice. Everything was cooked so well!Gyoza: perfectly fried. It had a strong ginger taste but yummy!Definitely if your in the waimalu pearly city check this place out

Well trying this place in the waimalu shopping center where times and black angus located in think this place changed the name it was Ichi Ban ramen. The place is clean had chairs for dining in. I had the shrimp tempura ramen and my husband had the mabo tofu ramen. The server ask us what kind of broth we wanted. I took the shoyu broth and to my husband surprise he thought the mabo tofu ramen came with the regular mabo tofu broth but no it's comes shoyu, miso, and another type can't remember. My ramen broth was not hot enough was just ok lukewarm maybe. The tempura was pre fab. Just fast frying to crispy not like Japanese style tempura flaky. My husband mabo tofu was with miso broth and the mabo tofu. He said mixing it together came watery. At least we tried this place. If you want to this place go and try um

Japanese Food [Pearl City HI]This was our first time dining here. We found it only because it was next to Ululani's in Pearl City which we originally came here for. We walked in for a late lunch. At first we were the only customers but it slowly started to gain other diners. It was around 1:45p.I ordered a side order of Crispy Wonton and hubby ordered his usual, Shrimp Tempura Ramen. The wonton came with 12 small pieces made of pork and shrimp. My daughter and niece came straight next door and made purchases. I asked our server if they could come sit with us inside the restaurant with their shave ice from Ululani's and she kindly said yes. The girls came and joined us and they ended up ordering a side order of Shrimp & Vegetable Tempura that they shared. Everything we ate was delicious and came piping hot, freshly made. There are table seating on each side of the wall and booths in the center of the restaurant. The restaurant was clean and customer service was excellent!Review #3569

Party of 11 on a Friday night. HoYa Grill & Ramen was perfect for us... takes reservations, ample free parking, BYOB, large menu (teishoku, curry, ramen and more) and reasonably priced. Service was good and food arrived timely. Majority emptied their plates. Nice, clean, family-friendly eatery to fill any appetite.
