It was quite pricey but the atmosphere was nice and the waiters were all very friendly and helpful. The food was good, didn't have any complaints. A nice parking lot for customers on the side. It's quite the spot.

The Chinese food is good not great however Service is lacking not to mention comprehension of orders, substitutions and directions, if I were an owner of a restaurant with mostly Asian staff who have strong accents and poor English skills, I would encourage a raise if these people attended English classes p, not only to improve the work at the restaurants, but also improve their lives for better understanding and appreciation for what we have here. On four separate occasions I've tried to order the Seafoo/ beef chow mein with vegetables with crispy noodles, first, I requested light golden fry on those noodles and they have never gotten it right on five different occasions, I requested to make sure the noodles were separate from the actual broth and ingredients, each time It wasn't done. Regardless and logically it should always come out that way, it should always be separated! otherwise why do you advertise crispy noodles because by the time you get it, it's mush. The only thing I can think of is they're trying to save money on takeout product packaging??Aloha

Never ever ever go here on Christmas!! Our family has a tradition to have dinner at a Chinese restaurant on Christmas. We looked for a new one this year because our original restaurant closed down. Found this place after a family photo shoot and it was good. Food was decent. Portions were on the small side but the service and ambiance was nice. Not a run down Chinese restaurant. Made reservations for Christmas for 7pm. We were seated about 715. Waited about 45 minutes to just order our food. They took other peoples order before ours even though we were seated first. Was told it didn't matter that our order wasn't taken first that the kitchen would just cook the food??? Water was never brought to us after numerous times we asked for it. Waiters were rude and had bad attitudes. There was 13 of us plus a 1 1/2 year old who was already very hungry and doesn't understand she has to just be patient. We order about 12 dishes. When the food finally came out about 30 minutes after ordering, only rice and 3 dishes came out. Then there was a 20 minute wait until the next dish came out. They only brought out 1 dish at this point. So 4 dishes after an hour and when asked they said yeah just wait. Being there an hour and 45 minutes and only getting almost half of our order, we decided to cancel the rest of our order, pay the bill and leave. At this point the restaurant only had 3 parties left in the restaurant. 2 other parties about the same as ours. Both parties came in after us but when we were walking out we noticed they had all their food. Maybe it was because they were Asian families and we weren't We will never be returning. Seemed like they just wanted to make money and no care in the world about good service or good food. Our Roast duck (order a whole duck) mostly bones, 3 orders of honey walnut shrimp looked liked 1 order at any other Chinese place, orange chicken sauce was junk, egg fuyoung was dry with no taste or sauce. Portions small and not worth the price.

I love House of Wong and the Uncles that run the restaurant so much. And their food is delicious! If you go there or order food for takeout, just know that these are some of the nicest most genuine Chinese Uncles and the location is right on Kapahulu Ave right by Waikiki. House of Wong is great vibes. The Chinese food is SO ONO and yummy and they are extremely efficient and the restaurant is clean -- my bf and I order fromthem a few times a year it's always great! Thank you for supporting a local neighborhood landmark in Honolulu by supporting House of Wong mahalo Unkoz !!!

I came here with my family last week and celebrated my mother's birthday. We packed two large tables of around 20 people. We ordered a bunch of entrees in which my favorites were: Fried flounder, fried rice and chow mein, sweet & sour pork, eggplant with shredded beef, and their crispy golden chicken.Their service was excellent. The manager kept making sure we were doing find by doing refills and cleaning up empty platters, etc. I thought this Chinese restaurant is quality and definitely worth coming to. None of the dishes were oily, bland, and over salted. The food was cooked just fine and tasted really good. My whole family was satisfied.Great Job!!

My partner and I came in on a complete whim just to try without looking at any reviews beforehand, and it was dead empty inside, but we still felt like being adventurous and ordered a few things. Was definitely subpar Chinese-American food, but it was certainly an experience. The hot sour soup was not sour at all and not really hot either the mango pudding didn't taste whatsoever of mango (or anything for that matter) and was a concerning neon shade of orange. Some things were not bad- the gongbao squid and almond tofu with canned lychee for example. Maybe best as takeout for a comfort food craving, but there's choke options on island that will likely satisfy better!

Had late night supper for 3 at House of Wong on Feb 18, 2025. Sizzling Oysters on hot plate, House Special Cake Noodle, and Ong Choy w/fermented shrimp paste. Ate everything. Loved it. Also loved that Boss Wang told me where they buy the oysters: Pacific Seafood in Kalihi. They sell both wholesale & retail. Will plan a future Qing Ming (Bai San) reunion dinner there in the spring.

My wife and I come here for a weekend lunch sometimes. The food was yummy and price was reasonable. They provide a cup of corn chowder for each of us with our orders. Our favorite is salt and pepper pork chops and beef hofun. We also were invited as guests to a couple of banquets held in the restaurant. The food was even better. The koi jelley dessert was very interesting and delicious!
